In Memorium: Chryo (Olrich Gaelin, Paladin of Mystra)
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform the NWN2 community of the passing of Jason Sullenberger, known to us as Chryo, who played a variety of PCs over the years. Most recently, he played Sir Olrich Gaelin, a paladin of Mystra who was involved in both Candlekeep and the Church of Mystra.
I learned of his passing, which occurred yesterday morning, November 2nd, this morning via Facebook. I have since reached out to his family through that medium, and I have received their permission to inform everyone of what happened by posting a link to the GoFundMe that they established at the time of the incident. The details are all written there.

I first met Jason at the start of 2013 when we ended up in the same guild on another NWN2 PW, Tales of Amn. We became good friends and then gamed together on the PW called Legacy: Dark Age of Britain. We lost contact for a while, and then we reconnected here on BG when my PC, Alexandra Keenan, met his PC, Olrich Gaelin. Olrich was Alexandra's first on-screen love interest, and he remained so until Jason's health issues forced him to stop playing the game. When that happened, we remained in contact, and he'd tell me about his treatments and surgeries.
Things seemed to be going well for him; he RCRed Olrich during the recent 100% period and made an elf PC that he intended to play as a guard for Candlekeep. The CK Discord still shows him there, listed as online but "busy." His sister told me that their mother kept everything in his room as-is in the hopes that he'd return to it all soon.
Jason wasn't just an "online friend" to me. He was a real friend, and I have shed real tears today. He was only 28 years old - far too young to be taken from all who cared for him.
Please keep his family in your heart during this most difficult time.

I remember this guy even if we didn't RP very much - I recall I really liked his Mystran paladin and was sad he wasn't around any more but never knew the why.
It's quite heart wrenching what happened, and the realization that it can happen so easily - too easily.

My condolences to all of you and especially his family.
As I said on Discord, I think we should make him a permanent in game memorial... so sad.

This please. Candlekeep seems the best option. Maybe somewhere near their shrine to Mystra.LISA100595 wrote:I think we should make him a permanent in game memorial... so sad.

The more a community grows , the more the chances of hearing tragic stories like these..
Hopefully he will be dealt a better hand next time.
