Crossbow and Ranger (or Bard?)

So, BG Discord utterly failed in providing any help here, so now...the Forum.

Some questions regarding an Archery focused Ranger and a Crossbow. Any synergy there? Any use of those free Feats? Besides Favored Enemies, of course.

Or, is is just better to go Bard, and get that sweet magic dmg added, plus the awesome spellbook?

Another basic question: if going for Crossbow Sniper, Mastery...what other Feats are essential for a crossbow ranged character?

For archers especially, Go at least ranger13. Tracking and Camouflage will give you much more than just +AB and +Damage.

With ranger, especially if you dont plan to get many levels therefore spellcasting is irrelevant, you can mix it with hunter and get additional perks. For example you can make an archery and TWF build

You really don't go ranger 13 for camo and track if you are not going to go Ranger 21. If you want camo hips without Bane of Enemies you go WS...

You do.

I dont think you could have gotten some one better to help you with a ranger-xbow. Truthiness is the master Lord.

well i got 4 difrent xbow chars, and a bow and a sling build also, and i say all depend on what you want do to.

Hin is the race to use for xbow builds

If you want to beable to Solo bosses need a hips char, Ranger/fighter/SD is the way to go and need SD as most bosses is not in a outside wildernes area except balor, not tried if cavestalker can make up for it, it should, SD just the more safe choice as it works every where.

Bard/fighter works very well, very good party char and you got that sweet haste that really make crossbow archers shine, so you do not have to carry lots of boots or haste wands. And need 4 fighter to get feats enought for a decent build, thou it cost 20% xp penalty.

Cleric/ hospitaler/ warpriest, works, lost of magic dmg and dmg buff, high survival with healing spells and summons to tank and etheral jaunt and etherelness, depend on deity and domains, how much extra survival you got, like if you got concealment spell or dmg reduction or extra feat.
Downside to cleric build is you have to cast dmg and attack buffs all the time. Should be able to also solo bosses, but well they immune to silence now so you for sure get all your buffs stripped with Mords.

Lastly is a none Hin with not 21 ranger lvls but more fighter lvls, it got the highest min dmg and highest dmg of all. (how?? well i wont tell that easy but is a big min max build).

Last i want to add the dmg looks good until you shoot bosses remember manyshot are several arrows and each is subject to dmg red and resistence so boss with 15 dmg red and 40 % magic resistence wont take much physical or magic dmg from say a bard build, need to keep that in mind.

Oh and nearly forgot need a build that reach either 26-30-34 dex to get most value out of the master crossbow snipers dex mod x1.5.

Im trying to build a stealthy Xbox master but id like it to be a dwarf. What's the level spread of Ranger /Fighter/ Sd ?
And what about Fighter12/Bard15/Sd3 ?
