Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
Shortly after Edelgarde sends a handful of heavily warded adventurers out of the Keep to deal with an unspecified crisis in the Cloakwood, a battered and exhausted Ilhara arrives at the gates, requesting entry to speak with the scribe. The Eilistraeen drow seems intent on delivering a report of some kind, and promptly proceeds to do so in private.
The content, topic, and veracity of her report are subject to speculation, and only Edelgarde knows whether it pertains to the Cloakwood incident or some other matter of importance. Either way, Ilhara soon retires to Winthrop's inn, and is not seen for the rest of the night...

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
In the days since her return to the Keep, Ilhara has attracted an unusual amount of attention from a number of equally unusual elves:
- A blind moon elf - almost mistakable for a large drow at a distance - seemed to express an interest in having her as one of his tutors as he continues his struggle to master his magic.
She is said to have responded with some measure of uncertainty, doubting that she would be as useful to him as he thought. - A mithral-plated wood elf later approached her in the courtyard, engaging in what might have been some kind of casual conversation before moving on to her room at Winthrop's inn.
Nobody knows what they did behind closed doors, but the elf did not leave her room until much later in the day.

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
Recently, Ilhara visited Phlydia's shop to perform a couple of alchemical experiments using the shells and mandibles of assorted monstrous beetles and spiders from the vicinity of Candlekeep. Her experiments were successful, if not all that fruitful.
Maybe a day later, a mithral-plated elf could be seen delivering several crateloads of beetle shells and spider mandibles to Winthrop's inn. According to Winthrop, the same elf had heard her remark that it's a way to pass the time... Now, she spends almost all of her time making trips back-and-forth between his inn and Phlydia's shop, trying to use all the reagents up before her tenday at the Keep expires...

In the wake of the latest wave of blood rain and earthquakes shaking Candlekeep, Ilhara takes a break from her alchemy and asks for something to write on.

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
The Mithralclad is once again seen entering Candlekeep with yet more large crates in tow. All of them making it to poor Winthrop's inn. The ease with which he carried them making them look deceptively light. Brining in two crates stacked atop one another in at a time with the only limit seemingly been the awkwardness of carrying them rather than the weight. What secrets could the crates hold? Rumour holds it's more bug bits. And by the amount of crates? Even more than before.

The Weave continues to distort and reports of ever-growing examples of wild magic and destruction keep coming. New, devastating effects of Wild Magic are witnessed, including cracks in the earth that spill lava, extended red mist, earthquakes, oily slime oozing out of the spellcaster's pores, loss of hair on those around the spellcaster and growth of hair on the plants around the spellcaster.
Faerun celebrates the death of Bane.
A battle takes place in the perimeter wall leading to Darkhold. The Alliance takes a crushing blow, caught between two forces. Rampaging undead, fire giants and drow take part in attacking the sieging army's position.
An animated corpse is rumored to be stalking the area near Kraak Helzak.
The efforts of the Bladestone Foundation to clean up the Lighthouse South of Candlekeep continue.
The 7th Company of the Flaming Fist secures a position in the Field of the Dead, around the Vault containing the restless dead.
13th Eleint, Fields of the Dead - The Triadic Church and their allies face and defeat the necromantic Cult of the Onyx Serpent.
13th Eleint, South of Baldur's Gate - Two men of the Flaming Fist are murdered after killing a kobold. "Feel the weakling's strength" was written on a note left attached to the bodies.
17th Eleint, South of Cloakwoods - An ominous area of darkness appears in the woods, as well as a large amount of undead. Witnesses also notice the presence of undientified creatures that "looked like genasi but without elemental traits". The creatures were dispatched by a group of adventurers led by Yuri Lichelina.
17th Eleint, South of Candlekeep - The books recovered from the Lighthouse by the Bladestone Foundation are brought to Candlekeep. Those seem to be ledgers of a sharran cult.
21st Eleint, Fields of the Dead - Members of the Triadic Church mobilize with the 7th Company of the Flaming Fist, carrying with them supplies and equipment for an extended stay. One of their detachment finds that the entire population of a village has been entirely killed and gathered in the same amorphous pile, that promptly reanimates. The abomination is defeated and the village burned to the ground.
25th Eleint, Baldur's Gate - The trial to Amos Thistle takes place at the Ducal Palace. The defendant is condemned to have his sword hand severed and agrees to renounce the last name Blackrose and cooperate against the Zhentarim. He is then entrusted to the Order of the Radiant Heart for his rehabilitation.
26th Eleint, Fields of the Dead - A barrier appears around the Vault of the Dead.
26th Eleint, Bridgefort - The fort is looted by the very same creatures that were posted there before heading to Soubar. It is rumored that this happened by order of the commander.
26th Eleint, Bridgefort and Fort Prominence - Amos Thistle visits the two forts accompanied by the Order of the Radiant Heart, the High Lady and Lord Vale. The mercenaries are dismissed and the remaining men are given the choice to either leave or remain under Amos Thistle's service against the Zhentarim. The old banners and symbols of evil organizations are removed and burned.
29th Eleint, Baldur's Gate - The construction works of the public kitchen for the poor begin in the Harbor District.
29th Eleint, Roaringshore - Two altercations take place, likely due to a dispute on faith and then revenge for the outcome of the first altercation. In both cases the bifurcated bodies were surrounded by a swirling maelstrom of teardrops daubed in their own blood.
30th Eleint, River Chiontar - Due to an effect of Wild Magic, the river is now filled with pink poisonous water. A building in the Outer City catches fire and being of fire and ice come through from another dimension.
30th Eleint, Thundar's Ride - The elf known as Arkaw is killed in an accident caused by Wild Magic.

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
As a large group gathers amid the blood rain in Candlekeep, Ilhara briefly ventures out of Winthrop's and engages them in conversation. Although her dismay at the rain is readily apparent, she seems in reasonably good spirits for her circumstances, meeting new faces and cataclysmic weather alike with a generous dose of dark humor and idle banter.
As the others depart, however, and she receives a brief missive waiting for her at the inn, the bloodstained drow promptly turns back around and heads for the gates. Whatever text the note may have held, its impact on the recipient is immediate and clear: She leaves the Keep with her head hung low and her stance reduced to a listless slouch...

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
A message is slipped into the lockbox next to the Guide's office. It reads as follows:
Greetings,
My name is Aska Le'te'te'dwa of the Elven Court. I'm reaching out on behalf of Oth Neren, a healer currently attending to the wounded after the battle with Bhaal. Recently a Watcher of Helm was called upon to restore the lives of the fallen. According to the Watcher, several of the victims refused to be called back unless it was done by a follower of Torm. Unfortunately, word has spread that Torm has fallen.
Oth recalled that the god Deneir was rumored to be staying in Candlekeep and would seek an audience with the Scribe of Oghma should this be true. It is our hope that the Lord of All Glyphs and Images will be able to impart some wisdom that will aid us in our dilemma, perhaps even a way to restore the life of the fallen Torm so that his followers may in turn be saved.
Please send a message to the Shrine of Suffering within Baldur's Gate as soon as possible. Time may be of the essence!

During the night between the 10th and 11th of Marpenoth, a greyish tiefling woman is brought in by a group consisting of a blue-haired elven woman, a hatted fellow and a hooded halfling man. The woman was in a state of utter delirium and suffering from some manner of internal injury. They brought her into the infirmary, where it was soon discovered that she had a dangerously high-grade fever, after which efforts were made to reduce it in wait for Candlekeep's clerics to arrive and assess the situation.

A hawk makes its way into Candlekeep with a letter attached to its right leg. Proudly perched atop a bench, cawing and squealing at anyone who gets too close. Oftentimes flying away if they ignore the warning. Anyone coming close enough would notice that the letter is addressed to "Edelgarde" in big bold letter. Should Edelgarde approach the hawk would fly on over to her and allow for her to take the letter before leaving. Unless she'll be visibly off to write something in response.
The letter itself is neatly written, rolled up inside a paper envelop and tied tightly with a bit of red cloth.

Edelgarde,
We spoke before of me handing you over some Bone Wands, I have seven I can make a delivery to you whenever is best. Perhaps not the best of times in general with how the weave is but I'm sure they will come in handy. Better with you than with me.
This is also partly a way for Lateu to recognize you so he can fly directly to you instead of going through all this. Will definitely come in handy on that you can trust me.
All the best,

Re: Candlekeep Role-Play
Early in the morning of the 26th of Marpenoth, just as the dawn breaks the trees, a tall elf in a blue coat could be seen dragging a crate up the path to the gates of Candlekeep, a constant rattling clinking heard from within. After being allowed into the keep, the crate's top is wrenched open to show the contents to the guards, vials of ink stacked into sorted holders, which are handed off to whatever poor Avowed the Guide might have left to deal with things that morning. The elf is then seen dissapearing into the Senior Avowed quarters for the rest of the morning.

Wouldn't pass too much time before the Guide takes upon herself the task of inspecting the parcel. With an uncharacteristic enthusiasm she would inspect every single bottle, thoroughly testing viscosity, hue and opacity, and finally making sure each bottle is classified with a tag and stored appropriately.

Since a couple of days, the people of Candlekeep and the pilgrims on the Way of the Lion, from Beregost up to the bridge in the South Crossing would witness quite the curious sights: a duo or trio of angels patroling the roads and scanning the skies of those areas, aiding pilgrims or fending off bandits and creatures of the dark. If someone would follow them, they will end up in the keep of knowledge itself.
