Spot vs Hide flavor
When sneaking characters are detected with listen, their model remains colored in black. Is it possible to do the same for spot? Character detected with spot look like characters who just pass by or are afk and it causes a lot of confusion. You can't figure out if the character is sneaking at the moment or not. RP wise it makes a lot of sense too because sneaking characters do their best to blend with the environment and get lost in the shadows, they're not just becoming invisible.

Heck, just playing the sneak animations would be a massive improvement... When I'm sneaking with others, I can never tell if they're in stealth mode or not.KOPOJIbPAKOB wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2019 10:35 am When sneaking characters are detected with listen, their model remains colored in black. Re: Spot vs Hide flavor
the blackout for listen is a default engine mechanic and most all of stealth/detection is hardcoded so... not sure? but if its possible and as long as its only a visual thing there should be nothing wrong with it
everyone is evil till proven otherwise

Sundren, one of the servers I played on, had a Mask Icon that would go over someone's head to dictate that they are in disguise. So if you see through their disguise it creates that icon over their head you can see.
What if players who are in Stealth get an icon over their head while they are in stealth? I dunno, some creeping footprints or some such? Or a smiley face with a Bandit Mask or something B-)
Or change the color of the name to a different color that signifies the person is attempting to use stealth. There's a number of ways to do this, I believe.

Chaos is relative. What is normal for the Spider is Chaos for the Fly.

Sadly, stealth being a hardcoded mechanic, our odds of getting any meaningful changes are drastically lower.kitteninablender wrote: ↑Mon Dec 23, 2019 2:00 am Sundren, one of the servers I played on, had a Mask Icon that would go over someone's head to dictate that they are in disguise.
