Updated Jegs?

With all the nerfs and changes since the last published bgtscc jegs module, could we please get an updated version? Thank you.

Not only has Valefort mentioned in the past how boring it is to make a JEGs every time BGTSCC gets Content updates, the last time he actually gave it a try, it was not working, at all.

As I can tell, no one with expertise enough to attempt the work, besides Val, has stepped up to get it working properly. Which means, probably not going to happen (sorry to say).

Wouldn't it be an option to make an OOC room on BGTSCC that allows people to level up to 30 and try out their talents a bit on a dummy?
Something you can teleport to from the nexus.

For example a feat that you could take at lvl 1 that granted a bunch of xp but at the same time wouldn't let Mystra teleport you into the game nor RCR? Sounds like a lot of work to implement tbh. And you could probably scribe a bunch of scrolls or something using this. Sadly people would find a way to abuse it.

use NWN2DB

then Kaedrin pack

always keep reference notes of classes and skills from BGTSCC (exemple : google --» type --» bgtscc + monk... then new tab, bgtscc + shadow dancer, ect...
along with the new skills and always check if the skills match ... because bgtscc has changed some skills for some class also...

Kardrin pack is a tool that is not accurate at 100% but is much helpfull you can make builts up to the lv you want and place feats, class, attributes, skills, ect...

so you get a pretty good Idea on the final result even if not accurate totally.

While it would be awesome if there was a Server-based JEGs, which wouldn’t require constant updating AND would actually grant Players the chance to experiment with scripts that can’t even be supported by JEGs, I can only just imagine without glee the taxation on Server resources with the sheer number of a Players that would spent all their time theory crafting and whacking dummies, instead of RPing a Character.

Maybe I’m worried I’d fall into that trap!! :lol: :naughty:

Not that this happens often anymore, but imagine a full Server population with Players on the outside waiting to get in but 20 a Players in the JEGs room whacking off and chatting about how big their DC can get. :shifty:

Depending on the server hardware, there might be a relatively easy solution...

Run two instances of the game. One is just normal BGTSCC. The other disables Mystra/Shaundakul, puts in a few target dummies somewhere in the Nexus or tutorial dungeon, and automatically levels everyone to 30. The difference can probably be accomplished just by adding an extra script to the second server instance.
