Sincerest condolences Side. It is still so fresh for you and to need to keep working when many would be taking extra Bereavement time or even FMLA is just further evidence of the heroics being performed by so many unsung, but no less important folks during this crisis... Everyone thanks the Nurses, Doctors, food delivery drivers, Truck drivers and so many others, but for example maintenance workers for hospitals are never named (nor orderlies or so many other essential workers for hospitals!) So in addition to my condolences on your loss, allow me to also offer my deepest thanks to you for your continued efforts during an insanely difficult time for you and your family. Cheers mate, keep your head up! I'll be cheering you on which is saying something coming from a born and bred Ohio boy to someone living in Michigan!

As stated in an earlier post I am new to my current job. With that said I am very lucky that I am able to work from home. The major downside is that I am working from home and do not have access to my co-workers except via team chats which makes my learning curve about 200 percent harder.

I work from home and I'm an introvert so in that respect it's not been too much of a change (and quite delightful really). I am also considered an essential employee and I do occasionally have to go out for field work. I don't abuse that, however, since I don't want to take the chance of contracting COVID or spreading it to someone more vulnerable.
My main hobby is cooking, and I used to go to the store twice a week to get ingredients. I've been going more like once every two weeks these days, so my cooking is getting more boring the longer it's been since I went to the store.
I worry about my father who is in a nursing home and other family and friends who are considered "high risk" (and some of whom are not taking this nearly as seriously as they should).

Re: How is COVID-19 affecting you?
Hey all! It's been quite a while since I've been on here. I just finished a seven month term with a program operating with the US Park Service building hiking trails in the mountains of Arizona. About a month ago I visited some family before driving to university and well, everything shut down. So my weeklong trip has turned into two months. It's not the most convenient thing but, I suppose I can play Baldurs Gate consistently for the first time in about six or seven years.

Re: How is COVID-19 affecting you?
Bluntly put...
It (do-me) sucks. Lol
I went back to finish up my degree a few years ago. Decided I wanted to do a real legit study aboard program for a semester and actually try and experience college(instead of just...staying in my room, reading and writing papers...), I picked Australia cause I liked it and the people from the first time. I decided Tasmania and the University here.
But....nope, fun, parties, seeing the parks and nature, driving on the mainland. Nope. I am stuck in my room, online learning(which I hate and have avoided like the plague cause I can't focus) and then the realization I am not so "introverted" as I thought(or maybe it is being 10,000 miles from home) and losing my focus. Lol. Talk about getting rolled. Physically I am fine, but emotionally and financially this is messing me up even more. I took out thousands and thousands of more in student loans for pay for this with the end result of my study aboard experience being "Stay in your room...but in a different country for $5,000-$6,000 more than if you stayed home"
So all in all it is miserable. >.<
Cheers everyone!

Welp.
Two mornings ago I found out my father died. He had bronchitis. He was not tested and the state where he lives does not do postmortem tests. I am not convinced the home where he was staying is doing any tests at all.
My participation on the server is going to be erratic. Call your loved ones, especially if they live in a home.
