Re: Metagaming: Rules should exist
Well the biggest problem that I see here is that Sshamath is welcoming to all races that can practice magic-- a fair bit of a difference than the welcome Drow get on the surface. It also seems like right now plenty of UD PCs want to come to the surface. The same can not be said of surfacers to the UD from all the UD player complaints I have seen about the lack of population down there. Leaving quests open is an attraction to surfacers to venture to the UD however small. I don't even see that many surfacers even pursuing UD quests to be honest. I only know of the wizard requesting the basilisk egg myself because that is right across from Gloura's Wings. I have done it exactly twice with surface characters. The interaction with the wizard does not preclude any race; it would be odd and out of character if he started telling surfacers to push off. He wants the basilisk egg; I don't see him caring how he comes by it. For that matter I also see nothing wrong with leaving surface quests open to UD PCs. If a UD PC can disguises themselves well enough to make it past the Fist and into the city then I doubt Maltz would be so suspicious in who he makes his offer to.

The guy in Nashkel will, but I always taunt him and laugh at Nashkel being burned and thus gain some evil points, refusing the quest in fact.Leaf_Smoker wrote:Maltz? Are you sure this has been done recently? I can't imagine that I actually missed Maltz. Guess I'll have to check. NPC quest givers on the surface should not give quests to drow.
That's the only "quest" I've ever "done" on the surface. It's fun to taunt the NPC's! I hope you leave that option there, even if you disable the quest. (which I think is enabled but I've never tried it)
As far as I know, all UD quests are do-able by surfacers. However, if you think about the lore of Sshamath, any magic using surfacer is welcome in town . . . Thus, it makes sense they can do the quests, although the Drow will still treat them like dirt.Molag__Bal wrote:I suppose it's okay for surfacer's to head down to Sshamath and pick up 4.2k xp doing all the UD quests?
