Skill Synergics, how does it work

5 points of skill 1 gices +2 bonus to skill 2. Does it count only base rank, or count current rank when resting (ability modifier, feats or equipment count or not)?

I just opened a bard, uped to level 6 for test. But did not see it take effect. First I gave base rank 2 to disguies plus cha16 to total 5 rank. It did not increase Bluff. Then I add Disguise, Diplomacy to both 5 base rank, and also 5 rank on Lore: Nature. But they did not increase any rank on Bluff and Survival. Even when I rest or change map or cast Herosim on myself. They shows as if no such a mechanism available. What did I missed?

Hi there. It counts base ranks and that bonus is only applied for first 5 base ranks in the skill. So, say, Spellcraft 5 gives you +2 UMD in total.

I see. It's base rank. But I did not see it increase. Like I said the test cha is only lv6. The base rank can only hit 5 not 10. I did not see a +2

Okay, i tested it.

There are things in parenthesises, like (Bluff, Diplomacy)
In fact, those synergies work one way: When you have 5 bluff (first pair of skills), you get +2 diplomacy, but not vice versa . So, there are no (Anything, bluff) things so you can't raise your bluff from skill synergies.

Are all of the skill couples in the feat discription the same? 5 rank of first skill leads to +2 second skill. But 5 rank of second skill does not lead to +2 first skill? Should the discription be adjusted to aviod such a misunderstanding?

Yeah, they all are the same. As for me, i feel like it's pretty clear, but it's just me.
