Another Tenday

Image

The sun was setting and the bartender went to the stable man to get his pack house then pay a visit to see the auctioneer. During business exchange and soon prepping to relieve Capt'n Pike, he heard some scuffles and looked over his shoulder to see two men throwing fists at each other. What ever the fight was about, it clearly showed a pirate was rather drunk, the other man in heavy armor was clearing going easy on the pirate. Misunderstanding perhaps? Argument over a woman? Or someone just didn't like the way the other looked at them? Who knows for this was Roaringshore. Such a thing happens on the normal.

Image

Yes another tenday with an amusing start. However after heading to the tavern, it wasn't long a patron arrived. A familiar face, a seasoned knight, a father with a break from fatherly duties. Talks of life while marinating of mead brought out knowledge of long past, and historical lore. Past and present events where the top of the discussions that is..until more patrons arrived.

Image

And the next best thing that could be added to a filled bar , is a talented minstrel to pay the tales in songs and play shanties to get the boots stomping and the carouse roaring!

Image

And when Rose plays, she plays!

Image

And when she plays, patrons dance!. Entertainment is always a good thing, but it has to be balanced. Just like anything else in life. Too little is no good, too much is also not good.

Image

Aye just another typical weekend in the Goblet. The talks of doings, deals being made, and stories to share. Just as it should be.

Another Tenday Part II

Image
"Yer drinkin your drink? And no taking the goblet with you either. "

"I, um... drank all of it."

"The hin's got some fortitude!"

"Maybe the little fella need a Luskan Black"

"Think he can handle it?"

"You got this!"

"How do you drink this, bottoms up?"

"Respectfully or it might put yer on yer little cheeks"

"eh.... maybe take et easy yer first time huh Oscar?"

"Now yer feelin good ain it?"

"I... need to lay down..."
Image
One should always be drunk. That's all that matters...But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk. A man's true character comes out when he's drunk. The bartender knew he was a slightly forceful on the little halfling, but the truth was, he had always admire the little folks. Their mischievous ways, their culture. After all he use to call one mother for many years. But she was nothing like the one passing out before him. But nevertheless, a hidden smile might have been seen while the bartender looked upon the now drunken halfling to drank beyond his own limits.

“If getting drunk was how people forgot they were mortal, then hangovers were how they remembered.”

What happen to the halfling after he stumbled out of the Broken Goblet was unknown.

Stories, Tale’s, and More…

When a pirate or a sailor of any sorts, embarks off their ship and set their sea legs upon the docks. There's normally one thing that comes to mind. Reach the nearest tavern and get a good drink that will put them at ease.

Image

“The First Mate was a damn good ship. Good crew too. Then thin's began t' fall part for Jordan Reynolds. It began right outside this bar in fact....”
“Man did wha' a man ought'n't do, y' know? Got grabby. The lass, didn' really know 'er, she pulled a knife, gave 'im one right in the chest. Tha' was it. Man fell among 'is mates b'fore the Enforcers rushed in, broke everythin' up.”

"Women, they be poison to men sometimes. Other times a remedy , but sometimes, bloody dangerous"

Image

Why does it never seems to surprise me, when fallouts are between men , over a woman. Bonds that were thought the strongest, break like a old twig. Friendships, relationships, guilds, crews and even Kingdoms. The day started with a gruff Captain who came in looking for a drink. Not always does the Captain engage in conversations with people out of his own ship crew. But perhaps today he was in better spirits. Talks of stories long pass, and outcomes that shaped the future.

Image

It wasn’t long before other patrons started to arrive. All having something in common. The need for a drink. Drinks requests, drinks given all in a goblet. The goblet made of blown glass with elegant designs for a stems to hold the delicate glass firmly. The most prize thing within the tavern other than its regular patrons. And what the bartender likes most of all along with all that? Word from the roads..

Image

“Devils in the south. Manshoon's possible return in the north, with the two likely being connected.”

“Manshoon?”

“Traitor to the Zhentarim. Though that may be in the past.”

“Was jus' hearin' 'f a ship folk're lookin' for. Jus'' up an' disappeared, as ships are on occasion”

“Capt’n aint think any around her be interested with a ship full of food, stuff goes to waste fast.”

“food ain't what mos' aroun' these parts' consider...a good haul.”

The bartender enjoyed days like these. The ending of the weekend, the beginning of a new week, and word comes in from the roads. Listening to patrons ideals beliefs are always interesting to him sometimes. What he enjoys the most is when familiar faces long ago seen return to pay a visit once again. He and patrons share no pact, nor follow a code created in creed. Nay, he the bartender, they the patrons. He pours the drinks and they pay to drink the drinks.

Image

"Seems a smart man might be able t' sway public opinion with the right...the right...hmm. Wha' is the correct word. Action. That'll do."

"Influence always sways Capt'an. "

"Influence, yes. Good. Tha's why you serve drinks. Good brain power."

"On what grounds? The ducal decree banned the Black Abbey, which doesn't exist anymore. They didn't ban you personally. So what difference does it make if you left the organization, or it disbanded."

"Frankly the less I concern myself with the Gate, the happier. Who's left there for us? None of your closer friends live there, and I didn't make much relationships over there myself."

As the day turned into night, more patrons arrived. Each time the front door opened, some of the stenchful smoky air lefts the tavern only to be filled with a fresh breeze of oceans winds. Candle lights flickered, shadows danced, and more goblets became filled to thirsty lips in search of that delectable throat soother.

Image

"Hey Lazytender"

"Look who talkin yer bloody she devil, finally decided to come around eh? Hey Karai. OH looky here looky here, if it ain't Shana"

"Aye aye, Just back from a job."

*The bartender went around passing out drinks to the recent arrived patrons*

"I don't drink well laying down."

"No one drinks well layin down Miremaid... its a skill ye develop"

"What's the best way to go about it?"

"Tilt yer head back like yer waiting for a loaf of bread of course" *He barked a laugh*

*Gives Sel a grin and raises the glass* "Always a charmer"

"Sel...im placin a challenge here...gimme yer strongest...Its my intent to get...stupid ...well more so'n normal"

From real stories , to frustrated reality, to cheeky tongues and sarcasm, the bartender continued serving drinks. Goblets being filled and goblets being spilled. And patrons were becoming drunk. From observing eyes to shady dark talks below a whisper, the Broken Goblet was simply being the Broken Goblet.

Image

"Welcome to the Goblet what's yer poison?"

"You sell poison here?..."

"I mean what yer like for a drink"

"I have only....entered one other tavern on the coast so far....what do you serve that makes.....hmm....this place special?..."

"Eh? Mostly the same shite the other places"

Grinning expressions hide behind brown eye's. Indeed influence does take a great deal of brain power. The man was correct and this bartender has surely grasped more influence then most thrones. And the proof of that is soon to present itself very soon. But what's in store for the Shore' after it happens? Will the bartender remain or will he move on to try other challenges. Its been a thought in the mind of the barkeeper. After all, why stop in Roaringshore, he's given so much and more, and yet, he's still hasn't really gotten anything out of it. Some patrons of this day in the Broken Goblet will tell you, the bartender once said, ..

"Morale and motivation is a key thing , without it, its like an impotent man trying to make babies, it just wont happen."

“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Casual

Image

Some nights the carousing is mild, the songs are set to bring down the moods and let patrons relax and drink their worries away. When the tavern is slow enough that Captain Pike and Sally can engage in a playful conversation, the bartender indeed knows the night is a casual one.

Image

The night start's off with one traveling adventurer passing through the harsh lawless land of Roaringshore. For what ever their reasons for passing through, who can ever help stopping by a tavern along the way for a drink. Some simply need a rest, others are interested in rumors, and they all order a goblet.

Image

Often enough the conversation starts out with topics of a drink, which then leads to asking questions of whom , where and from or even going. However in recent days, talks of rumors and the word of the roads have been nearly naught. Rumors has gone more silent than that of the current Gods. Some believe the quiet before the storm is upon us, others think things are the way as it should be. Has the world given up? Did they all lose hope in their Gods?

Image

The bartender of the Broken Goblet would have told patrons that night...

"Yer be sure'n to know, sumthin' is comin, and it ain't gonna be nice."

“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Hard work , works...

"A boss wants to pay for results,
and employee wants recognition for their efforts,
if a boss recognizes effort,
they will get even better results.
Excuses only destroy success every time."

Image
13 Eleint 1358 DR
The early morning was near, the bartender was in the middle of setting his bottles with their proper labels , that was until he heard the front door open, and the rush of sea breeze air in along with a very familiar and respected face ..The Boss.

Image

Miss Jackie entered with a confident stride. Her appearance was that of an elderly woman, most would mistaken for a common old lady who would hand out weekend honey cakes. But the bartender well experienced in dealing with people who are more than what they appear to be, knew Miss Jackie was far more then a mere old lady. He remembered their first encounter clearly, she spoke with authority with the lack of hint of fear. He remembered her words as if they were spoken just yesterday..

"Shuush boy. I'm talking. Lets make things clear, you ain't the boss, Pike's not the boss, I'm the Boss..and if anyone is getting extorted I wanna know about it. Got it?"

When your boss who has the appearance of an elderly woman, and owns a tavern such as the Broken Goblet, and she asks for a goblet of milk and you as her bartender don't have such the beverage..how do you respond ? Would you lie? Would come up with some poor pitiful excuse thinking a mere old woman wouldn't know the better? The bartender of the Broken Goblet would tell you....

"Don't be an idiot and simply answer truthfully."

The elder lady , with many wrinkles upon her face that could very well represent the war paint of a tribal warrior set a long clothed wrapped item on the bar top. He looked at the long wrapped items in wonder. Curiously but then suspected she was about to give him some sort of task. After a grin from her small wrinkled lips she spoke out something that was more surprising.

Image

"This is for you, a token of appreciation for bringing in so much success to the Broken Goblet."

After unwrapping the item on the bar, his eyes set upon something he wasn't sure if it was a blessing or a curse. Over fifteen years, he has made life upon the Sword Coast, thirteen of it in Baldur's. Never never has he seen such a thing.

"Note tho, you might want to be wary of its former owners."

He nodded in understanding. He been in this situation before. And from the looks of the item before him, he knew very well such a thing carries a dangerous history, and such dangers may even still follow. The bartender quickly wrapped the item away and placed it behind the bar to avoid curious eyes. He looks at his boss and shows a great appreciation for such the gift. But also shows the full understanding of accepting such a gift. After a parting farewell, the bartender's expression was one of great appreciation indeed mixed with a bit of worried, for he now had something he needed to do. ...Get a supply of milk...

Thank you very much BGTSCC!

"Beware the Daughter of the Sea"

"Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea,
Beware, I heard him cry,
His words carried upon the ocean breeze...
As he sank beneath the tide."

"Those blood-soaked shores of Aglarond,
where sailors fought and died...
The Admiral fell to the Pirate Isles
because she left his side.."
Image
The orange flamed haired Rose let fly her fingers upon the lute, and sang a song to settle the moods of the pirates, thieves, and smugglers for patrons. Some patrons were in the tavern of their own mysterious design as well. Talks of ships of many designs and the talk of Gods and their beginning soon followed. The bartender hardly able to focus to the conversation due to the visit of Miss Jackie earlier. His mind was plotting. Things he had to do, promises he had to keep.

Image

"Beware the Daughter of the Sea,
I heard, I heard across the moonlit sea,
the old voice warning me...
Beware, beware the Daughter of the Sea,
Beware...Beware...Of me..."

The sound of the song was still heard, it had a mystical effect somewhat. He glanced down at the long clothed wrapped item behind the bar, his brown eyes stared at it with a deep wonder. The wonder of what will come looking for such the thing...
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

((FAQ Of the Broken Goblet Tavern))

1: What are the Broken Goblets tavern rules?
No Fighting in the drinking area((Conflicts are taken to the pit or outside)), No touching the barmaids, No breaking the furniture specially the glass.

2: What sort of patrons are allowed in the Broken Goblet?
Any and All are welcome. Although a paladin would be uncomfortable. Its a tavern located in a Pirate village after all, many patrons are pirates, thieves, smugglers and other folks who prefer such a lawless place.

3: Is everybody an asshat and always have bad attitude?
The theme of the place warrants having a bunch of posers. Flexing, grunts, snorts and smirks and knuckle popping, raw jokes and carousing. Bad attitude is expected so is emotes and some cursing. However coming in to act a badass has its limits. Your PC will get checked if such rp is going beyond everyone's else's enjoyment of the gameplay. Simply put, annoying is annoying don't let the pixels or the apron fool you. If I rp a signal for the tavern guards to throw you out, remove yourself from the tavern or be reported for Godmodding if you refuse to do so.

**Server Rules- No Godmodding NPCs!
"God Modding" is when someone’s Character (PC) has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. And example is when a PC simply cannot be harmed by any means, or ignores NPCs that would otherwise take action against the Character if a DM was overseeing the roleplay situation. In addition, players are not to control or speak for or direct actions of other NPCs, especially such NPCs that do not exist in this NWN2 game. Minor instances of NPC interactions may be used, such as and for example: "The merchant said they would spread the rumor I was seeking a special item," or "the barmaid takes my order and brings me my drink."

Violating this rule will lead to IC and/or OOC consequences at DMs' discretion. Hostile acts against NPCs will be treated in the same manner as PVP against PCs in front of NPCs - namely, permastrikes may well be handed out.

4: Who is the owner of the Broken Goblet?
"Miss Jackie" whos played by DM's. Her lore and back history is unknown IC. Reference to Wiki Lore indicates The Broken Goblet owners are rumored not to be humans. Don't let the old lady appearance fool you, your more than likely to get crushed utterly.

5: Do I have to pay ingame coins for drinks?
No simply rp it unless you wish too. Tips for the bartender is nice *hint hint* I don't often rp passing a drink unless I am out of my custom made stock, I like to make custom drinks with the DMFI tool by adding a mini game to it and pass them IC so the pc at least has the animation of drinking something. You do not have to play the mini game if you do not wish too. "Skill Rolls" You may use them as a guideline for RP, but only a DM can enforce skill rolls and the results. And far as drinks go, dont come in asking for something fancy that you normally do in your Real Life night club. That really puts me off. Its a seedy tavern in the forgotten realms in a pirate village. I got Ale, Wine, Whiskey, Rum, Drow drink and elf drink, soon hin drinks. Don't ask for scotch on the rocks or some fruity cocktail.

6: Does the Broken Goblet serve food?
No , no and NO!. WE DO NOT Serve food. Patrons are allowed to bring their own. If you see food placeables or items in the tavern its to be rp'd another patron left it there.

7: Can my Good Guy PC visit the Goblet to seek rumors or information?
Yes you can given the bartender has recent rumors or the latest of information. I document ic rumors that are passed to me ic for reference material. I do not use the forum Rumors, because I wish for some adventure to come in and tell me such rumors or ask what's the latest of rumors. If Ic I do not know of it, I will rp that I do not know of it. Some Dms will give me their rumors however to pass around.

8: Can I use the Broken Goblets Public postings for IC information?
Only the part followed by "Patrons of the Broken Goblet would say..etc etc"
The thread is for Dm's to see the activity and use some of the content to help their own events or see if their events are being lead somewhere, and for entertainment read for the entire community.

9: Is the Broken Goblet a faction?
No it is absolutely not. ITs a tavern just like the Elfsong, the Blushing mermaid, the FAI etc etc. Just like how there's Lore Factions and non Lore factions, there is establishments and Lore establishments. The Broken Goblet belongs to the server it is a Lore Establishment. MY PC is simply the hired bartender. As an PC employee, I will help protect the Goblet by any means necessary. I do have a PC hired Bouncer as well. We simply work there. We do not run it. We play by the lore and IC rules and or DM rulings.

10. I'm a surface elf, what if I see a drow there in the Broken Goblet?
Scroll to the start of this post and reread number one. Once you guys step outside the tavern, you all are on your own. You guys can kill each other for all I care, your dead bodies will simply be given to that blind scary guy next to the bloody wagon filled with dead bodies.

11. Can I set up a merchant stall in Roaringshore?
You have to ask the High Captains. The Broken Goblet is simply a drinking tavern. We do not meddle in the affairs of the High Captains, nor do they meddle in ours.

12. Is the Broken Goblet and the High Captains enemies?
Its a pirate village, we dont have to like each other. They can push their weight, and we can push right back but why ? Our main customers is them and their crews. We provide their drinks, they provide the coins. Rp wise and as per DM instructions, we dont meddle in each other affairs. And as a bartender, its rp smart to protect customers, business is business. Same with pissing off bartenders its not good for health, dont want to drink poison now right? lol

13. Can I afk in the Broken Goblet?
Real life is real life. If you need to afk its fine, however the Broken Goblet does have a header/ bathroom. To keep things immersed please rp and go there to AFK. If not enough time for that, for me at the least setup the pc tools emote that your drunk or passing out in a chair.

((Thats all for now, I missing out on RP!))
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

A Goblet Night..

"Now we are ready to head for the Horn...
Way, hay, roll an' go!
Our boot an' our clothes boys are all in the pawn...
o be rollicking randy dandy-O!
Heave a pawl, o heave away...
Way, hay, roll an' go!
The anchor's on board an' the cable's all stored...
To be rollicking randy dandy-O!"

The bartender of the Broken Goblet was near ready to call his shift in for the day and head for his room in the Swordarms Inn. But frequent patrons and a well known minstrel arrived to share talks and to simply lounge about.

Image

But it wasn't too long before the bardess Rose Wintertal unstrapped her lute , and let fly the magic of songs. She started with couple before the bartender had asked for his own favorite song, which later lead to playing one of the shanty's popular to the sailors and pirates alike. As the sing-along grew louder, more drunken mouths joined in on the song, the nights air of Roaringshore carried the song down to the docks. Pirate Captains and crewmates working with whatever they were working on, would be able to hear the song from up high above the village.
Some might have even sang along while they tackled whatever tasks at hand.

Image

"Heave a pawl, o heave away...
Way, hay, roll an' go!
The anchor's on board an' the cable's all stored...
To be rollicking randy dandy-O!"

Patrons who didn't sing, would had whistled if not stomped their boots to the beat of the song. After the song was over word within the Broken Goblet would spread about an upcoming event hosted by residence of the Shore'.

*The patrons of that night, would tell you about the flyers they seen posted around the Shore'.*

Lute's, Flute's and Drum's

"Hello miss Bard!"

"Hey beauty! Nice seeing you here."

"I'm good! I thought it was about time I see what this place is all about."

"And I'm glad you came by! As you can see, it's as seedy as it can be!"

Image

If there were no such creatures as minstrel-maidens, it would be necessary to invent them. A king is a king, but a bard is the heart and soul of the people, they are their life in song, and the lamp which guides their steps along the paths of destiny. A bard is the essential spirit of the world, in which they are the linking ring, the golden cord which unites the manifold ages of the world, binding all that is past with all that is yet to come.

Image

A society that has no respect, no regard for its bards, its historians, its storytellers, is a society in steep decline, a society that has lost its very soul and may never find its way. The bartender of the Broken Goblet would tell his patrons..

"Best yer tip a coin to yer minstrel, less your life of drinkin be dull and flat like stale ale."

Indeed, for the bards and minstrels travel between taverns, cities, and different parts of the world to spread out tales and deeds from hero's, to villain's and even the scoundrels or vagabonds an of course pirates and politics. No matter the world, it can not forget its minstrels. For nothing can equal to that of a bard's tale.

Image

"What's this new song you're working on?"

"It's actually a song for a hin, commissioned by the bartender. A hin looking from east to west, from north to south, about a famous sling of his own family."

"I guess it had to be a sling! Any pick pocketing in the story? "

"Apparently it's called "Silva", this sling. Everyone searched for it, but no luck so far! And this dedication is worthy of praise for the dedication."

"I like the melody. Well done!"

“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

Roses to Gems

"Rose, play em that song, the first time I seen yer practicing in the Blades and Stars"

"You read my mind, now? You're a mindflayer?"

Image

"Hundred men they were, as they set out to fight for they country's banner in distant, foreign lands...
...he bid her farewell, a love still young and green, she thought she'd soon be in his arms again...
He told her, Await my safe return. Trust in this last promise and stand firm...
...once moonlight shines red onto the seas we shall return in victory...
They marched off, blue banners in the sky and teardrops, were running from her eyes...
Yet she thought, If only I believe, time will bring him safely back to me..
When the red moon casts its light, his ghost travels through the night...
...through the forests on wind's wings, until he reaches the old hill....
...there she kneels before his grave, where their love had once been born...
...and he caresses her face, yet she feels not his embrace. Dark and red glows the winter sky....
...two souls divided by the threads of time..."

Image

It was one of many nights after spending hours in various tavern and drinking to chase the boredom of life away. The wonderer had finally come to his limits, heading to the Blades and Stars Inn to sleep his drunkenness' away. He entered the Inn feeling the warmth from the nearby fireplace. He didn't glance around, for he was a regular customer and often slept in that inn. He reached into his coin purse and paid the Inn keeper while taking his key to his assigned room. He gave a nodding thanks to the Innkeeper and started to head for the door that lead upstairs. That was until he heard a song that made the very hairs on his neck rise. He stopped and quickly spun on the heel of his boots to see where or whom was responsible for such the song, such the voice...his brown eyes soon sees a little woman in a traveling attire of white and blue, and hair the color of flames. She was working on completing the song. The wanderer cared not if he was gawking or starring, for in his eyes and the way the gooseflesh coursed all over his body, he knew right then an there, he could not any one have her. He seen opportunity, he saw talent. And he was going to make it belong to him, one way or another.

--------------------------------------------------------
"Well well, what do we have here?"

"Oh sorry apologies, I was just.."

"No no , please continue that song."

"Oh its not finish nearly done!"

"Go on finish it, I got plenty of time...."

--------------------------------------------------------

Image

"Days turned into weeks, moon for moon passed by, yet no word from the battlefields arrived....
Months turned into years, peace now ruled the lands, empty graves were dug under the sky...
But never did she doubt his last oath, each night she stepped out into the cold...
...she walked through the forest, climbed the hill, where she had once sworn her love to him.
And always, when summer bid goodbye...
And moonlight blood-red fell from the sky...
...his ghost raised from dust-forgotten bones...
...searching for what he had lost too soon!

The bardess sung the song with familiar ease, and patrons became quiet lost on the lyrics. Some drunkards may have gotten emotional, others appreciated such the performance. Even exiled actors of performing arts gave praise to the flamed hair minstrel named after a flower.

Image

Impressed and intrigue the magic of a good song touched the souls of the patrons.

Fields of Dead

Undead- were once-living creatures that had been animated by spiritual or supernatural forces. Some deities employed undead as divine servants. Undead were extremely resilient to a number of effects and substances that were extremely harmful to the living. They were immune to all mind-affecting effects, poison ,sleep effects, paralysis, stunning, disease, and death effects. In addition, it was not possible to drain their life force in any manner.

“ Once an area is infested with undead,
it becomes a gathering place for the foul things.”
— Khelben Arunsun

Location - The Fields of the Dead - were the rolling hills east of Baldur's Gate between the Winding Water and the River Chionthar on the Sword Coast.

History-
Around the mid–9th century DR, before the founding of Amn, this land was a favored battleground for control of the lands north of Calimshan. Kings Strohm IV and Samyte of Tethyr were buried here. In 1264 DR, thieves stole the Shield of Silvam and the Royal Masque Blades from the tombs. Bones still littered the field and cairns of the dead were everywhere.

Image
"What's that? What happen at the Fields of the Dead?"

"You'll have to ask Karai, by the time I got there, things were under control."

"I heard this area mention recently down at William's Well."

"The Fist where seeking assistance from local adventurer's. "

"I hate things that don't bleed."
He remembers a decade ago when he would have to travel through the lands known as the Fields of dead, the ground was more barren. Grass had yet to grow. Bones, scattered an littered everywhere. And you just didn't know when some of those bones would rise up an animated corps to attack you. Foul spirits and magic plagued those lands. He would never travel through it before unless accompanied by a cleric. They had the divine means to repel such disgusting things with little effort. It was 1348 DR when he remembered traveling through the Fields of Dead with a priestess known as Abby Winters. *He smirks to himself* She had him camp with her in the Fields of Dead during they travel through seeking the Troll Claws. He had spent the entire night uneased and constantly looking out while she went about washing her clothes and pitching tents and a fire. The first night went uneventful. The second night however...was horrid.

Fang's of Threnaxus

Threnaxus was once a mighty black dragon, a scourge of the High Moors until one day an archmage of great power offered him a way to even greater might and immortality, vowing to serve the black dragon, for Threnaxus would be the ruler of all of Faerun.

Image

Persuaded by this, Threnaxus was transformed into a vampiric dragon, and in his undead became an even greater terror across the Western Hearthlands and the North.

Image

However, the archmage who had aided him to undeath soon stopped serving , finding his ruler insufficient and underserving of his servant ship. And so the archmage and all other of the dragon's servants left Threnaxus behind.

Image

Even so, the vampiric black dragon continued to cause suffering and chaos in his claimed territory, until one day he had disrupted too many servants of the Shadow King Larloch out on a mission, and the old Netherese lich decided that Threnaxus reign was over. And thus ended the reign of Threnaxus, for alive or undead, few can escape the fate decided for them by Larloch.

Image

Image

It was said, Larloch kept the body of the vampiric dragon to experiment upon. Dragons are magical, and many parts of them can be used to craft weapons and armor, or used as spell components. Tales say some of Larloch's servants carved exquisite swords out of the fangs of Threnaxus. Swords Larloch would occasionally reward to mortal adventurers who manage to fulfill one of this quests.

Some swords just have a hunger of their own.

More in the Shore'

Another day within the Shore', with tarot readings, gambling's and more! What was this? A woman wishing to read the fortune cards of the Broken Goblets bartender?! What did the cards say? Only the patrons that were there would know! For they were the only ones to show!
Although some patrons of the Goblet would say, that it was foretold the bartender would one day have a child with Red of hair! It would be shares, laughter and spillage of ale soon followed such a fortune telling.

"Oh that sorta tied...eh....responsibility ...dun like that word..."

"You work at a tavern and you're piking terrified of your boss."

"Spend a hour with my boss in the back room and you would be too."

"Look at the images. You say you're fine on your own, you're the shepherd boy, and you wall yourself off from people."

*The tavern erupted in a fit of laughter and spilling drinks after glancing at the bardess Rose who just entered.*

Image

Will the bartender live a lonely life with himself the greatest of his enemies? Or will he take the words of the card reader to heart? Open up she said to the bartender, allow more in was the advice.. But it seems the bartender still remained hesitant for to him, to trust a person is one of the biggest risk in life.

"If you do impregnate a woman soon, she'll be a redhead!"

"Oh hell naw!"

Image

More came to the Shore' new faces, old faces, returning faces. The streets of Roaringshores stirs small dust clouds. Boots of all kinds going about back and forth. Captains barkin orders to crewmen, sailors cat calling and whistling to anything in a dress and sometimes even in slender shapely trousers. After all, a pirate wears anything they want even their women! But within the Broken Goblet songs were sung and played while new faces stared in awe of the display! Some patrons would have heard a man ask the bartender how did he do it? How did he make such a place lively? All the patrons in the Broken Goblet would tell you..the bartender would had said..."Tend to the patrons, they bring the coins, without them I'm nobody."

"So this is where you hide out. How you been?"

"And just ..wot else you brought with you?"

"Oh jus' me myself an' some my own personal Crew."

"Been workin. I'm a bartender now, an honest job. Simple and active."

Image

What sort of bar wouldn't have its card games? A good gamble with a good drink is just what the Shore ordered and the Goblet provided. The bartender was on a lucky streak! Glares and narrowed eye suspicion were on the barkeeper. Was he cheatin? Or was Tymora close enough to offer a bit of love. But wait...luck ran out at the end when he lost all his winning and more!. Such the thing happens in the Shore'. "Never count yer blessin's early!"

"Never good with gamblin, lady lucky never sent me her kiss when it came to that. Not one of em risk takers so to speak. Precision man more or less"

"He's jis' scared ta' lose that hard earned money.. It's a rare occasion he gets money that he worked for."

Image

"... you've still seen him though.. still havn't I- just wanted him to see the - his family growing more. he always did see you as a brother. it's only fair "

"He is...m' brotha' We done as we done. An' less we done as Umberlee'd ask, an' more than she'd scream, be thankful there's somethin' we come back to."

Momentum grows as well in the Shore'. Local's know while it's going, it be wise to gather who you can and increase the count of crew members and dock workers. A pirate life is never easy, hungry bellies always puts a person in a mode of survival. A strong stout or the darkest ale can only go so far. Will the Captain's take the opportunity and renew old bonds and lure in the fresh catch of like minded folks? To man the ships to set out to seas and find riches beyond dreams?

Image

"Bet you would like to see some bit of change eh? "

" change could be good and bad, it does go both ways, something can be changed without much notice while a change can have lasting effects. having everyone I know back around these parts, is a good change "

"Well I cant speak for the people. Who comes and goes is on them. Even I got limits to who I can have come on over. Will they stay or not is not up to me. "

" wel making people stay sort of goes against the freedom, seen so many faces just come and go though here sea and land up above-

Image

Tis another weekend in Roaringshore. Filled Goblets and drunk breathes spread throughout the night. However deep within the bartender's mind, was recanting the stuff of fortune. For in his mind he thought.. " That woman was very close. Too close..damn she good."
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."

"Enjoy the Game"

Some say that Baldur's Gate is nothing more but heavy grinding and little to no role play. They are surely smoking something stupid. There are days the server has gone quiet. There's a lot of talk of discouragement in regards to the Time of Troubles server wide event. I say....

"The server is as good as the community makes it."
"So if you call BGTSCC home. Do something about it, because complaining never gets anywhere."

"The Slippery Bastard that never quits"
-Sel Darkmore 1358 DR

--------------------------------------------------
-With over 300+ Area maps
an array of game mechanics,
a hard working staff,
Free to play,
Lore tied to the Forgotten Realms which is one of the best campaign settings ever made by Ed Greenwood,
With forces of Good, Neutral and Evil...
With an adventurous Surface and a scary Underdark
And a bloody Pirate Village and two Elf settlements,
If you have the time in your life and you really enjoy such the game or hold on to old memories..
Then just do it.
I don't tap out. Someone's just gonna have to break my arm off.
Old players of BGTSCC taught me to help and teach others as a player regardless of your Rp, if it helps the server, then we all can enjoy a good game.
I'm doing it,

so what's your excuse?

((awesome thank you, Loving the outfit too! Very piratey aassasin creed black flag ))
((It really does look like it))
//I have fashion sense mind you!//
(( DM Ghost- I think the model is taken straight out of it, yes. Also hi! ))
//Oh snap we doom The Ghost has arrived//

*A few minutes later...*
" Ah Senor Sel ... how are you ?"
"Good good. Starting me day"
" Perhaps we shall skip the Rum .. and start with a milder wine?"
"Wine it is !"

Image

That was how the day started. An man who came for a drink. And that's how it always starts. They say , when it rains in Baldur's it pours. But I say, when it rains in the Shore', It bloody floods!

Image

When a minstrel ignites they have reached their core peak! No longer thinking no longer planning, they simply close their eyes and let the song play out from their very life essence!

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

"What was happening?" The bardess had started to wonder but it was too late! The power of song moved her and made her jump on the nearby table to sing her heart out! Back to back she was unrelenting and kept on playin and allowed the song to flow! All around the patrons danced and cheer and caroused! When another woman walked in to the Broken Goblet, the bartender didn't even to think twice. A few bags of coins tossed and a request made and a show of dance given! Tis wasn't long the ladies stole the show!

"Ooh she getting on the table!"

Image
Image
Image

And before everyone knew it, the nearby patrons and including the bartender gave in to desires and started to dance! But wait wait! Soon to follow, the front door of the tavern swung open and the Broken Goblets bruiser entered. After a quick look and without hesitation he rushed and leaped over the railing!!!!

Image
Image
Image

And landed with a thud square on the table and ripped off his clothes down to his loincloth and started to dance with the girls!!!

Image
Image

"Huzzah!"
" Bravo ... Magnifico! "

Image

"It's already the morn
Wake up, wake up
A new today is born
Wether you are a sailor
Or perhaps even the mayor
Today is a grand day to be lived in here!
Wake up, wake up
It's already the morn
Wake up, wake up
A new today is born"

After the spectacular show was done, a breather was in need, a refill of goblets. And someone knew just what to do at that given moment. The mother, the wife, even once upon a time Dreadlord pulled out her dark cloth and gems and started shuffling a deck of cards. But not just any cards. These were tarot cards and fortunes were read to whom ever wish to take that unknown step to get a hint of their future.

Image

"Oh hey! A mystical looking person and a drunken sea-man!"
"Tha' looked like the card or is'n that jus' a multi meanin'? "

Image

It wasn't to long that more patrons arrived. New faces new names with new goals. It never fails how students, adventurers come to the city of Baldur's to seek out something of purpose, a calling. Sometimes they find their paths and venture down a long journey to full fill their cause. Other times, a detour takes place early and people make friends or establish relationships they never thought they would have. Shady meets, shady deals, were a common thing with in Roaringshore. After all the High Captains cared not so long as no one poked around in their business.

Image
Image

The night came and gone only to arrive again. And patrons and employees within the Broken Goblet had lost track of time. Such is the case when intoxicating throat soothers had finally reached heads.

"Hey Frankie! There's an half-orc breed child claiming to be your offspring down in Nashkel! You got some weird fetishes champ!"
"What's happening over there Fancy Hat Guy?"
"Same ol stuff Frosty."
"She need to rest some, she been dancing and readin cards all night."
"Dancing? On that plank of wood you call a stage?"
"Say what you want that stage as sturdy as your skull."

Image

Everyone to include the bartender had thought soon the down time was near. He was wrong. More patrons arrived. And goblets needed to get filled!

Image
Image

"This the man that gonna be hostin the event in the pit."
"Ah, I have high hopes for that fight event."
"Hey Blue, aint water, but try this."
" Oh... it tastes quite nice, thank you Sel "
"I merely suggest tha' I like seein' 'im with a gal. 'Specially after 'e lost all that coin lastnight gamblin'. Should 'ave a woman t' go home to."
"Yeah well tis a woman that made off with my 2 bags last night. "
"Mostly just that there were infernal undead near the haunted mansion. They seemed to be led by some kind of undead that was also pacted."
"I'm lost, Was yeh namin' colors or adressin' me Cap"
"Oh, her name is Blue. She's a moon elf. Y' seen one before?"
"Only met one moon elf before and he a grumpy one."
"Oth is a moon, I think."
"He aint count! Aint know wot the kobolds arse that one is.'"
"Heard some women fancy him when he takes off his glasses, though."
"When. . .he. . .takes off his glasses?"
"How about a shanty or two?"
"Thank you for the good time this evening. The ale and music were perfect. Bye Abs. "
---------------------------

And who dare says my server has no rp? Bloody dolts. *Smirks*

Image
((Oh sorry almost forgot , Thanks DM Ghost for the light effects!))

To curious minds that may wonder what it's like in the Shore', the bartender would tell you ..
This isolated village nestles in a small deep water cove on the coast about a third of the way south from the mouth of the Winding Water toward the city of Baldurs Gate. This is a pirate hold but also more. The reputation of bold, lawless Roaringshore has spread far up and down the length of the Sword Coast.

Image

The faint of heart should not go there. Traveler should be aware that many pirates here are runaways, local thieves, and adventurers all out to make an impression, and perhaps attract some business as mercenary hirelings. A lot of posing goes on. This can make Roaringshore a very dangerous place for the visitor who isn't in a large, well-armed group, or obviously powerful. Roaringshore is ruled by a group of four corrupt officials called "the council."

Image

Like many places Roaringshore has its night life. The popular tavern known as the Broken Goblet. When pirates and lawless folk come to brawl and carouse, their first thought is to roll into the Goblet. The drinks is served here in ornately carved and blown glasses, some of which are exquisitely beautiful, and rather more of which are simply rude.

Image
Image
Image

A lot of early mornings, patrons would take up drooling in their sleeps with breath stenchful from a night of ale.
Sometimes even the taverns bartender engages with the patrons to keep them entertain which often results in himself drinking himself drunk.

Image

Lately, some ships drop off some fresh pair of sea legs wanting to explore or seek a name for themselves or to simply try new waters. The Shore's has many crews and Captain's. Some notable, others expendable. What ever their reasons, they have one thing in common. They like a drink. Nothing hits the belly better than a good ol dark ale, or some rum. The only difference is that drinks come in a goblet, made of blown glass.

Image
Image
Image

The Goblet is a popular but strange place. Nestled in a Pirate village , the tavern opens its doors to any all patrons. Customers however follow a very strict set of rules what few there is. Each rule has a purpose, each serves something of great importance. And so Captain Pike, and the bartender and the taverns guards and bruisers do not take kindly to patrons who break them. Whether or not the staff greatly respects or fears the Broken Goblets owner, they do not like displeasing her.
“We drink to get drunk, we get drunk to fall asleep, when we fall asleep, we commit no sin, when we commit no sin, we go to the Heaven's."
