Help me build my Barb!

Hello peeps and ghouls, I want to build a Barb! and I would very much like your help. I'm not new to nwn2 but pretty new to BG:TSCC so need some helps please.

So I'm looking at 22 Barb/ 3 Rogue/ 5 FB split on a human.
Thinking whirling rage over vanilla.
Questions I'd like to get answers for please
1. Can I start rogue and then take whirling rage and ice troll rage feat later on Barb lvls 1 and the next feat lvl so 6 (lvl 3 barb/ 3 Rogue)?
2. If not or even if so is there a better 3 lvl tumble class dip than rogue for my build?
3. starting stats are 17/12/17/10/8/8, thinking medium armor like a chainmail or eventually a mithral fullplate, this any good?
4. I don't want any fighter lvls if possible or to drop lower than 22 barb as the aim (even if very far away and may never reach) is epic and thundering rage so I guess my question is will my AC be decent? doesn't have to be godly just decent.
5. Lastly what feats do I want to take? Below is what I've just planned out so far

15 Steadfast (Toughness from FB at lvl 13)
18/Barb lvl 10 Greater res / IPA

23/25/27 Epic DR1+2+3

I can see I'm missing blind fight which is usually a must so what should I drop for that, I'm thinking LoH or Greater res are my most disposable feats here.
My ending stats will be 21/12/21/10/8/8
So what do you think I should do? this good enough or will I just suck XD?

Hey there.

First things first. A few years back the server both buffed the traditional barbarian rage and nerfed (via no shield, though that wouldnt matter too much for an IPA build) whirling frenzy. If you are going con, there is pretty much no reason not to go standard barbarian.

Second, blindfight is a godsend. I dont think the greater resilience feat is worth it. I would swap it out for blindfight.

Third, You have evasion, but evasion only applies if you are wearing light armor. You can either go mithral fullplate and get more AC, or mithral chainmail (which is 6/4 and light armor) for evasion. Getting 14 base dex would be better, but with human and the 21 con that would be pretty difficult, so you might just have to suffer -2AC if you want evasion acting.

Forth, you can take rogue first. You wont be able to take ice troll berserker until you have barbarian levels. I am not sure, but you probably will be able to take ice troll berserker on your first barbarian level.

Fifth, rogue is a good dip, but not the only one. You could also go anointed knight (if good) or warrior of darkness (if evil). Benefits for those classes. You get both tumble and spellcraft. You get blindfight (net neutral because you need iron will). You get high fort/will save (not as needed if you are a standard barbarian with epic rage, that +12con to will save). Its full BaB. Rogue has its own benefits of course, but I assume you know them as you picked that class.

Sixth, barbarians get +2AC at level 20 and take no AC penalty for standard rage. Your AC will be just fine, especially with your DR.

Finally, end with even all stats. Bonuses from items/rage cap at +12, and epic rage will give you +10str/con. That means you only need a +2str/con item to hit the cap. 20str/22con is better than 21/21 because your AB and damage will be the same, but you'll get an extra 30HP and +1fort/will.

Heya, thanks for the reply!. Okay I shall look at AK then I would rather take something else over rogue as I just picked rogue as it's the classic dipping sauce. Okay I shall opt for base rage then and end all even stats. Also I shall take BF over GR

Is it worth going 14 dex and 8 int, sacrificing 1 skill point to get the dex needed to wear a mith chainmail and have evasion in effect while retaining 20 str 22 con?

In addition what are the useful umd rank thresholds and can the temp hps from rage KO the pc?

1) I love skill points. I really like getting to rp having skills beyond spot/tumble/spellcraft. That being said, purely mechanically, you might be better off doing 14dex/8int.

2) You'll want 13 UMD or 32 UMD. Remember that getting at least 5 ranks in spellcraft will give you 2 UMD. With your -1cha, that'll mean you'll want 12 ranks of UMD. 13 will let you equip any magical gear and get wands.

3) you do not die from temp HP loss at the end of your rage. At least that is what the wiki says.

Keep in mind that epic rage requires 21 STR/CON.

Thundering Rage isn't that powerful overall.

Mhm thundering rage does look underwhelming actually. Okay ill just drop that for great str then so I can have at least 21 str for epic rage.

2) You'll want 13 UMD...

This is a must. Zkenic also offers sage advise to account for any CHA offsets.

Keep in mind that epic rage requires 21 STR/CON.

Also… a +25 BAB. You’ll want this as soon as possible so that Rogue dip will push you back at least one level.

Battlerager is an outstanding PrC with a lot of goodies for only five levels. Highly recommend you give this some consideration. I have one that is only 12th level… but a lot of fun.
