Bloodfreeze Arrow

It has DC of 15.

I would expect it to have the following DC:

10 (Base)
+3 (Spell Level)
+2 (Epic Caster Bonus)
+8 (Wisdom modifier)
= 23

Although technically it is an arrow based reserve feat/spell, it cannot be spammed. It comes with a timer, it cancels attack queue when activated and you need to attack a target almost instantly or it will fizzle away.

I'll look up the DC, otherwise I can make it non-instant so that it won't break action queue and bump the duration to 10 rounds if you feel it's too low (it's 3 rounds atm).

And after testing I have no DC issue, it calculates correctly. What's your weird corner case Simian ?

Before the first post: I was using it against trolls in the troll cave and I got a DC of 15. There are no other DC rolls in that area.

Now that I used it against some bandits I got the DC of 22. I relogged and it was still 22.

What I would expect to get:

10 (Base)
+ 4 (Spell level, I got it wrong previously.)
+ 8 (Wisdom, +7 without a +2 item)
+ 2 (Epic Caster Bonus, Ranger 27 currently.)
= 24

After using Arrowsplit, and then Bloodfeeze with Oneshot onto the same target, the DC fell to 21. I couldn't reproduce it.

Well I get a correct DC and no variation at all (and testing on the server).

What is your character's wisdom?

Anyhow, I am starting to wonder if it has some issue similar to Northlander Hewing where some maximum cap was too low.

Nothing like that here, my test char has only 18 wisdom sure but I changed it from 14 to 18 and it evolved correctly, same for epic caster DC.

After server reset, I used the Bloodfreeze arrow against the 'boss' trolls in the Troll Cave, the DC was 15 again.

The DC kept bouncing between 15 and 22 today. Until my character leveled up and the animal companion was unsummoned. She then got the accurate DC of 25 with Bloodfreeze. I'll do more testing tomorrow.

Is that with your companion out ? What's his wisdom score ?

DC 23 without animal companion. I summon animal companion, still got DC of 23. Some area transitions with companion and back to DC of 15.

The animal companion has wisdom of 12, hence if the arrow uses animal companion wisdom, then the DC of 15 makes sense. (10 (Base) + 1 (Wisdom) + 4 (Spell level))

Alright... I get proper dc for two three uses. Then it goes to 15... While occasionally it jumps to dc without epic caster bonus. I thought it might be related to arrow split... But the dc just breaks on its own. Resting does not fix it.
