Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A commotion caught the attention of the northern watch stations of the city. Those near the walls and in the farmlands reported hearing terrific crashes of magical energy and localized raging storms.
After the 'event', a crowd descended upon a scene of destruction. Trees had been toppled and some even split in half from the energies unleashed. Some adventurers attempted to investigate, but no public report was given as of yet.
Lieutenant Nails was observed arriving on the scene in full armor and escorting a group back to the city after watching the crowd mill around for a time.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A storm would push in from sea and begin to unleash over the city but the worst of it was felt in the eastern farmlands.
A deluge of rain would fall from the sky that would eventually turn into a hail the size of walnuts and only grew bigger.
Guards would tell everyone to stay indoors to get away from it, sadly many civilian and adventurers alike were injured.
Crops destroyed animals killed...How this would affect the food production and day to day of Baldur's gate is yet to be seen.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A few evenings ago explosions and sounds of fighting could be heard coming from the Darius estate before a Balor burst out of there front doors taking to the
sky's leaving the estate in relative ruins, all save for the famed pillow room.
Rumors have it that that many people were injured in the event that had to do with the supposed shards found from the portals that have been popping
up all over the place.
People would notice the increase of Fist soldiers around the city in response to this and an investigation is said to be underway.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
Rumour in the farmlands is a tiefling, and a woman who appeared to be a paladin, came across an ill man in the Southern Farmlands, and when approached, mentioned something about bad meat before collapsing and dying, his corpse transforming itself into a twitching pile of living flesh which lashed out and attacked those nearby. It was vanquished quickly, and the body was burned.

the local populus has been experiencing due to the demons that have been threating the city.
A large increase of fist presence could be noticed around the city, this extending to the farmland and in specific the Radiant Heart Chapter house.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
In response to this display, posters have gone up in Baldur's Gate for the capture and arrest of one Salim El-Faddir:kitteninablender wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 11:33 am In a very loud and public display a very drunk and seemingly very angry Salim el-Faddir, the Mad Mage of Machinery as the locals have come to call him, was seen arguing with Kellan about the Demons of Orcus.
It was at this point that Salim, BRAZINGLY, screamed at the top of his lungs...not caring whom might listen:
"Hi, Everybody!! My name is Salim El-Faddir!! And I have been building weapons to fight DEMONS!!! And have been TESTING THEM! ON DEMONS!! DOES ANYBODY CARE!?!?"
After the Morninglord of Lathander, Kellan, chided Salim for his activities, warning him that Salim "Was becoming the very thing he sought to destroy"...Salim was then approached by a local tax-collector, who promptly asked him if he had paid his taxes. Likely to change the direction of the conversation.
Already greatly heated, and already angered...his eyes, which have been replaced with Crystal balls, glowing RED with fury...
..Salim proceeded to drop his PANTS. And expose his genitals to the Tax office. He then proceeded a tirade of rude gestures and profanity before DARING the Flaming Fist to arrest an Archmage...and then vanishing in a flash of light and the sound of angry yelling to an unknown destination. Likely to continue his mad schemes elsewhere...
"Please be on the lookout for the mage Salim El-Faddir. He is wanted for disorderly conduct, which includes: public disobedience, exposure of his genitals, disruption of official business, and disruptive spell casting. These charges will result in fines or jail time depending on the severity, as determined by a Captain of the Flaming Fist."

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
The people of the city have become restless, gathering in angry crowds near the Darius estate. The Fist would disperse the crowd only for them to gather elsewhere. Talks of lynch mobs and stringing up those that consort with demons. Much hate and bitterness has developed with recent events and the loom of food shortages does not help. Many blame Balor's outbreaking in the city to the bad weather that has been circulating.

A Life More Ordinary
Today was a very normal day.
Farmhands, who could often be found daydreaming, were surprisingly productive. Children who would be relied on to find trouble were content to do as they were told. Even the local gossips didn't seem interested in anyone else's affairs. While the local bard had been struggling to recall an old song, he shook off the notion by around midday and went back to some simple, uninspired tunes.
By the next morning some few citizens would feel something was missing that had been taken for granted, but were unable to articulate what. The majority of the coast had no such thoughts, carrying on with their perfectly ordinary lives.

The thief looked over the door again suspiciously. The large lettering clearly exclaimed "SECRET DOOR". Confused at first, he found that the door did indeed lead directly to the treasury. Unsure what to chalk it up to, "Coin is coin" he said to himself as he carried on with the job.
Only yesterday the formulas had baffled her. She had spent the better part of the year deciphering the necromantic spell's unusual construction and yet now, suddenly... Filling in the equation on the board with a few common spell sigils, the ancient inscription was completed. Looking around at all the now pointless seeming reference books, she began to consider how to spend the rest of the week.
As the old noble was lead away in chains, no-one present was exactly sure what to make of his casual willingness to talk about all the people he had been sacrificing on his estate. The detail he went into had sucked all the life out of the room, ensuring that everyone stuck to far more boring topics for the remainder of the evening.
By the next morning some few citizens would feel something was missing that had been taken for granted, but were unable to articulate what. The majority of the coast had no such thoughts, carrying on with their perfectly ordinary lives.
Vile things are afoot in the realm.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
A moonless night cast a shroud of almost impenetrable darkness over the Baldur's Gate Harbor, only punctuated by the flare of torchlight or candlelight from the windows of the various slums. The usual sounds of the harbor are muted, with only the rolling tide filling the air in the absence of the usual hustle and bustle. Even the smells have cleared, the tang of the sea salt in the air absent of its usual scents of fish and filth.
There's a reason they call it a witching hour, after all. But it isn't to last, punctuated by the rattle of wheels on the tone cobbles.
Under the cover of darkness, a small cadre of figures travel down the street with a carriage in tow. The back of the carriage is covered, but the men move with almost frightened caution all the same. Looking about, the reach the harbor of one particular ship, where they're met by another figure, cloaked and hooded. The men move to the back of the carriage and start unloading what may be barrels with the utmost delicacy, or at least as much as they're able.
The barrels are rolled upon the ship, and the gangway removed. The men leave as quickly as they came, and the unusual activity gives way once more to the restless tide and the inky darkness of the night sky.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate
The Flaming Fist Garrison is abuzz with activity. Several dozen soldiers are seen marshaling equipment and supplies, the sergeants and junior officers supervising the activities are all well versed combat veterans.
Before the days end a number of lightly armed scouts depart the city by the eastern gate and turn south.

Re: DM Rumors of Baldur's Gate

The Flaming Fist for the last tenday have had a different routine. Each morning they gather around a battle caster and receive a short list of wards. Small conversation can be heard amongst them as they disburse across the city on patrol.
The city of Baldur's gate seems to be in high spirits this morning.
