GaretAthran wrote: Sun Apr 12, 2020 10:08 pm An illustration is posted in many places across Baldur's Gate, it is described as follows:
A rather generally drawn humanoid shape is holding a stick and poking it into the backside of what is clearly a bear while the bear looks back at the source of the poking very angrily. Between the bear and the person is a very thin fence. The person is labeled with the words "The Radiant Heart, House Darius & House Vale" while the bear is labeled with the words "The Zhentarim." The fence between the two bears the label "Baldur's Gate Trade Treaty."

Beneath the picture is written the caption "You can only poke a bear in the backside so many times before it turns around and bites your face off."
((If someone would like to draw this, I'd love to see it.
Below this is written:
"The Zhentarim may be a bear. But, the Lady pf Strategy favors the underdog who fights for what is right."
Written beneath that in flowing and delicate script:
"The only underdog here are the people of this city who don't want or need another war, you warmonger."
Drawn beneath on a piece of paper that got nailed onto the thing is the following:

On one side

The holy symbols of the Deneir, Eldath, Lliira, Mielikki, Milil, Mystra, Oghma, Selûne, Tymora, Torm, Helm, Tyr, Red Knight, Tempus, Valkur, Lathander, Ilmater, Corellon, Sehanine, Fenmarel, Labelas, Sashelas, Erevan, Aerdrie, Hanali, Shevarash, Angharradh, Rillifane, Solonor, Mythrien, Tethrin, Vandria, Melira and finally Bahamut.

On the other side, a single phrase "Tyranny and rule through fear and threats."

Added to the bottom: "If anything, the bear's caption should be changed to the forces of light, and the one poking be the one called Zhentarim. The fence itself shall merely be a treaty written through manipulation and lack of options that are no longer relevant."

"When the Lord of Murder threatened Ilmater, He sent forth Saint Merielle and Jonas Rokrannon, along an army of retainers to crush his precious temple, going so far as having it converted to a temple of Garl Glittergold and a friendly inn.

When the BitchQueen sought to hurt elves, the Seldarine themselves banished her back to the depths.

Fear not those who threaten you with their dark gods or dark deeds, but instead look upon the symbols on this list, feel their love and know without a doubt their light shall protect you - such is the alliance of 720DR"

When a blonde cheery sun elf walks by, she looks at the whole thing, and reads through the commentery with a slight chuckle and a few shakes of her head. A mischievous smirk rise to her face and she hurries away only to return a few moments alter with a wooden plank, some red paint and a brush.
Drawing a red heart at the frame of the plank, inside the Elf writes:
"Love for All." and adding a mustache to the bear, she giggles and continues on her day.

Marietta happened upon the... clusterchuck of papers, and honked loudly in laughter, one hand clutching her abdomen.

Below Atria's rambling comment, she wrote with a charcoal pencil:

Do you even know how contracts work, you twit? They don't become nullified just because you whinge about morals in politics and economics, where morals do not belong.

And below Aaron's:

We all know you only do this because you long to be the martyr in your own public struggle, as long as everyone can observe your struggle.

Osric notes the illustration's author with an arched brow. "It seems the priest the God of War is ... preaching against war? How curious. Perhaps the Lord Commandante is less a faithful of Tempus and more a collaborator with the Zhentarim."

He shrugs and leaves the written exchange below the original drawing well enough alone, departing to update his records.

At some time amid the flurry of posted notes, it seems someone has taken issue with the long, long, long list of Gods. Rather than replying, however, this person seems to have merely affixed a dead halibut to the board covering much of this note, held by a nail stuck through the fish's tail. (Those attempting to remove it would find the nail to hold a weak, petty curse, a spiteful annoyance to any trying to get the dirty fish off there.)

Once one looks past the dead fish, one would find only a couple alterations; written haphazardly in cheap paint, on both sides of the dividing line, is simply:
NoT QUEEN UMBERLEE

The only other bit of apparent graffiti is a rushed brush of paint covering the line mentioning the Bi- Sea Queen, accompanied by the painted phrase:

A note is left by a man wearing a white armor.
The man seems to be well trained, especially because of his warmace on his back.
It's all nice and good... But after all this bickering, when am I getting paid?
The treaty, alas, will hold for as long as the Dukes will say so.

Victoria Thornhart is seen walking by the display, pausing in her steps as she notices it. She slowly tilts her head to one side as her expression grows ever more perplexed.

"This... all seems like a perfectly good waste of resources. Especially the halibut."

The Banite then tries to remove the fish before cursing.

A man in black mail, favored in scarlet, comes to this: the most notorious post in the city, scribblings and fish, a wish of what isn't written into the void. Some time, some care, but the parchment's beyond repair, much the worse for wear; he Removes Curse in despair, and there, on the nail that had suspended the halibut of all places, he leaves a leather cord spinning a coin with two faces.

He leaves the inelegant conversation as a wad of refuse in the nearest waste bin, though careful to leave the fish on top so if someone were to look within, they'd see the most useful contribution first of all.

A waiflike looking hin in ragged clothes, probably in his late-teens, and sporting a crop of red hair, can be seen clamoring up the side of the waste bin shortly thereafter. It takes him a while to fish around in the bin, a tiny echo of, "... oi, holy crap, a tuna!", reverberating through the bin as he rummaged.

Eventually the halfling extricates himself from the rubbish container, tucking his prize under his arm while a woman in dark attire and a man in gleaming armor wandered past... and moments after that, the pitter-patter of bare feet would be heard, as the scrubby hin dashed off towards the docks.

And so, the story of the halibut came to a satisfying end. For a certain waif of a hin, at least.
There are no level 30's, only level 20's with benefits...

Posted outside The Radiant Heart Compound and a separate notice within the city.

When asked about The Black Orc Raid upon Baldurian farmlands that cost so many lives and caused such economic strain, the same orcs historically known to have been trained and armed by Zhentil Keep.

The current leader of Darkhold declared. "Nobody cares what happened ten years ago"

The Radiant Heart would remind her was only seven years past.
