LG/NG guild
Hey all you great rp'ers,
Looking to create a new lawful good - neutral good guild. The current LG guilds are extremely restrictive paladin orders. I want a more Rp heavy NG-LG guild. Suggestions are very welcome as I wasn't looking to lead a guild.

Personally, I don't do guilds, but if you did a mercenary company that had a strong structure and for the most parts followed chivalry, you might be able to get that to work. You don't have to be a Paladin to live by a code or even be a knight. Knights are devoted to a lord, not a god.
Alternatively, it can be a "Questing group", as in the manner of the Arthurian questing knights. Set extreme long term goals that the guild strives for. It doesn't necessarily have to revolve around the battle of good and evil as well, it could be questing for things that would help others or bring fortune to others.
The only real obstacle is the Lawful vs. Neutral conflict can be an issue, because Neutral axis'd characters would be willing to forgo structure and procedure to get the job done. As long as your guild understands that this can and probably will happen and won't OOC-ly devolve because of it, it should work.

Good stuff C2K,
If you or anyone else has an cannon order of NG or LG or in betwixt to suggest I'd love that. The holy orders here on paper are very limiting, and they are LG to the extreme.

You might need to do some creative design because the faction I am about to mention is not in the Western Heartlands, but you can look at exa, mples like the Silver Ravens of Sembia.

The Harpers seem to be a fit for this although highly clandestine. There's also The Order of the Gauntlet which allows for other classes beyond Paladins.

The Harpers are CG, because they would do questionable acts for the greater good.

The Order of the Gauntlet is a 15th century DR faction.

Re: LG/NG guild
My character joined the silver rose. After reading it's charter mission statement and history (offsite so maybe not official per rules?) . There is a lot of room for character depth and involved roleplay.
My concerns and admittedly....bias..... towards paladins over the years is heavy black and white roleplay being mindless instruments of the gods without respect or compassion or mercy living to kill evil for feel goods. It goes both ways. I also don't like playing evil mindlessly killing good for no reason other then they are good aligned for feel goods.

Its unfortunate, but the RP on this server always seems to devolve into this, no matter how strong it starts.ajcolt wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 8:31 am My concerns and admittedly....bias..... towards paladins over the years is heavy black and white roleplay being mindless instruments of the gods without respect or compassion or mercy living to kill evil for feel goods.
