Hey there,
When visiting the Helm and Cloak Inn, the NPC bartender Morris, when spoken to, and pressing the 1st option "How about a drink? Let's see your selection". Brings up a store window while still in conversation mode.
The store window I believe is the same as the Clothes Vendor in the BG East Gate.
During this halfway point in the NPC conversation, there are 3 more options to choose from, pressing 1 again "Great. Show me what is currently available." then takes you to the proper Innkeeper store for the NPC.
