Greypeak beholders
Are these guys supposed to cast, or gaze, or fight back, or something? Atm, they’re just floating punching bags.

Even if they occasionally use a ray attack - it has a very very low dc for an epic beholder.

Rays with a dc of 14 are much too weak for that area.

Re: Greypeak beholders
Not sure what you’re getting at here Lock. Powerbuild’s don’t matter vs greypeak beholders because they don’t fight back! Nothing! They just float there.
This is an epic area and beholders are one of the more feared monsters in the realms. I think the challenge deserves to be ramped up somewhat. (I won’t lie, I also love seeing those uppity spell casters get dispelled down to the bone!)

Okay Lock, I’ll back off.
When the epic monsters with rows of teeth and innate death magic get some love ...
Also, what about those Naga in the Wyrm Cave that just don’t initiate combat???

You are too strong for them to even think of what to do. they are just stunned and bask in your godlike appearance until they die.Hammer_Song wrote: Also, what about those Naga in the Wyrm Cave that just don’t initiate combat???

Re: Greypeak beholders
The baby beholder in the gnoll caves acts in a similar way... no movement, no attacking animations. It does still attack, but for some reason it felt like it was only every 2 or 3 rounds that it did.
There are no level 30's, only level 20's with benefits...

Some Drider Arcanists in the UD do not react anymore, either.
This twisted culture got you feeding from its hand
But you will lose that food if you don't meet all their demands
And loyal is the soldier that gets slaughtered with the lambs
Examining the blueprints got you questioning the plans
