Warsling Sniper
Heya,
i play a warsling sniper and i have noticed a few irregularities (i think)
my character uses a fighter build, meaning STR and specialization + ranged weapon mastery.
when i use bullets that inflict elemental damage, Things seems to Work fine, except that not all of the damage seems to transfer to other targets when ricochetting.
when i use bullets that do bludgeoning damage (+1d6) i do not do any additional damage. maybe it is because i have ranged weapon mastery and the extra bludgeoning damage does not stack with tit? im not sure.
its a relly cool class, so i thought i would report it, which should allow u Guys to test it and fix it, thanks!

Re: Warsling Sniper
Actually bullets are bludgeoning damage and because of a game bug damage modifiers of the same damage kind are not applied. You can't have longswords with additional slashing damage or rapiers with additional piercing damage, so these bludgeoning bullets are most likely a fraud !

Hello there,
It is a problem regarding the ranged weapon mastery feat.
I have looked into this extensively, and my findings are that i have a minimum physical damage with each ranged attack/shot that is two points lower than should be possible.
So to be clear, my char does damage based on and from strength, weapon specialization, enchantment bonus from weapon, additional piercing damage from weapon. The weapon itself does 1d4 damage, so a roll of 1 would be min dam.
In addition to the above, i have ranged weapon mastery that should add +2 damage each shot, but it is NOT counted at all. I think this is very strange because the weapon mastery feats seem to Work perfectly fine for melee warriors, with damage stacking as intended.
could something be done about this? If valefort is correct about it being an issue of bludgeoning damage not stacking with each other, could the type of damage for ranged weapon mastery be changed?
thanks in advance.

Re: Warsling Sniper
Weapon mastery is accounted for. I think its something else.
Could you post a calculation of what you think your damage should be? Including feats, weapon stats, ability score etc...

Re: Warsling Sniper
Hello,
absolutely,
It was important for me to create a slinger that did not use EDM, nor relied on sneak attack. So i came up with my current build, which allows good damage from a distance. Fidgeting or making bug reports because of 2-4 dam "missing" might seen like small potatoes, but its a big deal to me, would be like picking weapon spez and greater weapon spez and then not actually getting the additional damage.
My character is a hin, and gains benefit from using slings two-handed (STR bonus x 1.5)
All slings are mighty, and Theres no limit as to how much damage you can add from STR.
My character has 22 STR, meaning +6 one-handed and +9 two handed.
I have the Stunshot sling.
Sling(Physical dam): 1d4 dam + 9 (STR) + 6 (Epic Spez) + 4 bludgeoning (Enchantment on sling) + 1 piercing (From sling) + 2 bludgeoning (ranged weapon mastery).
This Means my char should do 1d4+22 (23 Min) damage per shot physical damage + 1 sonic (sling) + 1 electrical (sling) + 2 acid (elemental Archer).
I have screenshots of my char doing 20, 21, 22 physical damage against enemies, without there being any visible reduction due to damage reduction or similar. I have noticed this against various enemies.
Also, as i wrote in another post above, using smiting bullets (+1d6 bludgeoning damage) has no effect on my damage output at all.
So, something is off, i thought it was the fact that bludgeoning damage from slings/ranged weapons do not seem to stack properly, this includes by the way when using ricochet shot, wher only part of the damage is taken by additional Struck targets.
If you need more information or testing, please let me know.
Cheers

Re: Warsling Sniper
I've fixed the script. It didn't calculate the ability modifier correctly for bows and slings.
This will be published with the next server update.

As I started playing Hin slinger as well, I believe the issue is that the 1.5 str mod is not applying and that is why he is seeing less damage than expected.

Re: Warsling Sniper
elloes,
"bump"
blacksoft is correct, the damage from STR is not calculated correctly, i do +6 dam from STR when i use the sling two-handed, instead of +9 dam from STR 22 (x 1,5). it makes a big difference to me dam-wise, so i would appreciate it if this could be fixed.
cheers
