A Cause for a New Tymount

The village of Tymount, once located north of the Winding Water in the Fields of the Dead, came under attack by trolls being driven on by fiends. A group of intrepid adventurers, organized by the Order of the Radiant Heart, managed to ferry most the people of Tymount and the surrounding farmlands south, by magic, to Baldur's Gate, where they camped as refugees, for many months, until Alturiak of 1355 by Dale Reckoning, when a total destruction of Tymount was realized, and the Tymountians themselves accepting that for "the foreseeable future, they will be settled in Baldur's Gate."

"The camp itself has been shrinking every day, and is now much smaller, increasingly hosting new arrivals who soon move on with the guidance of the clergy or of their own accord. That is not to say there is not need, but it is no longer the humanitarian crisis it once was."

Now, as the spring season sets into full swing upon the Sword Coast, "large numbers remain in collective shelters in Baldur's Gate." Its not yet clear how they will make their way...because as it stands, many housed, sheltered, working and living Tymountians with the Gate, still seek to return to their Homeland, yearning to be once again among the spirits of their ancestors, to retake their namesake, and see their community become whole once again....

Similar parchments may been seen or acquired with the Eastern District, the Palace District, as well as within the currently shrinking Refugee Camp in the Eastern Farmlands. Rumor floats that some similarly written parchments have made their way to certain Temples and Chapterhouses....

A Cause for a New Tymount

Good People of Baldur's Gate, Faithful to Triad, Believers in Justice, Honor and Courage~

I, Henryk of house Urde, Sword of Tyr and knight errant to the Temple of the Just God of Baldur's Gate, do summon you to the idea of the fulfillment of a Peoples desire to regain their homelands, reclaim their birthing grounds and in defense of the elders that spirit-walk the grounds of so many families passed....

It is a New Tymount, the future that is presented to you now, in league with the Mayor Gillan of Tymount and the many Peoples of this township that have, for Tendays of great number, held steadfast against the condition of Refugee, and now, still, after harsh winter and the latest word that their home, Tymount, has been destroyed...they YET STILL yearn to reclaim what was lost. This is courage seen in a most divine light, inspirational, and worth directing support to seeing a thing manifest.

For that thing shall be a New Tymount, one rebuilt under compensation through rights after wrong, and through the initiative of compassionate souls of Baldur's Gate and the greater Sword Coast, that understand with faithful conviction that suffering can be healed, through true acts of just vengeance.

It is true that many of the Tymount citizens have taken up new livelihoods in the reality of the only options left or offered, until now...but having spoken with the Mayor Gillan who speaks true of his People's desires, and knowing that the young and fit and earnest of the Tymount-that-was seek to take up arms in order to fight back against the Evil that has displaced. If one is of courage to fight against the Devils to reclaim their honor, than one is worthy of gaining that which is the greatest loss. I beseech you to understand there is no greater gift given to one that has lost, than that of a returned honor.

Honor is found within homelands. Homelands being the People's strength.

Thus I, Henryk a Sword of Tyr, along with the People of Tymount that still hold up banner in Honor of the Name, petition you to pull resource and Faith toward backing a New Tymount, one that can rise from the destruction laid to it when dust has cleared, and one where a Faithful and Practical relationship with the City of Baldur's Gate shall bridge a greater Lawfulness along the Coast Way, the Trade Way, and beyond.

To this end, you may consult further with the Temple of Tyr, myself in diplomatic development, and with the Mayor Gillan, shall you seek him, for he continues to be the ear, eye and mouth of his remaining People, who are faith bound to a future tied and strengthened by the past.

Henryk the Damaran, the Sword of Tyr of the Temple of Tyr in Baldur's Gate, outspoken champion to the Cause for a New Tymount, this day, addresses a number of Tymountian groups as found within the communal shelters supported by the Temples of Ilmater and Tyr within Baldur's Gate, with an idea that the Mayor, Gillan, also stands at this side, along with those who have been called The Tymount Ten, in order to speak to the Tymountians that still hold Faith and Purpose as a Community:

"Peoples of Tymount past and Tymount-that-will-Be...I, Henryk of house Urde, Sword of Tyr and upholder of the Cause spoken for a New Tymount, take great pride in being able to speak to you as recognized Champion to the Community that you continue to hold Faith in, that is tied into Spirit of Homeland and Familial Past. For it has been given unto me the responsibility to represent you in the Duchal Court as liaison to the Cause, that being a New Tymount, that will grow from the ashes made by action of both forces under Evil act as well as those of Good intention. Mayor Gillan, who continues to never waver in his leadership, has asked that the Church of the Just God, be the Word of the Peoples of this New Tymount that rises out of the Old, and the Temple of Baldur's Gate, that being the Abbot Sulnar that has made great act to support the housing and care of many of the Tymountians to flourish inside the walls of the Gate, has given me Right to speak on behalf of the Church, which acts to see Just Vengeance delivered to a People that have seen suffering, such as the case, here.

Furthermore, it is that I deliver to you these two official banners, that being of said New Tymount, that being symbols in form under which all desire can manifest. Let this banners fly high overhead, where ever you may be sheltered or free...and let these banners be a stepping stone to that which is Due you be all that is Right in balance, being a New Tymount, and livelihood and purpose. Let these banners give you Name and Strength, more so even, Faith, and ask of me, Henryk, the Sword of Tyr, your Champion, along with the now well trained Tymount Ten of Tyr, to serve you...until that which is desired and owed, comes to pass.

And, let us not forget those Others who have made effort, directly so, to empower you in purpose, and now, if we shall ask of them more, to empower you in Name. Do give credit to the Golden Arrow Company, who have aided and promised more, and to the Fox, and his dealings with other Companies of the south, who make aid available when previous gifted reserves run low. Let us say that the Good Willed and the Good Faithed have appeared when the need was fresh, adn for this, appreciation is not forgotten.

But now the shift in purpose has come, and there is no longer need to act rash and with desperation to seek a future away from your known community and homelands. It is a Time to pave a clear path ahead, one that cannot be achieved unless together, you many Tymountians rallye behind said banner of a New Tymount. Hold together with purpose, and I will speak on your behalf with great Zeal and Faith, that further support shall be gathered behind your Cause."

Among those most keen on Court dealings within Baldur's Gate, it is said that a knight-errant bearing banner from the Temple of Tyr did enter the Ducal Court and Palace, and is said to have made some sort of formal introduction and address...though behind doors closed to many not of the courtiers of the realms.

Those with past concern of the Tymount Refugee Camp and the current state of affairs related to the Tymountians within the Gate, may put pieces together that the knight-errant, most likely that named knight Henryk the Damaran, the Sword of Tyr, was carrying forward with the Cause for a New Tymount, having been proclaimed by notice some many Tendays past.

*The Copper Fox is steadfastly present in the camp, tossing dice and spinning campfire tales in the evenings. He typically disappears in the wee hours to return by mid morning, continuing to help with camp chores and morale. He is quick to engage the residents, asking after their needs as well as the more abstract hopes and dreams should they be willing to confess them. He constantly reminds them of those fighting for their homeland, a new Tymount and points often to the banners raised by Henryk of Urde. All in all he does essentially whatever is asked of him as long as it aligns with the path he walks in order to keep hope alive for the refugees.*

Henryk the Damaran may be noticed speaking to the Fox this Tenday of Mirtul, within the far dwindled population of the Camp, perhaps before of after Henryk is active with training with the Tymount Ten force, with or without the support of the Golden Arrow Company (of late).

Henryk speaks openly to the Fox about attention within the actual Ducal Court, to the Cause for a New Tymount...or, the lack of it...but that so far Henryk’s role to represent The Tymountians has not yet wavered.

Henryk goes on to ask the Fox to act as envoy with Coast Way merchants about supplies, of which the Fox has been successful of manifesting prior.

Specifically, Henryk asks the Fox to acquire the best deal for materials required to rebuild a village, and to b precise, what gold amount would suffice to start such an investment.

On this day, Awakened Djion, Novice of Lathander, and Sir Arledge Arnemeiger, Paladin of the Triad addressed the people of Tyrmount at the East Gate refugee camp. Though the one spoke eloquently of hope, rebirth, and the other of courage and strength of heart, the townsfolk were not greatly cheered by the efforts of the pair.

In the days that follow, Djion, novice of Lathander, she continues to lead services of prayer three times daily for the poor folk of Tyrmount and lending her aid as a healer to bring forth a new life into the world. Djion was joined by Reiker of Sune, Midnight of Liira, Emeth of Hadora, Thibault of Tempus and Sir Arledge of the Triad at a dawn service of thanksgiving for the gift of a newborn citizen to the people of Tyrmount.

Reiker and Midnight brought with them fresh supplies of food and drink for the people of the ruined town, while Sir Arledge made a generous gift of a golden necklace to the family of the babe.

Later that same day, Djion, Nuerune and stout Michael Dunn, who volunteered to escort the saintly maiden southwards, that supplies of vital import - vials of a substance to purify food and drink- were safely delivered to the people of Tyrmount.

23rd of Myrtul DR1354

On this day, golden Abraxis attended upon the people of new Tyrmount with a gift of gold and supplies. On learning from Djion that a merchant of Amn, travelling to the encampment with a donation of coin to make apprentices of two young orphans of Tyrmount, offered spell-aid for it's retrieval.

So it was that Djion and the noble follower of Siamorphe, Armande, delved deep into the kobold ruins to recover said funds, said Armande being confronted much to his surprise by a certain talking-troll-shaped Novice of Lathander within the bowels of the former keep.

Presently, said funds were recovered and delivered to Tyrmount, where two excited youths now look to their future's as a Tanner and a Smith.

Further booms for the cause of New Tymount appeared this day also, with Thibault of Tempus and of the Black Lion Order of the Lion Coalition making a donation of fine silver weapons with which the townsfolk's defenders could arm themselves against new dangers.
