tfunke - sharing the love

Unread post by tfunke »

Until a month and a half ago, I hadn't done artwork since high school (20 odd years). During the years I spent building areas for this server, I received many compliments on my "artistic eye", which would have all helped contribute to me getting into art recently.

Anyway, I wanted to share some of my paintings with the community, as some of them even look like they could be a part of faerun :)

Most recent painting and my first attempt at an original landscape painting. This is regional Victoria, in Australia. (original is 24' by 18', but this image is just a screen grab)

These are two of my earlier paintings from a few weeks ago. I've been learning to do landscapes painting along with the God known as Bob Ross :)

Thanks everyone :) I always enjoyed sharing my areas with you guys, so this is kinda the same thing for me. I've started a page on deviantart, so feel free to check it out once in awhile:

@steve: Yeah, I am using Krita, an open source painting program, that rivals photoshop etc.. but its specifically geared towards painting / sketching, that sort of thing.

The bottom two paintings I did using a mouse, but when my wrist began getting sore, I had to go buy a pen and tablet (which I used to paint "Arthur's Creek").

@Lisa haha well if the media team wants me to try and paint a loadscreen or something, I could give it a go :)

Hi again all :)

I've been getting into digital airbrush paintings lately and I just thought it would be fun to try and paint a D&D character or portrait. I'd be happy to attempt one, if someone has a good black and white line art sketch that they want coloured, perhaps of their current character or a scene? My line art isn't very good yet.
You can see the artstyle here:

I haven't played a game in just under a year Lock, just painting mostly.

Wanted to share my latest too, as it reminds me of the server a bit. Bluebells in the morning sun.
