Returning player build help

Unread post by TheKai »

Hello all,

It's been a while. Looking to return to the server and requesting some experienced eyes to look over the build below.

I'm combining Druid with Cavestalker and Sacred Fist using Fighter instead of Monk. Calculations are in the summary, however, I did not calc damage as I am unsure how unarmed progresses with 10 Sacred Fist levels and no Monk levels. I think, however, damage may be an issue. Any suggestions?

Also, reading the wiki, can someone confirm if the only thing lost for using light armor is the +3 Sacred Fist AC bonus?

Any way to improve? Intentionally left the skills vacant, covering only the basics.

Cheers!
Kai

If you are not planning to Wildshape, then why Druid? Ranger would be better for dmg because of Favored Enemies. If you do plane on Wildshaping, your Unarmed-ness converts to Creature Weapon in Shape, thus incurring the -8 AB penalty from Sacred Fist.

Hi Steve!

Druid was chosen for the RP, mostly. No, not intending on being a shifting druid. With Druid, damage would be that low, eh?

The build has 1d10 unarmed from SF, and with gear and buffs it’s about 26 avg that I’m ballparking. It’s not terrible but the build doesn’t benefit from Ki Strike from Monk. I guess that it really depends on whether you want the Druid spells or the Ranger spells, and the RP behind the Character.

Cavestalker has limited application in Surface underground Areas, and Dwarves can’t initially spawn in the UD. FWIW.

But generally if you don’t have lots of dmg potential the build needs lots of AC to stay alive for long enough to win melee.

I believe the build has sustain, in both AC and healing. The lack of Ki strike is a concern for me though, adding to the fact that no shape change forms have ki strike either. I believe this build is a no-go, sadly.

Back to the drawing board. Thanks for the help, Steve! Good to see you still here!

Nice to see you getting back into BGTSCC RP. Yeah, roll up a Dwarf! Well, don’t get too sidetracked—the Server can never have too many Dwarves!

It certainly hasn't happened yet. But I can imagine a point where it would be too much! A world covered in beards and ale.

EDIT:
Actually, I can't find anything wrong with that on second thought. Carry on.

If you are Monk/SF wearing a light armor you will recieve penanty to AC equal to your WIS modifier. It's not concern SF's own AC. From the wiki it seems the penanty will not available if you have only SF class. I'm not sure.

But I think Flame Weapon will not apply to golves, nor Storm Avatar. So the dmg will be lacking. Better to trade SF to Hospitaler. You lost SF's AC but have a handful spare feats to improve either AC or AB. Trade Ftr to WD to get EW is also an option.
