Guild timezones

Unread post by Donny »

So, as a non-American I feel like a lot happens during my sleep times.
As a result, I was wondering what guilds operate in my timezone. As such, I also thought it might be usefull to give make something of a list of timezones in which guilds are active!

So, what guilds are active during GMT-ish evenings? And if you want to share, when is your guild active?
If this gets enough response, then perhaps we can create a list of guild activity times :)

The Green Enclave has people all over the world. USA, Australia, Europe. We are usually most active in the "middle hours". Where it's a tad early for the US, but getting late for EU.

Depending on the day, really. Radiant Heart are seen active throughout the day. As for myself, I am in the USA, but am free on Sunday, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the day time (So evenings GMT ish time) most weeks. And then if you play a little late your time, can and am on the other days. We do have GMT and AUS players as well. But, as for guilds, it comes down to what you want to play. Since many guilds (The Radiant Heart included) are looking for certain types of people to join them. So, it might also help to know what it is you are looking to play? Then could help pin down where to look guild-wise.

Rocky Creek Trade Company is an intentionally small guild with RP focus related to mercantile trade, with adventure hooks and intrigue plots on occasion.

We are active throughout the day during the week, unfortunately most of us only overlapping another or two, with members now in Australian, European, and US Time zones. Weekends vary wildly across the board.

As Lord Splenda said, however, it really depends more on what you want to play and how you want to play? I looked over past forum posts and you seem to enjoy forum RP and RP-based characters. If you've any interest in us, reach out IC.

This may be helpful. It has not had an update in coming up on a year, so some of it may be outdated. But, might give you a feel for most of the guilds available surface and UD, as well as who you might contact IC/OOCly if you'd like to get more involved in a guild. The link also has guild RP pages linked in to them for your reading pleasure.

Underdark has House Selmiyeritar. I can't speak on Maernival or Bregan's timezones though, or if any other UD factions are active! We sometimes (usually) have our meetings earlier to accommodate for our players with EU times. Because we have some US-EST people, we can afford that a bit more than someone on the Pacific coast.

That's if you're interested in the Underdark, however. And I think you're on the surface?

House Blackrose runs on MST/EST timezones though we do have a few EU players but the majority of its players are Canadian/US.

We are a Noble Military/trade faction in the North.

Nice! Thank you all for your responses!

My main is a bard, focussed on diplomacy, trade and ... well ... music.

But I'm primarily just focussed on RP. I don't really care if that's UD or surface.

I just find it a bit hard at times to build up RP during 7 - 9 PM GMT. But that could also very well be me.

If you truly keep static, regular hours in a regular place IG on the Server, and essentially "host" an RP moment, others will find you. Perhaps after some time and IG, IC meet-ups, a guild will itself form out of likemindedness?

What helps, beyond just idle chatter chat RP, is to have context or reason behind your PC's "hosting" a moment, and existence. Is your bard collecting/purchasing songs and poems, in these regular moments, if offered by others? Is she trading rumors? Etc. Good reasons to keep other PCs coming and going, bringing in new context and feeding off of what your own PC is bringing, is the feedback loop you're probably looking for...that we are all looking for!!!

That's great advice, thanks! I'm going to give that a try!
