Q: How does the Server reset process now work? Players could literally set a timer to approximate the next server reset (6hrs) before the countdown warning would appear. Now... it's not so simple. Can someone explain how the server reset process works? Are there two or three timers? Which server is the Nexus aligned to?
I would appreciate any insights anyone has... as I would like to understand the process so I can better assess my assumption of risk. Before the server split, if I wanted to mule a high-value item between characters I simply waited for a scheduled server reset and then used scry or Discord to ascertain whether a DM event was underway (DM events = an increased risk of server crashes). I just used this logic today 21 minutes after a scheduled reset and it failed miserably resulting in the loss of two high-value items. I do not want to conflate my question about the server with the topic of muling. I assumed all risk, period.
The reason I ask this question is based on my experience this morning, which I have captured here for your consideration.
My assumptions on the server boundaries - as I understand it, Server 1 represents all of the maps south of the FoD. Server 2 represents everything north and the UD. Are these correct?
I was at the Eastern Farmlands and the scheduled server reset warning appeared. I logged back into the game and came into the Nexus. My log reported the server had been up for two minutes. Based on the timing of these events, I then assumed the Nexus was linked to Server 1 or the numbered server that supports the Eastern Farmland's map. After a few minutes, I built a fire, stored equipment in it, and logged. I immediately came back into the game with another character to pick up the equipment and the server froze and I was booted. This was 21 minutes after reset. What happened next is what prompted me to ask this question on the forum. When I logged back into the game, the Nexus timer was reset again (naturally). However, many more new players arrived and made reference to the fact Server 2 has just crashed. Candidly, their reference to server 2 could be synonymous with my server 1 reference and so it is hard to know for certain. But for the sake of inquiry, Q: If one server crashes, does it drag the other server into a reset as well?
Cheers!

Re: How Does the Server Reset Process Work?
While I cannot answer the original question, I feel it is important to note that Server 1 and Server 2 have different nexuses (nexusii?).
This might be the cause for confusion.

Re: How Does the Server Reset Process Work?
There are two servers, each with their own independent reset timers. While they were synced when first launched, due to crashes the two timers have become quite different.
Now, server 1 is having some crashing issues atm. Hiccups due to the really complicated server split scripts, but we're working on getting it fixed. Server 2 is more or less stable, since it has a lower population typically.
I would recommend for any muling and transfers, you log onto server 2 instead of server 1. As Hoihe said, both servers have their own nexus. You are less likely to have to worry about crashes if you use the server 2 nexus instead of the server 1 one.

Brilliant! ...and thank you for both for very helpful responses. How do I purposefully log into server 2 vice server 1? I didn't know that was an option. If this was already explained I apologize and please just point me in the right direction.
Cheers!

Add both to your favorite list. If you need the IP details, just click on the server on the server browse list and select 'Server Details' and it will show you. Should be an option to just add it to favorites from there, too.

The other one is a test server, ignore it.

Thank you!
Also, Server 2 direct connect is 158.69.123.65:5122 if anyone is interested.
