New player problems with underdark

Hello, so I made my first character and since I try to do my homework I decided to go with Tanarukk, which the forum and history feats say is an underdark race and told by a fellow player you need to choose where you go at the nexus and that sets you for either surface or underdark. So I chose underdark but now in Sshamath the npc's tell me to take a hike because I'm a surface character, I can't get any xp or loot anything. Soo... what did I do wrong and how to fix it? Also as a side note the tanarukk doesn't get martial feat that's mentioned in the forum. EDIT: Evidently it works just fine now, not sure if relog or server reset was the fix.

So a while ago I got some major lag or something that made it impossible to loot anything, open the chests or they were empty even when these I haven't even seen before. I restarted the game through the client extension. I got back to where I was and "server response timed out" I wait a bit and log back in through direct connect and I get immediately booted out, tried this few times and now what? Is there a discord or something or is this forum the only place where one can get some quick answers on what's what? Considering that I haven't even gotten a responce to the first problem I had, which eventually solved itself out.

I am sorry to hear you are having problems. Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with the underdark so i cannot help you.

To answer your questions about getting help though, yes: we do have a discord. Two of them in fact, one for socials, one for official stuff.

I recommend going to the DM Screen with your issue, as that is where server staff make their official rounds.

You may of course also join the social discord to talk with other players for help and guidance. Server admins are found in both discords.

Hi there. I will surely test if UD works well for Tanarukk.
As of "booted", it's an inconvenience introduced by server split, the implementation that allowed BGTSCC to overcome the limit on areas and memory allocated to server. Since now the online status of player is checked externally, sometimes servers (as there are two of them) tend to say "player X is on server 2" while they are not. Thus, system prevents them from logging onto other server to avoid being connected to both servers at the same time. Basically, your data should be cleared from server in about 6-10 minutes after you log off, so if that happens again, please wait 10 minutes without connecting to any server and try again.
Also, it's a known issue as our online JEGS module is not very much properly configured yet, so it will create such scenario all the time, waiting 10 minutes before going to live servers helps in most occasions.

If you still are unable to join server due to being booted while you waited for 10 minutes, please post a bug report. It's a known problem, but people actually reporting this will help understand how frequent it is.

After making a regular UD Grey orc, i was able to get XP quite fine.
Whether you got some floating bug that sent you to UD while setting you as surfacer, i can't know.

Please give more details on when you created your PC. DId you claim RcR XP with it?


UPD. I mistakenly though Grey orcs ARE Tanarukk, so it's a mistake of mine.
Though, i rolled a UD tanarukk now, got to Gloura's cellar, killed a bug and got 50 xp immediately.
NPCs in Sshamath are willing to give me quests as well.
