Nexus Campfire Looted
Hello, as subject states tonight around the 20:30 GMT mark I had the campfire I was using to transfer items looted by some unknown individual. There were many valuable items inside but nothing I will miss terribly. Nevertheless, I thought I'd report the act so that people can keep their wits about them when they make similar transfers in the future.

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
The same thing happened to me the other day. I lost two items that can be replaced; but was surprised because I have never lost an item due to campfire looting in the NEXUS.
Yes, I know that all muling is done at your own risk; but warning that someone is pilfering is just the right thing to do for the community.

Its always a good idea to ask someone to help mule. Server crashes in the same way will make items disappear.

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
It happened to me some time ago and I thought it was a thief but given how often it happens, it might be just a game thing - if a campfire is left for too long without the creator PC, maybe the content of it is cleared?

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
Just to be clear - the campfire was only up for maybe five minutes max and it was not the server crashing. I put something in the fire and came right back with another character and two items were missing. Two other items were still there, apparently not enticing enough to take.

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
Sorry to hear about this, could have been a newbie stumbling up and thinking someone had left a donation for them, a scummy opportunist who knew what they were doing or just the server doing a screwy and eating items as its wont to do. Hopefully if it was stolen, someone saw something and might come forward. If not, you should sort out any proof of ownership to the stolen items you have (screenshots of inventory, ideally) and pass it along to staff. They may be able to return your items directly, or roll your character back to just before the date the items 'disappeared'. Not ideal as solutions go but better than just losing them.

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
Tis a really sad day when such a thing happens. The BG community I remember would never do such a thing like stealing someone's campfire
loot or anything of the sort. People would even post lost and found items. Really who ever you are, shame.

While muling is not disallowed here, it is still dangerous. If I am on, let me know and if I am able I dont mind standing watch..
I think I can be trusted.

Here are the Server's Rules - https://www.bgtscc.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36831
Baldur's Gate: the Sword Coast Chronicles (BGTSCC) has become one of the largest NWN2 servers around, with many players sharing the Persistent World as a community. In order to keep things running smoothly, please be aware of the rules that this server is governed by and abide by them.
Note that these rules are not here to limit what staff will act on, but to give you an idea of what will be acted upon. Staff reserves the ability to exercise proper judgment and act as deemed necessary even if the situation being handled isn't explicitly outlined in the rules.
The rules are as follows:
Griefing
Do not intentionally disrupt or harass other players, either with mechanics or other means. This includes, but is not limited to, stealing from campfires/packhorses, exploiting summons to bypass PvP rules, or herding enemies to have them attack players.
The rules disallow stealing from campfires. It's antisocial behavior. Period.
Cheers!

Re: Nexus Campfire Looted
I just dropped three epic Tunics in a fire on Server 2... I immediately logged out and back into the game and the tunics and fire were both gone.
I am not upset, I am just disappointed because I can't fathom a mechanical reason the fire would magically disappear.
