Logged out continuously

Thought to post it here to see if more people have it.

I get logged out continuously from the forum. Wether it is on a Wi-Fi, LTE or 4G network. Phone, tablet, notebook doesn’t change a thing… The only odd thing is that it ONLY happens in Germany. Anywhere else in the world it doesn’t happen. I know of at least one other player living in Germany that has the same issue... and it only happens with this website.

It started rather recent... I’m not sure if it is connected but it started around the privacy declaration stuff you now have to sign for all the time.

Anyone any ideas on how to solve this? It’s slowly getting pretty annoying to have to log in 5 times before reading any pm :think:

Its happened to me here in the USA as well mate. Not sure what's going on.

No idea if this is the cause, but in the meanwhile I could ask what browser you are using? How are the cookie settings? For example on my other computer Firefox got some update that changed the cookie policies and settings which mean that NWN2db.com wouldn't remember my login after a page refreshed in any way.

I doubt that is the case since in all other countries I come it works with the same devices and browsers etc. Except in Germany... I didn’t try out the USA though.

Problem is she already asked me, and I just don't have a clue.
I even turned off the IP-checks for sessions, as that might log you out if you change IP-address halfway through. But that didn't change a thing.

If people that have this can give me more information, browsers, browser versions, anything that might help me reproduce this issue, then please do.

Not doing that.

The browser is Google Chrome. From Germany, Italy, Greece, Poland, UK, Russia...

Always fine. Except in Germany so far, where it can easily log you out every time you click to open a post or PM, every time you try to send anything, or post anything...multiple times in a row, even.

Started end of May, with the new GDPR rules. Quite big of a coincidence, in case it's unrelated.

That used to happen to everyone, but Zanniej fixed it a long time ago (maybe ~2 years?) Odd that it is occurring in some countries and not others.

It might be that those countries changed something when the Euro rules for data protection hit.

Especially Germany, since they do whatever the hell they want all the time, here :).

I wouldn't be so evil to fix something for everybody except Germany :roll:

I couldn't find anything regarding German laws or anything concerning the internet in Germany in my initial search ... but I'll keep digging. If any non-German people got some info for me on this, then please share ... it might help finding a common issue or something...

Doesn't change it. It doesn't seem to be an IP thing...

I'll turn it off again to give it a try, but last time Solaris reported no change.

Are you using the save password feature in Chrome ? Turn it ON

No problems from germany for myself. (using the Iron Browser)

Save password is only functional during the logon action. She's experiencing expired/invalidated sessions, triggered by a feature in phpbb3(time/ip) or the browser such as clear cookies on exit.

Nah jk ;) we’re countrymen after all 8-)

I just have no idea but right now Im in Romania... No problem whatsoever!
If Teo has the problem too it might not be just Germany... I use T-Mobile and Vodafone in Germany... not sure if that is relevant...
