Annalena Denholm's Works and Song

Unread post by Shadow Moonlight »

Beast of Helm and Cloak was inspired by the recent murder incident in the Inn, it was made in effort to inform the people of the miscreant and to be alert. As well as to help gain information.
Hidden: show
Now I have rumor, you may all know very well.

It was here at this Inn, just behind a first floor door.
So please sit and listen and I will tell you so much more.(edited)
For here dear ol' Morris, looked the beast in the eyes.
The beast and her comrade enjoyed Arabella Dries.
Though comrade we believed but soon you will all see.

As friendly as she seemed, she enticed her comrade in.
The door to which fate, surely closed upon him.
For what happened behind it, metal flashed into the air.

The comrade we believed, could not yell a single swear(edited)
For his life was snuffed, like a candle flame.
The lifeblood we hold dear, sent to ground by beast to blame.(edited)
Now the beast had to run, and quickly did she go.

She went out the nearest window, and into darkness so.
From there we wonder, where she went to hide.
But fear not dear friends, her hide we shall find.

For the watch and the Fist, are alert just as we are.
The fate of the beast is not so very far.
So I thank ye for listening to this horrific deed.
I just hope every one of you have all learned to heed.
Beauty of Dawn was inspired by a recent meeting of another.
Hidden: show
A serpent lights the ancient sky
A threat of tainted stars
Evil stirs and in its wake
The souls of mortals sway

Sorrow reigns
Over fields of red
Spirits pace
Through the shadows cast by their graves

These are days and nights of venom and blood
Heroes will rise as the anchors fall
Brave the strife, reclaim every soul
That belongs to the Beauty of Dawn

Darkness strives to blind the strong
But Faith will guide our swords
Loyal hearts we'll stand as one
And fight with shields of Hope

Pride fuels the deadly fire
That devours our tower of gold
The drums of war will rage and roar
Till the sun burns bright once more

These are days and nights of venom and blood
Heroes will rise as the anchors fall
Brave the strife, reclaim every soul
That belongs to the Beauty of Dawn

Kaylee had seen Annalena's performance at the Helm and Cloak and asked to work together as she needed someone with a voice. I decided why not, might help make a name for myself out here on the Coast, and then I can work towards the other.
Hidden: show
Cast away your worries, my friends, for tomorrow comes a new day.
Hold to hope, you've nothing to fear, for your dreams are not far away.

As you lay your head, and you rest, may your dreams take over, with love.
Listen close, good folks of Faerûn, for your destiny lies ahead.

Though the world is cruel, there's a light that still shines in the darkest days of our lives
When all hope seems lost, and you can't find your way, think of us as you look to the sky

Fellowship of Ya'aestar stay true, with your brothers and sisters in arms.
In dark times, I pray you will fight, for the world will soon call your name...

Faerûn will soon call your name...

No real inspiration, she has come across various performances from other Bards and found the song quite endearing.
Hidden: show
Sometimes in this life we hear
Calling from somewhere
Sometimes it is loud and clear
Sometimes it's so softly there

Sometimes it is in the sea
Sometimes in the sky
Sometimes it's in you and me
Sometimes it's a cry

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Sometimes it is in desire
Or in the love we fear
When the call keeps calling us
'Till the fear will disappear

When we have no dance to dance
The call is in a song
When we have no voice to sing
Then the call is calling strong

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Open your heart
I am calling you
Right from the very start
Your wounded heart was calling, too

Open your arms
You will find the answer
When you answer to the Call

Open your heart, your heart
And you will find the answer
To the Call!

A song created by the inspiration of urging the people to give her the information she is seeking to find the Beast of the Helm and Cloak.
Hidden: show
[parchment]I hear your voice on the wind
And I hear you call out my name

"Listen, my child," you say to me
"I am the voice of your history
Be not afraid, come follow me
Answer my call, and I'll set you free"

I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice that always is calling you
I am the voice, I will remain

I am the voice in the fields when the summer's gone
The dance of the leaves when the autumn winds blow
Ne'er do I sleep thoughout all the cold winter long
I am the force that in springtime will grow

I am the voice of the past that will always be
Filled with my sorrow and blood in my fields
I am the voice of the future, bring me your peace
Bring me your peace, and my wounds, they will heal

I am the voice in the wind and the pouring rain
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice that always is calling you
I am the voice

I am the voice of the past that will always be
I am the voice of your hunger and pain
I am the voice of the future

I am the voice, I am the voice
I am the voice, I am the voice

This song was inspired by the sudden pulse of activity and constant mention of Drow on the Surface, in attempt to strike the Fear that should be hand in hand with Drow. So any upon the surface are not caught off guard.
Hidden: show
Of all the Faerun Monsters
There's one with shocking gall
Their goal the Domination and Enslavement of us all.
The King of Schemes
The Prince of Pain
The Captain of Corruption
They till the Land of Toril
And sows the seeds of Destruction

The plane meld is nigh
The plane meld is nigh
Our world will disappear
The plane meld is nigh
The plane meld is nigh
Our doom is drawing near

Chains of Darkness grip the land
And draw it ever near
To their nightmare, Down below
Where hope bows down to fear
Tearing souls of innocents
Into eternal pain
While their many minions
Sing praises of their name

The plane meld is nigh
The plane meld is nigh
As Spider Queen commands

The plane meld is nigh
The plane meld is nigh
Our doom is now at hand

A lovely song she had come across in her travels
Hidden: show
[parchment]

Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby
Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay
And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow
Bless you with love for the road that you go

May you sail fair to the far fields of fortune
With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet
And may you need never to banish misfortune
May you find kindness in all that you meet

May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

May you bring love and may you bring happiness
Be loved in return to the end of your days
Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you
I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay

May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay

Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay...

A lullaby back from when Annalena was young.
Hidden: show
[parchment]Goodnight my angel. Time to close your eyes.
And save these questions for another day.
I think I know what you've been asking me.
I think you know what I've been trying to say.
I promise I would never leave you.
And you should always know, I never will be far away.

Goodnight my angel, now it's time to sleep.
And still so many things I want to say.
Remember all the songs you sang for me.
When we went sailing on a emerald bay.
And like a boat out on the ocean. I'm rocking you to sleep.
The water is dark and deep inside this mother's heart.
You'll always be a part of me.

Goodnight my angel, now it's time to dream.
And dream how wonderfull your life will be.
Some day a child may cry and if you sing this lullaby.
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me.

A song she had come across in her travels, a family sang it and she has taken it upon herself to make use in the inspiration of the Temple of Lathander and those devout towards him.

Hidden: show
[parchment]In the morning when you rise
I bless the sun, I bless the skies
I bless your lips, I bless your eyes
My blessing goes with you.

In the nighttime when you sleep
Oh, I bless you while a watch I keep
As you lie in slumber deep
My blessing goes with you

This is my prayer for you
There for you, ever true
Each every day for you
In everything you do

And when you come to me
And hold me close to you
I bless you
And you bless me too

When your weary heart is tired
If the world would leave you uninspired
When nothing more of love's desire
My blessing goes with you

When the storms of life are strong
When you're wounded, when you don't belong
When you no longer hear my song
My blessing goes with you

This is my prayer for you
There for you, ever true
Each every day for you
In everything you do

And when you come to me
And hold me close to you
I bless you
And you bless me too

I bless you
And you bless me too

A recent poem written asked by another for another.
[parchment]
Ennui

Here I stand and look across.
My Sea of Hope dried by Loss.
I look down at my hands and see.
Water droplets falling away from me.

I turn about with out stretched hand.
Only to pass through a Shadowed Land.
What was, what is, what will be?
How did I let this pass by me?

Memories rise like Mountains tall.
And yet I poised myself to fall.
Was what I gave all I had?
Such thoughts as these drive me mad.

Now I wonder what to do.
Do I look back or turn away from you?

[parchment]I'm trying to hold my breath
Let it stay this way
Can't let this moment end
You set off a dream with me
Getting louder now
Can you hear it echoing?
Take my hand
Will you share this with me?
'Cause darling without you

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough

For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never enough
Never enough
For me
For me
For me

All the shine of a thousand spotlights
All the stars we steal from the nightsky
Will never be enough
Never be enough
Towers of gold are still too little
These hands could hold the world but it'll
Never be enough
Never be enough

For me
Never, never
Never, never
Never, for me
For me
Never enough
Never, never
Never enough

Never enough
For me
For me
For me

For me
