The Coming Sounds of War in the Woods of Sharpteeth

Sounds of hacking and burning can be heard from the woods of Sharpteeth as the local orc population has begun fortifying their cave. Recent arrivals of new orc bloods from a neighboring tribe have rumored to have begun works to expand their territory. Orcs have been seen north of the woods as well as scattered around some of the surrounding areas. Locals of the Friendly Arm Inn have been asked to use caution while venturing through the conflicted woods.

It is rumored that a priest of Selune has received a dreadful omen, standing in a mist before the freshly built orcish war towers. He claimed that Friendly Arm Inn is to be besieged, and this threat is not to be taken lightly.

He departed to tell Bentley Mirrorshade about his vision.

Two men happened across a grisly scene of a strange, tentacled creature interrogating an orc in the Sharp Teeth. It seemed to have dominated the creature and was attempting to extract information involving the buildup of defenses and numbers. As the orcs attacked an unlikely alliance was formed between the creature and the men, beating back the orc scouts before going their separate ways. The men to the Friendly Arms and the creature...deeper into the wood...

The Friendly Arm picks up trade on the back of adventurers lurking in and around the nearby forests. When not chasing Orcs there has been some interest shown by adventurers in changes within the Cloakwood. The knights slaying shadow Druids may have moved on but something stirs. A letter recovered from a Druid and locked away ay the Arm was promptly stolen. Druids are suspected.

The Calm of the Blood Soaked Forest

As the smoke settles from the fires of the night before. The orc numbers descend as quickly as they has risen. Rumor spreads that a group had fought orcish armies before seeking out their chieftain. Their chieftain stood among the many soldiers, elves, and mercenaries who had dealt with his terror for the many days before. The battle was quick as the chieftain died in a flash of spells, arrows, and weaponry. The woods were quiet that night all except for the sounds of crackling fires and buzzing flies. The rain washes most of the filth from the grass, as the visiting tribe lingers no longer.

A familiar pixie can be seen, in the aftermath of the destruction in the Woods of Sharp Teeth, doing her best to tend to the charred remains of the forest. She furtively clears debris, tends to new plantings and saplings and if any orc ventures too close....makes him dance for hours on end until exhaustion sets in.

*Haunted Houses and little Notes*

*Following the tongues of rumors, a man willed himself curious to verify the things heard in earshot. Accompanied by an Elven woman Antares by name and another man Sandriel, they set off in search of the Haunted House deep within the Cloakwoods. The dusky skinned man prayed the effort would find something at the very least. Helmed Horror's and many Vampires laid in ruined in the trio's wake. A pile of books found, a puzzle to solve....it was solved. The right notes obtained with secret information written by ..the Halftoe*

*After parting ways, the darken skinned man made way to Candlekeep to browse the massive library seeking for other clues since he had time to spare and nothing else to do.*

*One clue after another..closer he felt he was. A pair of words made him raise a brow, familar they were for he seen them before, what is the connection he wondered. The words were "The Searchers Guild".

Travellers visiting the Sharpteeth on the border with the Arms Inn might very well notice two notes left plainly for all to see...

Hidden: show
Image
... while those who venture deeper into the woods might catch a glance of a larger assortment of notes, also strewn about in the open, and with no shortage on elaboration...

It would be fairly obvious that the notes were left recently and, while they might not seem present, the tone of the warnings left might imply that the author is likely not absent from the woods.

(( feel free to try and remove these props that are IN GAME, not via forums, and you might encounter the author, assuming I'm logged on ))

A note appears next to one of those pinned in the woods. It reads:
Go to the Underdark. Your blind hatred and absolute ignorance will be better spent there than inflicting your insane viewpoints on everyone in this forest. At long last, you will stop feeling like wasting your life.
The note is unsigned.

A female elven figure trekking through Sharpteeth to destinations unknown would spy several pinned notes and would take the time to carefully read them. Upon reading the text of the notes a smile would trace her face followed by a chortle as she continued her journey in a far more spritely mode than before.

A forest pixie, curiously absent the last tenday or so since working tirelessly to undo the damage from the orcs explosive debauchery, returns to the wood and seems surprised to see these parchments scattered about. Glancing about, curiosity plain on her face, she surveys her surroundings. With a wink and a nod the pixie vanishes in mid-air but the faint tinkling of bells and the flapping of wings can be heard as she scours the wood for a potential author.

*A neatly written note is left under the one in plain sight*
When those who believe nobody is beyond redemption and those who seek it will fall in a pool of blood at your feet and the pile of bodies you built will be bigger than the one you were trying to prevent, will you lay down your weapon, sure that the world is a better place?
Should you choose to answer this question with dialogue and not with the tip of a sword, you will always be welcome whoever you are.

A day later, and only one response appears pinned to a tree above the last by a single arrow, hastily written it seems, and on the back of a worn looking scroll...
