From what I've seen everyone is useless at the start. As you level things get easier for casters. They get easier for fighters as well, but not QUITE as easier.

As Evidence, I offer this picture.

I, a wizard, am killing things while barely being anywhere within sight because I can order my summons to go attack stuff and walk them around with control minion.

Also, yeah, Casters run out of resources quickly. Grab some Reserve Feats.

Wizard is easy to level up until around 23, but it's going to be slow. Even after 23, it is "easy", but it gets really slow or significantly more challenging. The slow choice is just continuing to do what you did before, but getting lower XP per kill. The more challenging part is where you end up going places where your summon just won't cut it anymore. You'll then have to get going with dominate monster.

Of course, that is if dominating a creature is something your character would do.

The problem I see:
It's more of a player issue than a server sided problem. If it's things such as cost difference of wands, scrolls, etc.

The reasoning behind it:
I have to keep telling others that you have to focus on EXP or Gold, depending on what you desire the most at that specific time. Because it's not hard to speed through the areas that are a breeze for your current PC's level/gear in order to get gold at a faster rate.

Before the loot tables changed, from level 1 to 12 I gained 80,000+ gold in roughly less than 2 weeks as a result of the above when solo'ing at the time. As that was all I did in that time frame with said PC. Now, it's easier to gain gold overall due to the recent changes rates. Or so it feels like.

Example is just today I made approximately 8,000+ gold, in what seems like less than 15 minutes to sell the junk to a Candlekeep vendor, after running around the Bauldur's Gate sewers to get the Stolen Ring quest done. Keep in mind that was just from the chests and enemy drops found on the one map of that area in said sewers.

Now with all that said, the scrolls made be a caster I would take over any scroll sold by a vendor as they are usually far more powerful. So while they might cost more, they will last longer and will be harder to dispel. So overall they are more reliable to have on hand. Correct me on the dispel part if I am wrong, please.

The same principles of scrolls are applied to wands found out and about in drops and vendors over a caster making them for you. It's also significantly cheaper to recharge them in the end, compared to what I payed for them after PC markup. And this is probably why the cost comparison is what they are.

I sent you a PM regarding playing a none-shifting druid, OP.

Aside from that, I do agree on the lack of consumables (scrolls mainly) for druids and clerics (to an extent) sold in stores. Many useful wizard spells are sold in stores, such as teleport, trace teleport, dimensional lock, and energy drain, and greater spell breach. IMO, druids could use a few more like:

Travel by Plant, Tree Stride, Faerie Fire, Restoration.

Just a few basic ones, teleportation spells and a couple of their support spells. Maybe even RP spells, like cleric's augury.

It is a real hassle to have to mule items back and forth (good luck finding a player who is consistently active all time-zones in both the UD and Surface with scribe scroll + cleric or druid), in order to achieve the same results as wizard imo.

Scrolls have a max CL of 15 (super low, instantly dispelled). Plus, you need to find someone willing to spend the extra time to scribe (and again, GL finding a cleric or a druid who took scribe scroll and can reliably show up to scribe for you). Generally, you want to scribe scrolls of either RP spells or spells less reliant on CL.

Good to know about the CL of 15!

And there is a market for such things if it's rare to find such Clerics and Druids, and I have seen them in the past advertising such in-game. With that said, while they are rare I think it would be ideal to let the players decide on how to handle it in-game rather than to take away what already is.

Now, one could also....

Create an alt specifically to handle such scrolls for your main.

And with the 100% RCR going on, it might not be a bad idea to do that sooner than later for players rather than to wait on a solution from some team of BGTSCC to resolve such that's a bit unnecessary to begin with.
