It's OOC organization for IG/IC results. It just feels wrong. For me at least, pre-arranged RP always felt flat and wrong and unnatural.
I'm really not sure exactly what kind of experience it is you're wanting?
Based on past conversations, my impression is that hoihe would be happy with faerun-based life simulator with depth of dwarf fortress.

Meaning there would be ton concurrent plots running in background, thousands of active npcs, all RP would be spontaneous, and all monster appearances would be logical, and everything would be logical, like bg would actually have thousands of people living in it.

Something like that is not really feasible right now. Bgtscc has population limit of 95 people, and something like 300 locations. Meaning you'll have 3 location per person at max population.

Developing something like that as a single player (instead of multiplayer) game is a massive amount of work no one would really undertake. The closest to the ideal is actually already mentioned dwarf fortress which generates history in background while players do their own stuff, and gives a chance to ANY creature turn into a legendary monster.

So, yeah, best to keep limitations of the real world in mind.

Speaking off numbers, personally I find it difficult how to interpret the scry tool.
There is a decent amount of people hiding themselves completely or just their location.
While it is understandable when you are not in the mood for rp or simply want to hide something rp sensitive.
I don't get get the purpose of doing it when you're just campfire rping.

The scry tool helps with finding RP in a subtle way instead of going full blown ooc meta gaming, hiding yourself counters that.
If it weren't there most would be meta gaming or wasting time looking for people.

More so it is some what odd when people hide themselves for RP immersion yet OOC appoint to do adventures etc.

Personally I rarely PM to meet up for RP it breaks for me immersion.
The scry tool is a necessary evil when I just don't find people, however recently a lot are hidden making me ignore it all together.

I do admit my best rp encounters have been based on meeting people that I did not expect to meet, just on the road.
There is fun to be had when every one is hidden, however unless you're willing to meta game it can also end in a couple of days with no rp.

While you have some campfires where people gathe,r personally I find the RP most of the time a bit dull and forced.
Besides half of the group tends to stand aside whispering.

Since the server is there for every one it is difficult to find a good solution.
Though for me it remains a bit unclear how the scry tool is suppose to be used.

I generally hide myself while "adventuring". I like running into folks organically, and will always RP an appropriate reaction, but I am not inviting folks to crowd out a dungeon with me, either.

I try to remember to shut it off whenever I am camped somewhere, ie an inn, a fire, a market, etc. These are times when its much more "the more the merrier".

But it is a popularity contest. Its a lot like high school. If you try to work yourself into the spotlight, you either have to tithe the popular kids in order to be accepted into it or you will pushed out of the spotlight by force. No one likes to share the spotlight unless it would be beneficial for them to do so.
