Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Seated eagerly around the campfire to listen to the Hollowmoon Shaman's words of wisdom, Adrian took the time to record them in their entirety. Others stopped by either briefly or entirely, to see what the commotion was all about. For a moment it looked like a preacher of Helm was being a bit too over-zealous, likening the lizardmen of the Hollowmoon tribe to monsters, trolls, and giants. Fortunately Lord Lyonaler was able to resolve the brewing tension amiably.
When it came time to part for the day, Adrian promised the Shaman to return the gift of shared wisdom at a later date. His final parting words to those remaining was that of the promise of a book to come. A book based on the wisdom shared by the Hollowmoon Shaman.
(( Thanks DM Foresight for the event, and for the new book Adrian has to write! ))

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A curious event occurred for onlookers on the Outer City. beginning at the south end of the bridge over the River Chionthar, a covered wagon being escorted by a pack of Lizardfolk approached Derik Ranloss, Adrian Baker, and members of the Radiant Heart. Baffled guards sent word up towards the city that they were not a threat and Lord Lyonaler would vouch and be responsible for their time inside civilization. As the group all entered the city limits, Derik spoke to the Tax Collector to explain that he had asked the Lizardfolk of the Tribe Hallowmoon for aid in the food crisis, and Chief Ssixus had obliged.Enough food for several hundred people were offloaded by near a dozen Lizardfolk. The food was later added to the food supplies in the Radiant Heart still being distributed from the massive supply of food brought in from Asbravn.

Later a campfire was the scene of story-telling by the Tribe's Shaman. Not all were appreciative of the offer of food from the tribe. But, situations were defused and no altercations came of it. That night the tribe was escorted inside the Radiant Heart compound to rest, before the tribe was escorted out of the city grounds and back to their village.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
A large group of undead poured out of the Graveyard. Katli Lovrik, a Silverstar of Selune stood at the entrance and held off a great number of undead before pulling back and calling the guard at the gate to sound an alarm. Once several adventurers arrived, including members of House Divine, Order of the Radiant Heart, En Dharasha Everae, The temple of Ilmater, and several freelance adventurers arrived, they pushed into the Graveyard. There they found a pecular Gnome of dark skin, who stated the undead did things for him. He was arrested by the group, and turned into the Flaming Fist with statements from the group various members of the group.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
Members if Ordo Veratatis where seen taking into custody a necromancer that had murdered a naive adventurer with poison brewed right before his own eyes. The necromancer then tried to flee running out of the Outer City, before being apprehended just along the banks of River.
Several calls given by the pious preacher for the Necromancer to repent and to denounce her wicked god, where ignited and before the Helmites and the Ilmateri most foul undead where summoned. A brief battle with the unclean undead lead to the apprehension of the Necromancer for its capital crimes against the Ducal Laws and the Order of Nature. She was then brought to Captain Norton who given the evidence and testimony of members of the Clergy and the Unrepentant attitude of the Necromancer was sentenced to death.
Ordo Veratatis offered to carry out the sentence to free up precious Flaming Fist time and resources on an unclean Necromancer. She was then taken to the Tradeway where Ordo Veratatis members where ambushed by another Necromancer had ambushed the Order a few weeks back.
A huge Pyre was lit. A beacon and a message to all. Good men will not stand for Necromancy and Unholy Magic’s. The un-repenting witch was then light a blaze by the Paladin of Helm. Her sentence carried out her screams filled the tradeway until the roar of the fire grew and overtook her screams. Ordo Veratatis then walked away as a few gathered to watch Helm’s work.

Two figures, Saer Derik Ranloss and Lord Aaron Lyonaler, were seen entering the Palace and meeting with Quincy the Receptionist. Later the Grand Narlhelm met with both of them. All left the meeting seemingly happy with the outcome of it.

Crier Steve would be approached at his usual place, if he's there, by a tiefling in blue robes bearing the symbols of Candlekeep. She would introduce herself as Scribe Edelgarde and ask for permission to take one of the sketches. If asked why, she would answer the following:DM Foresight wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 2:25 pm A curious event occurred for onlookers on the Outer City. beginning at the south end of the bridge over the River Chionthar, a covered wagon being escorted by a pack of Lizardfolk approached Derik Ranloss, Adrian Baker, and members of the Radiant Heart. Enough food for several hundred people were offloaded by near a dozen Lizardfolk. The food was later added to the food supplies in the Radiant Heart still being distributed from the massive supply of food brought in from Asbravn.
While within the farmland, tensions were high with the local farmers being unsure and nervous of the lizardfolk presence, along with a few adventurers, one whom is rumored to have even spoke up against their arrival, preaching to all that would hear, Whats next? ogres? trolls? some commoners agreed, others had different opinions. Despite the masses, their hushed voices, and loud spoken opinions against or for the lizardfolk presence in the moment, one rumor rung out louder than all the others in days to come. Posted by a local town crier up on many of the message boards around the city, is a ruff sketch of a scene within the farmlands on this said day of arrival.
* It depicts a tanned female accepting salted meat by a short statured lizardfolk. The drawing captures the emotion of the exchange, the women appears happy, gracious even, and the lizardfolk stands meerly three feet high offering the food up above its bowing head willingly, the lizardfolk pose strikes a resemblance to that of a offering you would see to a temple shrine, though it is hard to understand the intention behind the lizardfolks facial expression, its body language suggests friendship. *
Below the sketch are written a few words.
Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future, and renders the present inaccessible, for it isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it. I believe it's our responsibility to show our communities the value of all people, to celebrate difference, and to take a stand for acceptance and inclusion. These lizardfolk come with offers of peace! they come when bellies are empty, to steal? I think not, but with bounties to feed our children in a hard time. If we are to meet such kindness with hatred and intolerance based on a primitive ideology that many bestow, does that not make us the true monster? after all, the scariest monsters are the ones that lurk within our souls, and you cannot shake hands with a clenched fist.

The Silverstar Sailor from the Moonsea delivers a design to the Temple of Gond. She mentions to the Master of Gond, Peter Pike, that she was inspired by her father's fishing vessel and the modifications to it that helped it leave and return to the small town of Elmwood during the long winter months. She hopes that it will help with the Iced river and help trade flow along the Chionthar once again.

Re: Rumors & Events of Baldur's Gate
The air genasi caravan leader for the Rocky Creek Trade Company, Malakai Stormwind would be seen in the Eastern Gate district of Baldur's Gate.
Though already easy enough to spot amongst the crowds given his curious extra-planar nature, some commoners might recognise him as having helped with the coordinated efforts to deliver food into the city during the winter along with the Order of the Radiant Heart and Everwatch Knights.
Malakai could be seen speaking to the head of the Torgeirr Mining Company for an extended period. He appears to be interested in procuring ingots of darksteel metal and also asking if the dwarf knew of any existing mining operations focused on excavating starfall ore.
Of final note is the silver badge Malakai would wear openly. Worn opposite to the brass one on the right lapel of his fraying blue coat, it would show the symbol of a tree bordered on one side by a crescent moon and mark him as a member of the Whitewood Vanguard.

Derik Ranloss can be seen looking at the proclamations about the new trade agreements with Darkhold an just shakes his head.
"You have got to be kidding me..." he mumbles and wanders off to continue his errands.

Taking center stage of the balcony looking outside of the Ducal Court, Grand Duke Entar's Herald unfurls a ledger as a crowd of citizens gather. Surrounding the palace is a show of Flaming Fist Soldiers standing aside the herald and outside the palace at the ready. The older gentlemen clears his throat and speaks in a loud but shrill voice.
"Hereby today and thus forward, our Graces would like to proclaim their agreement with Lord Harkonis and the Zhentarim's generous offer of trade goods. This new trade agreement will provide the citizens of Baldur's Gate much relief and allow trade to yet again prosper. Any and all banditry against the Zhentarim's goods should be considered a slight against your Graces and fellow citizens; as they take food from our tables and clothes off our backs."
"Sad to see this city become nothing more then a Proxy state of the Black Network."
She turns on her heel and heads back to her Halls.

Scouts carefully slip here and there, fresh posters quickly pasted in places both conspicuous and not, these, after all, might be torn down en-force. More would be sure to replace them.
