Personality: While once Yashe would be described as being open, naive, and almost childish, moons in and around the city without her mentor to lean on lead to her hardening herself some, and tempering her expectations with others. While she is still patient, empathetic, and emotional, she has become more guarded with her innermost thoughts and feelings, less willing to share her burdens with others, and ultimately a little more closed off to her companions. Instead, her heart's troubles and aches are given over to her goddess, who through repeated trials and tribulations has seen her faith steeled and enforced with zeal and warmth. Yashe might have been readily defined as naive and accepting when she came to Baldur's Gate, she has since become more inquisitive; following through with investigating accusations and ongoings.

She is strongly given to preferring diplomatic solutions to problems, a bloodless resolution to a conflict greatly preferred to smiting her foes first and letting the gods sort out the rest. Her preferences for discussion, patience, and temperance has to lead to a number of parties attempting to manipulate her in the past, such situations have generally led to her putting down her foot harder in defense of her ideals and principles, however. She will stand by what she believes, even if it's politically crippling or leads to the creation of adversaries instead of allies.

Religious:

Sune: The Lady Firehair represents the heart of Yashe's beliefs through two of her divine tenants; Love and passion. The world would truly be a better place if only more people loved one another. Romantic love falls somewhat to the wayside for platonic love though, her preferences being aligned strongly toward building strong, life-long friendships wherever people will allow her. Tirelessly; she also tries to feel love for her foes, compassion for what may have led them toward dark paths, and to stand against her. Additionally; beauty to her is less a focus; but a manifestation of self-love; taking care of oneself, proper hygiene, body paints, style of clothes, and makeup all weave together to help an individual feel more complete.

Lathander: The Morninglord for Yashe represents optimism and hope, after Sune she offers a brief prayer to Lathander each morning when she wakes. Bolstered by tales of the Knights of Aster as a youth Lathander was likely a greater inspiration for Yashe becoming a Paladin. The Morninglord rests close to Yashe's heart as a brace against her fiendish heritage, as hope for a better future for herself and others like her persecuted and living in the shadows. In desperate situations, she may lean on the Morninglord as much as Sune, for his optimism and hope that she might see a new dawn.

Chauntea: Holding generally less zealous beliefs than many Paladins, Yashe also holds a deep love and appreciation for the natural world. Often traveling, she is easily lured into hiking across woodlands and through trails rather than sticking to main highways between settlements. When in these wild places, she tends to try to consider the way druids of good-natured deities work to maintain balance. For her, the Earthmother is a primary muse and inspiration, growing beyond simply existing in the wilds and adapting to the changing world. Chauntea holds a special place in the tiefling's heart, and since arriving in Baldur's Gate she has even begun taking pause at her shrines and temples.

Selune: A goddess whom Yashe didn't put much thought into for most of her life, when she was introduced to the Moonmaiden she found her lessons on tolerance, standing for the downtrodden and abused, folks of normally evil races seeking a better life all inspiring. While Yashe would choose not to convert to the Moonmaiden's faith, she still holds the goddess and these teachings in high regard.

Finder Wyvernspur: A wanderer and adventurer by occupation, while Yashe feels no specific pull toward Finder, she will stop by any of his shrines to make small offerings when passing by.

Noteworthy Equipment:

The Summer's Breeze: An old longsword of unknown origins, the powerful relic is enchanted with icy magic, and wielding it bolsters confidence and self-assuredness. Drawing the blade summons forth a light gust of cool air about the wielder, like a refreshing breeze on a hot summer's day. The sword was gifted to Yashe by Szarilana Hezret, as thanks for the paladin standing by the fellow tiefling and continuing to believe in her.

Plot Hooks / Miscellanious:
Hidden: show
Blood that Binds

-The Teresel family remains a dark part of Yashe's past, wealthy Waterdhavians who absolutely despised Yashe; because she represented some foul link in one way or another between them and the Abyss. While they disowned and distanced themselves from her, it was under the assumption that she would live in ignominy as a nobody, a tiefling forever condemned to the bottom rungs of society, and easily distanced from a noble bloodline. Should Yashe stay the course on a noble path, and gain renown, it's possible her old blood relatives might look for some other means to dispose of the young Paladin. It is also possible however that they might seek to make amends, or certain members of conscience might seek her out for aid, this part of her backstory is left somewhat ambiguous intentionally.

A Mentor Lost

-Yashe's mentor disappeared in the lands surrounding Baldur's Gate while investigating abyssal cults. The nature of which is entirely a mystery, if a DM likened it as a means to tie into another plot they were running, this might be a perfect means of giving a character a very personal motivation for being involved.

Strength

-While at creation, Yashe was a character intended for molding, transformation and some new begining, her story has seen her come to find strength and stability in her faith and occupation. Being a paladin doesn't bring her any happiness, but she exercises her gifts with restraint and piety. Yashe is a paladin through and through, and while I as a player would be open to that changing, at this point it would take considerable effort to reshape her.

Origins

While Yashe was born in Waterdeep, little else is known about that time in her life, other than she was abandoned by her family as a child, then picked up and raised by a Paladin of Sune; Vilson. Those teen years were full of love, education, training as well as song and dance; a stark contrast to whatever had come before with her blood relatives. She was ever eager, ever ready to prove herself to her mentor and now father figure and as the years rolled on the more it became ever more clear she would be called to the Paladin's life herself.

Vilson would bring her training into focus as she reached the twilight of her youth; arming her with knowledge of weapons, armor, tactics, and strategy. The latter of these she would take to most keenly of all. All the while he reminded her of her moral duties, the responsibilities she was taking on, and what they meant. Of the people who would challenge her views and test her blood to manipulate her to their ends. Though also that perhaps unlike other Paladins she might motivate herself not by a devotion to duty, honor, and such, which were still important, but instead by the love she yearned for and wished for others.

Yashe's life as an adventurer would begin, however, not with a bang or some great tragedy, but with a mystery and a sense of loss instead. Near Daggerford, while the pair were investigating rumors of some perverse cult of demon worshippers Vilson would simply vanish one night; as though summoned elsewhere by magic while they slept. When Yashe awoke, he was simply gone entirely, and when she attempted to investigate she found no clues, no trace of him. Her search eventually had to be forestalled, as she felt a calling to the road, to carry forward and strike out on her own.
