Having met the wonderful man ever, Declan Nash,
River offered him a position at the library, stocking shelves,
moving furnishings, helping write out catalog cards and an
assortment of other odds and ends jobs she would need
help with once the library's purchase was official. Declan,
having happily accepted the offer, became the only employee
of the Bibliotheca other than the librarian herself, River Steel.
The small - magically placed light orb hovered in the humid night air of the Gate, casting its
soft amber glow over the entranceway of the simple structure before which it had been cast.
Two lone figures stood before the structure. Easy smiles passed between them as their attention
shifted between the home and each other..
Days passed since the request for deed had been submitted. Now signed, all was nearly official,
and excitement had begun to mount as the Grand Opening drew ever closer.
Already, River had begun putting her one and only employee, Declan, to work..
Carrying books back and forth between the library and the Bibliotheca's storage, moving furnishings
from the docks to the storage, and tending to a wide variety of other tasks, poor Declan was kept
rather busy..
He opting to spend his down time in the company of the head librarian, he was rewarded for his
kindness and hard work with back massages and long conversations...
First thing in the morning, a voluminous parcel is delivered to the newly purchased building. Unsurprisingly, the pack contains a total of eleven freshly copied tomes, all bearing the seal of Candlekeep on their cover, marking their origin. A small note is addressed to the attention of River Steel and is signed by Scribe Edelgarde. The below history tomes can be found in the delivered crate:
Having received further information from CandleKeep, she has now transcribed all pages verbatim,
and added the updated information to the file already on display at the library.
The following is a detailed report/account, direct from the Scribe of CandleKeep, of what is known of
our current situation regarding Magic, The Gods, And More.. It is on Public Display at the Library and
copies do exist, should anyone see fit to damage those available to the public.

A woman clad in dark leathers showed up at the library, offering book donations. By her posture and attitude, one could conclude she's quite new to adventuring business.
She introduced herself as Clover Stone, and offered a rare book named "Bright Gems". She seemed particularly interested in any other works by same author, as she've never heard of that person before.
She said she could be found at Blade and Stars inn when she's not out adventuring, and promised to bring more books to Bibliotheca later.
A mitralclad Elf, Yuri Lichelina, has taken note of the book titled "Bright Gems" as one he has been searching for. His left behind note makes mention of either checking the title out of the Bibliotheca or purchasing it at earliest convenience.
At some point during the day, an unfamiliar cat wanders into the Outer City. Its small size makes it difficult to tell when or whence it first arrived, and it initially shows no interest in any particular location. After wandering around for a while, it eventually comes across the Bibliotheca, and starts scratching and meowing at the door until it's let inside.
Subsequently, the melancholic feline is often seen idling in or immediately outside the humble library.

He stood beside the card catalog, handsome and devout in his oaths
to defend the defenseless. The sight of him brought a smile to her lips
as she entered the Bibliotheca. She had only been gone long enough to
purchase a few necessities from the marketplace, but it was long enough..
Said smile only grew as her eyes befell her newfound friend, curled up on the
library's fur, wrapped in her favored throw blanket.. The feline had
returned while she was out and managed to win over Declan, as already he
had won over his future wife.. So much so, in fact, that upon her return, Declan
himself took leave for the market for no other reason than to fetch the furbaby
a fish, so that a proper meal could be offered to the little purbox..
Not long after, duty called and Declan had to take his leave..leaving the
two to venture upstairs. After cooking the fish and seeing the cat properly
fed, the two retired to the fur by the fireplace to speak, and meow, accordingly..
It was then that River learned much of her newest friend.. and it was
those very revelations that set the small librarian on a new path.. one
of research and discovery.. as she sought to solve what may well have
been the greatest puzzle of their lifetimes.. and then some....
