A bittersweet goodbye

Unread post by Febriel »

The following is a letter written by Mitheera to Sister Ssinyrr, a son who never had a choice in the world, and To Eilistraee....

"The one I call sister as well as my boy lay dead at my feet in this empty cavern. It is puzzling to me that I feel such pity for my son. I told him as I held his head in my lap that he was never meant to be. But my heart skipped a beat as I implored him to not let himself be defined by his father's demon blood. I told him he could choose his elven side. I do not know if he heard me. All I could do at the time was to cut a crescent moon into his forehead. Mayhaps Eiliestraee will take pity on his blackened soul and separate the elf from the demon. This I can only pray will happen as I trust in her.

My sister lay lifeless now upon the ground. I miss this girl who found her way into trouble. I held her as she crossed over into Eiliestraee's warm divine embrace. She heard the beautiful song and I know she is happy. Sister Ssinyrr and the goddess have forgiven me for my wicked ways. Perhaps I can forgive myself. Perhaps it is not so selfish after all. Ssinyrr was adamant that I should. It took me a long time to get her remains as best looking as possible. I braided her long white hair as neatly as I could and draped it over her shoulder so that it lay on her chest. I cleaned her of any blood and dirt as much as possible. She looked so peaceful, content. I placed my silver sword pendant reverently in her hands folded across her midsection. May Eiliestraee welcome them both into the dance. May Eiliestraee separate the boy who had no choice from the blackened heart of the half fiend. And lastly may I see them both when it is my time. The Dark Maiden granted my prayer as both bodies were burned in an azure moon light flame. As for my sisters important belongings I shall turn them over to Trissae so that they shall be well taken care of. I bang my shield in your honor sister. And by Song and Sword I swear by my life's blood to make you proud and to rebuke the demon who sought to break us wherever and whenever he shows his wicked face" *the ink upon the parchment is dried followed by being placed in an ornate scroll tube*
