A group of adventurers from Baldur’s Gate recently ventured south to Cloud Peaks to investigate rumors of peculiar unrest in the region. What they discovered, after an arduous trek to the peak of Speartop Mountain, was an epic clash between two adult dragons; namely the Adult White Dragon native to Speartop and a Shadow Dragon allegedly vying for territorial dominance. The adventurers thought it prudent to not interfere in the clash and simply withdraw from the wyrm lair – though not without serious incident. While the battle itself drew serious concern from Nashkel authorities, it’ll also likely to certainly draw the attention of the faith that claims dominion over the region.
*A notice was pinned on the bulletin board in Neshkel and a copy given to one of the sentries outside the Adventurers Guild*
"To whom it may concern,
There is a very large black ooze of a creature deep within the nearby mines. Its very formidable and has the ability to cause a lot of confusion while disorienting the mind. It was fought to a degree but we had to fall back because we were trying to kill each other do to the oozes ability to confuse us as to whom was the enemy. Do inform travelers and adventurers alike to take great caution. It was like seen just beyond the bridge where the devil lingers. "

Several Darkhold outriders are sent south towards Amn, patrolling the borders for sign or word of mages fleeing the country. Darkhold diplomats are also sent to Amn to attempt to negotiate the retrieval of mages from Amnian custody rather than allow them to be executed. "They'll be out of your hands, either way."
Tarina — The Witch of Darkhold, a dealer in spirits and black magic
In the meantime, Bladestone Foundation patrols continue to assist fleeing mages as they have for few months now.
Clearly no where near the size, strength, and resources of Darkhold's military efforts, even post-war, nor able to enter Amn proper, the Foundation troops assist mages as able to get to the local townships in the No Man's Land of the Coastal Planes and the Foundation compound itself to seek shelter from mage hunters and other persecutions.
If encountered, the Bladestone troops do not interfere with the Zhentarim patrols unless they are enacting active banditry on the local populace. They supply the other soldiers with professional courtesy and clearly expect the same if discussions take place.

Followers of the Church of the Triad can be seen tacking up posters throughout the Coast in search of men and women who wish to volunteer. Offers of training; basic equipment, and purpose are spoken to by any whom seek them out. [//NPC and PC]
Reports of a fierce battle between a group of wyverns and an unknown draconic figure. No one knows who or what it was, but witnesses claim to have seen an adult bronze dragon in the midst of the fight, unleashing powerful blows.
As the battle raged on, the Wyvern matriarch herself appeared, determined to expel the invader from her territory. But after a long fight, the dragon seemed to be more than a match for the matriarch, overpowering her with its sheer size and strength.
In the end, the dragon emerged victorious, leaving the wyverns to retreat. But what could it have been? Some say it was a shape-shifter, while others claim it was a mage who had transformed into a dragon. Regardless of the truth, it seems that the Wyvern Valley south of Nashkel has become not only a place of mystery but also one of dangerous, witch Wyverns prowling the region with ever greater determination.
A lone ranger dressed in winter furs may have been seen stepping in and out of trees in the wilds outside of Nashkel and it's surrounding villages. She would spend great amounts of time in the wilds before setting foot in the villages and Nashkel itself. She remains quiet, mostly observing and listening as she slowly sipped a Luskan Black. When the need arises, she'd speak with a friendly tone.
Head Watchknight and Helmite paladin and Watcher Wai Li may be seen in recent days in a fury of activity. Going to and from the Cloud Peaks with a large band of comrades as well as delivering missives about the town, including to Mayor Ghastkill's estate. She may also be seen hosting a large amount of adventurers and Helmites at the Temple of the Guardian in recent days...
In time between, the Watcher of Helm and paladin may be seen attempting to reassure the beings resident to Nashkel and Amn locally that the Everwatch and Temple of Helm stand in vigil against what she terms "copper threats of extortion made against Nashkel and Amn by winter-obsessed fanatics in the Cloud Peaks attempting to unnaturally end the cycle of the seasons and the local peace that had existed between followers of the Frostmaiden and Nashkel for years" and that "the townsfolk of Nashkel have always been a tough lot and this challenge will be defeated and overcome like all the rest in platinum vigil...drastic efforts are being undertaken by the Everwatch and Church of Helm and friends of Nashkel and the Everwatch to restock the food supply destroyed by the fanatics." Occasional cries may bellow at the end of her speeches to locals: "I have proudly called Nashkel home for almost a decade. I hold adamantine belief in you all and this town in the face of this cold threat to our homes, lives, and wellbeing and the local profit and to the commerce of Amn. HELM PROTECT NASHKEL! FOR THE GLORY OF AMN!"

There was quite a commotion as a detachment from the Northern Chapter of the Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heat, arrived in Nashkel. Standing over the sacks of grain stood a boisterous half elf with a beard that made the Nashkel Dwarven population take note. Flanked by a small escort detachment sent by the religious militant order.
The Ranger who readily identified himself as “Lead Warden, Nigel Blaquehawke” after a rather boisterous “Tally-Ho!” As he meet with city rulers delivering aid and the promises that “ my good Lord and Grand Knight Aaron Lyonaler sends aid and offer of help to the good gods fearing people of Nashkel as they endure these hardships, that good men will not stand idly as innocents suffer. The Most Noble Order of the Radiant Heart is here…”

A cloaked and robed huntress stalks the Cloudpeaks at night in search of prey. Two daggers and a bow on her back, she aims carefully at a new birds - firing. She does not seem adept at the art, missing several arrows. One or two miss their marks, but several targets are hit.
She moves down the mountain, back to Nashkel - carrying with her a meager prize; two woodpeckers. She plucks and roasts them over the communal fire - before leaving the meat sitting by the fire to cook to ash. She moves to a local Inn, renting a room for the night and keeping to herself otherwise.
Recently group of people left Nashkel in a hurry, moving towards mountains at south. Since that time in Cloud Peaks began appearing creatures such as ice elementals, wolves and Orglashes, slowly incrising their numbers each day.
Few of them could be spotted at Nashkel's outskirts, but none approched the town itself yet.

The huntress leaves on her second and final voyage into the Cloudpeaks. She stalks around, using a wand of invisible to bypass many of the new and more rampant Children of Auril that lurk about.
She takes aim and fires. Miss. Miss. Hit! Her bow is slung over her shoulder and two daggers jump to her hands. She stalks forward - before finally claiming her prize.
She leaves a different way than she came - making for the Uldoon Trail and escaping Amn. A bloody white bird is held in her grasp.
Kervel arrives in the town of Nashkel, dressed inappropriately for the weather in his lighter priestly attire of earthly colors. He greets the cold and snow troubling the town with a heavy frown, muttering under his breath, while gently holding his amulet of Blooming rose on a sunburst wreath of golden grain. The cold seems to only bother his mind and not his body. The older priest makes his way to introduce himself and his offer to Mayor Ghastkill after briefly conversing with some locals for guidance. After extending his aid with the current bounty of crops, he also extends the will of help, while limited, for the replantation of crops once these troubles pass from his brethren in Greenest. The visiting priest asks to be taken to what remains of the bounty of her goddess crop. There he instructs it to be brought together in one safe and large enough space.
Once this would be done, he would take a moment to concentrate and focus over what bounty of harvest remain and is brought before him. Kervel would hold his amulet with his other hand and ceremonially touch the mound of food before him and ceremonially utter a prayer on it.
Earthmother, we beseech your boon. Blessed is your bounty, tended and nurtured with care. Blessed are your faithful, by your wisdom and grace. Blessed are we, to receive your favor. Life springs anew.
As the prayer is spoken it begins to manifest with blossom of foliage and shimmering greenery over the harvest. What was brought before Kervel would grow, as if filled with nutritions, life and health, to be doubled in yield.
The cold continues to batter at Nashkel, the lone settlement among those affected by the unseasonal snow that has not yet capitulated to the Temple of Auril's demands. Troop movements within Amn suggest there is activity moving northward, but no formal detachment of soldiers has arrived to the town yet. The pressure on Mayor Ghastkill to comply with the Aurilite's demands grow stronger as more and more voices within Nashkel seek an end to this spiteful winter.
Meanwhile, Kervel Greencrest receives approval from the town's authorities to extend the aid of Chauntea in bolstering and fortifying any crop that has managed to survive the unnatural cold.
IF you are interested in associating Chauntea in your characters background or RP then lets talk!

*Head Watchknight Wai Li might be seen going about Nashkel in recent days going about public ways and squares, attempting to reassure the residents of Nashkel, a town where she has lived for roughly a decade, to continue to hold out against the Aurilite fanatics.*
"For years, the Church of Auril in this region did not extort this town or us, or Amn, friends, and a peaceful relationship stood as normal, but now these new to the church of Auril kobold extremists stab us in the back with this treachery against the longstanding peace! Our resolve will show them that any magical extortion and exploitation of our good will shall be met with vigil. Friends of the town even now bring food and prayers of the Earth Mother to keep us fed through this trial of cold.
The Council of Six has sent word of backing for our vigilance against these cold fanatics. We will hold out against this unnatural winter in spring and summer, we will do all that we can to see that profits will not be frozen, but thawed, and even flowing again by the Fall to our adamantine Amnian mountain town, the very place where Helm himself stood in guardianship from past threats of doom that we then as well overcame! HELM PROTECT NASHKEL! FOR THE GLORY OF AMN!"
