Help a noob build a character over RP

Hey folks,

Since I am a noob on 3.5 ed and to nwn 2, I prepared a RP idea to build my first character on while I explore and learn the game and the PW.
My idea is simple: My char is a Fey possessed(?) unwealthy miner who finds himself as a warlock over a night with hazy dreams. I used the term "possessed" but understand what a warlock's master do. He can not remember anything about that night except flashes of the hazy dream. This is maybe due to his fey heritage or as an ancestors deals, etc... And my story revolves after which point in the game world.

So here's my questions:

1) Is warlock viable as a first playthrough or at all?
2) what kind of build do you suggest for warlock class?
3) Or Should I begin with an easier class?
4) I'm all up to RP but I have only little knowledge char builds, If I take whatever picks my eyes do I die a lot?

5 -Bonus) What should I do for first playthrough?

Long story short, as a first toon, I'd like to have both interesting RP and a powerful build not to die a lot.

The Warlock class is a powerful class, but not necessarily at the beginning/low levels. You might consider playing a Fighter or a Monk or a Druid for the first 10 Levels, then make a 100% RCR into your “real” Character, after you’ve learned a bit about the Server.

Lately, as a newb noob, you WILL see your PC die a lot until you gain a bit of OOC knowledge about the “system.” But don’t let that stop you from getting into the fun of Role-play!

Dying a few times is what happens to me in all new games at first, so I don't mind but it is better to have a strong char at first so I think instead of warlock, I'll roll for a Monk from your selection; Thank you for the advice.

I'm all for RP! That's why I picked this server. Other PWs either doesn't RP or have too few players. Since I was looking for this experience for too long, I appreciate the server and everyone!

I've read Getting Started while the game download PW files, but I don't understand some things fully.

So RCR is XP transfer, am I right? Even if I brick my build I can transfer the xp to another char and go on. But can I transfer the XP from the 2nd char to a 3rd?

That build will work. I remember that the player and builder of that build, Yuglash, played it for an epic Grinding toon. And it worked!

Thanks for the heads up, it says he can solo everything albeit with wands.

You've already got some good advice from Steve, and I think that build will help you get started in this server quite well.

Apart from that, feel free to approach people, and tell them OOCly (by using // or (( in front of your text) that you are new here. Most people are really happy to help others. A lot of the fun from this game also comes from your interactions with others.

Regarding the RCRs, you can freely recreate characters up to level 10. This goes without penalty. After that, the penalty will slowly build up to 50% of your earned XP.

Let's see ... No, I don't think I have other advice than that, for now

Will do. For now I am familiarizing myself with the UI and maps. Doing low level quests, etc.

Is there some sort of bank that I can transfer items between my characters?

edit: Blacksmith doesn't work for inbetween chars.
