Something tangentially related just occurred to me upon rereading Gixustrat's post:

One could hypothetically create a similar campaign using established characters, with the key sticking point being a continuous multi-session expedition outside the server world. Sort of like that thing I did with Frin, except with multiple preselected PCs, and maybe not at level 30. (Then again, it could make an interesting bonding experience for those, too. Neat way of making acquaintances and all that.)

(I'm not saying Ghost needs to do it, mind you. Just tossing the idea out for any interested DMs... and also announcing that I'd totally be up for that, too. )
