Hi there
I have been playing for a while now on this lovely server and I have moved from server 1 to server 2 mainly because of the areas better suited for higher levels seem to be on server 2.
I have noticed that my client more often crashes when trying to connect to server 2. This also applies when i use a transition to do the server change. Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know what causes it?

Hi there. The problem is that almost every crash/loop/instability response i saw from players is very different.
There surely is some common root of it, but it's very hard to unarrow. I never managed to reproduce that looping/crashing at will, but had them when just playing as my PC totally not focusing on QC.
From my own experience, server 2 was way more stable post-split and having it frozen like it is currently is the first occurance of this problem since the split (S1 has frozen at least 3 times already that i witnessed, maybe more when i didn't).
Our Dev team tries to understand what exactly causes it, but it's not easy process. Split itself is a terra incognita where they invent ways to make it possible. Nothing similar to it in challenge and complexity was ever done before and we don't have past experience. And the game engine is really old.

since the split id say that i Crash to desktop at least 4 out of 5 times when ever i transition.   and now, after getting past the crashes now im stuck in the auction house and none of the portals are working.   
i hardly ever post complaints on public boards, but im not sure what eles to do. its very frustrating.

Sorry for the late reply. I don't know it this will help much either, but I've always had CTDs from NWN2 on my current computer and it has a pretty hefty gaming setup. This is pre-split. One thing that has helped me a great deal is just rebooting my machine before I run the game. No idea why. Some old memory leak? Something that currently doesn't play well with modern graphics cards... it's anyone's guess. The ActivatePortal function that the server transitions use is just not very reliable, I've noticed that it has a propensity to send you to the main menu sometimes (not always, but maybe about 20%ish of the time?), so it wouldn't surprise me if in the same vein some peoples' clients crashed instead of going to the main menu.
I don't think there's anything we'll ever be able to do to actually fix this since it's a hardcoded function.
There's a small possibility that perhaps something in the exit script causes it rather than the function itself, so never say never, but I'm pretty sure the client just doesn't handle the transfer as reliably as it should.

no i do not use the client extender ( honestly i dont know what that is.) and i had no problem what so ever with stablity of game until the splint happeded. (( not try to bad mouth the split but these are some big things i am experiencing mulitple times a day.
