What are all the cool clerics building these days?

Heard Divine Power is getting obliterated and that there's going to be an 100% RCR period so I figure I might take advantage of that!

I've been away from the game for a bit and I'm thinking of switching my character (Divine Might FS/Cleric/Rogue) into a full cleric since Divine Power is going to the place where all of the good spells go and I've also got an astronomical multiclass EXP penalty - I was thinking of going cleric because I could just say that my character's been at cleric school.

Alternatively, would I be better off with a different build altogether? I get the impression that divine classes are really weak but let's be real, I have no idea how builds work on this game.

FYI, Hierophant will require 19 Wisdom, or so I hear.

What's your character concept? Melee? Caster? Summoner? What god does your character follow? I think there are plenty of options that could fit different concepts.

Yeah, it'd be a full on switch to cleric.

He's supposed to be a divinely powered swordsman, I'm thinking more of the melee or caster (or both, if possible?) rather than summoner. Neutral good Triadist - kinda torn between Torm and Ilmater for his patron, considering his values fall squarely between those two deities.

It's getting a new formula. And if you go something like cleric20/hospitaler10, it's going to be even better than before.

You now get an AB bonus of hd/4+1 or cl/4+1 whichever is lower. That means if you're just an average level 30 cleric, you'll get 8 AB extra. Before, you'd get your BAB set to your HD (so 30 in this case), which is 8 bab higher.

It means you lose the last attack on the DP, but the AB remains the same. And if you go the cleric/hospitaler I just mentioned, you're still getting +8 AB, and that will make you have higher AB than the old use of DP gave you.

Hospitalier looks like it'd fit my character concept nicely, especially if I picked Ilmater as his patron deity.

Would there be any chance of somehow stuffing 3 levels of Rogue in there, for UMD/Tumble/skill points?

What would a 20 cleric/ 7 hospitalier/3 rogue (or 17 cleric/10 hospitalier/3 rogue) build look like, and be capable of? What feats should I be going for? I know I can't do EDM, because it's just plain impossible to get 21 str, 19 wis, and 21 cha

If you're going for Hospitaler 10 and Rogue 3, I'd recommend progressing into Hierophant rather than pure cleric enough to get all three Spellpowers. Hospitaler is going to lose 4 CL and Rogue is another 3. Practiced Spellcaster will make up 4, and Hierophant will cover the rest for a full 30 CL.

I don't think iıt would be possible to fit Hierophant in there with hospitaler and rogue due to the 3b20 rule though. at 20 you would look at 11cleric/3rogue/3hospitaler/3hierophant levels. Unfortunately, 11 cleric and 3 hospitaler do not qualify for hiero's 7th circle spellcasting requirement.

Yep, my mistake. Just cuts it short by 1 CL from the 13 needed to get 7th level spells prior to 17. I suppose if Rogue levels were just there for Tumble and skill ranks, though, could take Harper Agent instead. Will miss out on Evasion and full UMD progression, and has the RP requirement of having the character tied in with the Harpers.

I'm after the UMD and my character wouldn't really fit with the Harpers, unfortunately!

Is 30 caster level mandatory for casters? I understand that dispels are extremely powerful on this game (currently, anything I run into can cast Dispel on me and every buff I've cast falls off).

Also, would cleric/hospitalier be a "spend one minute buffing before you enter combat" playstyle? I don't find that too enjoyable considering things are usually dead by the time I have buffs up, and the buffs are so easily dispelled.

Would a full-on caster cleric be better?

Melee orientated casters do fine with just the basic buffs (armor, saves, gmw) most of the time .....

Regarding caster level it's well playable without CL30. Depending of the area it's just a bit more difficult/interesting.
Even my hedge mage with CL13 does fine, i'm astounded every time - how long his weak buffs stay up.

Get still spell and Silent spell.

Then pick the 3 epic feats, Auto still and the three epic feats, Auto silent.
You now cast spells without speaking or moving.
