... and doesn't re-equip it like with other items, meaning you have to close the Kit, manually re-equip it, then open the Kit again. Which then just repeats the issue.
The issue can be fixed by the user by opening the Kit, selecting the change model part option, and immediately Confirming the appearance you already have before you change the appearance.
This also seems to affect shields.
