A gold elf sits in the courtyard of the Friendly Arm Inn. His darkened blue and silver armor seems to both repel and absorb light at the same time. Sitting in front of him, within reach, is an old tome. When examined, it radiates an overwhelming aura of conjuration magic. "This tome is for sale to the highest bidder, should any be interested."

A dwarf in chainmail approaches. He ponders before the book, and states finally that he offers 50 bags of gold for it.

A diminutive robed man steps forth. Amber, cat-like eyes quickly inspect both the offered tome and the seller.
"I will offer one hundred bags for such a tome" he says in a soft voice, before leaning upon a staff, awaiting the elf's reply..

The Elf eyes the newcomer, nodding at his proposal. "That is sufficient unless the stout here wishes to object?"

Amber eyes narrow, if only slightly, and the small fellow speaks again..

"Two hundred and fifty" he says softly, though with a certain determination.

The dwarf rubs his beard a little while, "Very high this goes for such a tome. Shall I say 270? I do!".

Several moments pass before the robed man pipes up once again.

"Make it three hundred bags.. "

The elf, sitting quietly to the side watching the engagement, smiles a bit. “That amount is enough. The tome is yours.”
