Question on Epic Levels and Feats

Unread post by Random_wanderer »

HI all,
I have a cleric char about to turn lvl 21. I was wondering what are the most important stats for the Epic levels/dungeons.
This char is a cleric/hospitaller/hierophant. I guess what I like is a bit of doing both, casting a few spells and kicking some arse with melee.
Use mostly buffed melee combat with divine favor, divine power, recitation and everything else.
He has 46 AC fully buffed, and 49 with recitation during a tough fight. Has 16 STR (22 buffed) and 19 WIS (22 With item)
What are the best options to go forwards, I want to get the Epic Greater Ruin at LVL 21 to add more flavor to his combat.
After that should I go Great STR all the way? or Shall I get some other Epic Feat? Such as Armor Skin? or any other. I guess you can't have enough AC.
My char has access to Premonition and UMD. Should I still keep increasing his armor? He will have 48 with the best equipment, which I am still gathering.
Would be good to get experienced players' comments. I used to play but had a very very long break.
Thanks

If you solo with this Character, you will need minimum of 53 AC buffed.

Or, you need to output mucho damage-o. Not really a Cleric thing, unless you have Epic Divine Might.

I would recommend strength to increase your damage and your AB. Other than that, I agree, you need at least a 53-55 AC in epic areas or you take a lot of damage and use a lot of consumables. If you are fighting dragons, that is a different fight and your AC will only get you killed.

Epic ruin would not be recommended with such low DCs (low wisdom score), although the half damage with a save is still ok.

Thanks for the comments so far. EDM is impossible to achieve, given up on that for a while now.
How about an option leveling full hierophant levels getting spells power and wisdom all the way. Are there enough good cleric spells to justify such a build? I have empower spell but couldn't fid many options to use, only using empowered blade barrier at times. Cleric spells felt rather week compared to arcane. Thanks

Speaking of BGTSCC and adventuring, direct damage spells (or any spells you use to defeat N enemies for a spellslot) have limited use due to the amount of single enemies and groups of enemies you face through the area.
Thus, i'd not recommend to go "blaster" way if you don't want to dig into spellslot management and related things too deep.

DC clerics can be quite good... most are built around Evocation due to the fact that almost every DC spell for cleric is that school (e.g. Hammer of the Gods, Flame Strike, Blade Barrier, Sunbeam, Implosion). However there are some evil cleric builds (such as my past Sharran priestess) who can do equally well with necromancy and Blast Infidel for double damage (300, 150 on save) Harm, high DC Destruction and Vampiric Feast, and quickened Slay Living.

Some of the new changes to cleric domains even allow you to build for Enchantment (esp. Banite + Tyranny Domain for Dominate Monster & Epic Spell: Damnation etc), Illusion (Leira - they get domains giving Phantasmal Killer & Weird) and Conjuration (elemental domains like Fire for cloud spells + summoning), so there's actually heaps of customisation available for full WIS DC clerics.

If you want to use (Advanced) Divine Spell Power, I'd recommend at least 14 base CHA, even if you do not raise it any higher, 16 is better (+ Eagle's Splendour spell).

I think you should be able to use Empower spell on things like Bulls Strength for +6 STR, but I can't remember if that works or not.
