In response to reports that the Shrine to Chauntea was recently defiled, Osric posts two House Vale guards nearby in the shrine’s defense. Each has been equipped with contact medallions and instructed to summon aid if needed.

An incident occurs at the shrine of Chauntea not so long after it was supposedly littered with some remains of undead and other dead creatures. A large and unwashed genasi wearing chainmail apparently offered the Priest attending the shrine a bloody bag. A heated convesation unsued with accusation from one side to the other. The situation escalated to a point where the genasi drew his sword at the old man and threathed him amongst the shouting. At this point the city watch in the vicinity detained the aggressor and took him away. Whether it was only for brandishing a weapon or for something else too is not known.

Several days after dropping off the first shipment of fish to House Vale, the Archdruid can once again be seen making his way through the city; this time with a large sack. Not having the High Ranger by his side this time, he makes a few wrong turns before finally finding House Vale once again, and leaving another load of fish with their guardsmen.

Osric is quick to thank the Guardian and after ensuring none are rotting or diseased, distributes the fish to those in need. The charity soup kitchen is among the first recipients; meanwhile, a barrel is frozen over with fey-pact rime magic and stored within the Vale Estate for future use.

Grobb had taken some time for himself the past few days and nights within Baldur's Gate, spending his time in the temple of Tyr and in the Vale estate. It had been some time since he had heard reports of his half brother Olog, a truly cruel and twisted mountain orc from his father's side. News of this distressed Grobb somewhat, memories flooding in of the horrible things he had gone through of the hands of both his father and his half brother. He had hoped that when he escaped the tight grip of Olog's control some year ago, when he believed his half brother dead, that he would be able to live a life of calm. Reports and rumours found their way to him from Soubar, Olog had been spotted near the town.

Confiding in Rain Te'Vill, Nadine Ravenwood and Dame Yashe, he told them of Olog, the danger he presented to the innocent and civilised world that was at his mercy. Despite the offers of help offered to him from his friends, Grobb didn't want them to be involved, for fear that they would suffer at his half brother's hand. A tenday passed, no new news had surfaced about Olog, and Grobb felt a sense of calm, perhaps he had skulked off into the Underdark, like the coward he truly was. That all changed when a rumour of a hulking, black skinned orc appeared near High Hedge. Grobb decided to face his demons and go off to find Olog.

He reached High Hedge, following a few remaining signs of a trial, minor scenes of destruction led through the rolling hills, until Grobb found himself in the Serpent Hills. What Olog was doing here was anyone's guess, but it didn't matter, he needed to be dealt with. Climbing the mountains, following the trail, Grobb found himself at the dusty doors to what he assumed was a temple. Prying it open, he was met with a darkened room, the few strands of sunlight marking spots on the ground. Investigating further, the room lit up with roaring braziers, the skulking slithering sound of Yuan-ti guards filled the room, a looming cacophony of doom that was heading his way.

Grobb prepared for the fight, his gauntlets tightening around his axe and his shield as the monstrous Yuan-ti threw themselves at him. Sharp metal sliced through tails and arms and heads alike, the Yuan-ti got a few good strikes in as well, but before long, Grobb left the temple, his armour pierced, covered in both his own and their blood. He sighed heavily and slowly hobbled his way back home, back to Baldur's Gate.

Word floats about of a man in red and yellow garb was seen having an extensive conversation with a small squad of Flaming Fist members at the edge of Baldurian lands, just across the Wyrm's Crossing during the night of the 14th of Hammer. It's said midway through their conversation, the man in red created a display of brilliant bright light in the area illuminating the old ruins for a brief time before handing over a large sum of trade bars to the Captain. Shortly after the same man in red could be seen making his way across the Crossing and into the Gate proper, his first destination apparently being the local graveyard. From that moment until dawn, flashes of light could be seen coming from the burial grounds, with the same man departing at sunrise.

It had been a long day for Grobb Bearheart, he had been busy sorting out the small, but many tasks that he had been putting off as he recovered from his injuries during the fight with the Yuan-ti some time ago. Once all his tasks were down, he began to head out of the city for training. Once there he bumped into Rain Te'Vill, a close friend of his and steward of House Vale. He spoke with her as it had been a while since they had caught up and she mentioned to him that she was feeling adventurous, trying to drag Grobb on one of her many "expeditions", to which he of course offered to accompany her on.

They travelled to the Friendly Arm Inn, through the Sharptooth woods. Once there, they met Yashe, paladin of Sune, and the one who had been responsible for overseeing his atonement for his prior attack on Doron Amar. After a brief talk, Rain revealed that now that Grobb had completed the trials that had been set out for him by Yashe, under Councillor Feleron's request, that Grobb was ready to "stand trial" before the councillor.

Rushing to change out of his armour, he donned his finest attire, not that there was much in the way of such for half orcs. As the three made their way to Doron Amar, Grobb was nervous but determined to see this through and finally put the matter to rest. Once they arrived, Rain went ahead to request that Yashe be able to join, being a tiefling, she was restricted from joining. After a short time, and a heart to heart talk with Yashe, Grobb and the others were allowed entry.

His heart pounded as he was now face to face with Councillor Feleron, along with two unknown elves, one being an aspiring applicant to the elven village, the other being a captain of the village. Rain led with the proceedings, followed by Yashe and finally, Grobb, wanting to let the others go first. Feleron's reception seemed cold, but it was expected to Grobb. After some time and some talking, with both Rain and Yashe putting forth their word and their pledge of Grobb's actions to redeem himself, the half orc was able to breathe a sigh of relief, as Feleron absolved Grobb of the crime he had committed against Doron Amar. The deed he had been working towards for months was finally achieved.

The group made their polite and formal departure and returned to the city, with Grobb even giving both Rain and Yashe a great big hug, something he had never done before. With a renewed sense of self worth, Grobb returned to the Vale estate and informed Lord Osric Vale of the news. The mood was bright and after kind words being exchanged, Lord Vale put Grobb's name forward to becoming a man at arms under the estate's employ, once all of the prominent members agreed to such a thing, but with the Lord himself, Rain Te'Vill and Jak, the Master of the Watch already giving their approval, it seemed likely that Grobb was about to start a brand new journey with the estate.

DaloLorn wrote: Tue Jan 10, 2023 10:17 am Over the past tendays, a redheaded girl once seen loitering around the crossroads in the Outer City seems to have moved inward, to the rooftops and walkways above the streets of Baldur's Gate. Though on clearer days she might be seen wandering around or sitting around busier or more scenic positions, the frequent snowfalls tend to drive her to take partial shelter under one specific rooftop in the Steeps. Either way, if she's not on her feet, she tends to dangle them, bored but otherwise seemingly carefree, off the edge of whatever perch she's found for herself. As for her attention, it seems to wander at random between the sky above and the bustle of the city below.

Occasionally, though, she does descend into the streets below for more than just food, drink, and sleep. Her movements at such times are hard to keep up with - both because of their habitual verticality and because of her skill at blending in when she wants to - but they seem loosely confined to the seedier districts of the Lower City, for reasons not yet known...
As the days go by, the redhead's trips onto the streets of the Lower City become increasingly infrequent and half-hearted, as though she is growing convinced that they will get her nowhere. Her behavior otherwise remains largely unchanged... until one night, she is visited by a dark-haired tiefling of a similar build to her own. It isn't the first time the tiefling has visited her in the rooftops, but this time, she leads her through the Wide and out of the city, heading directly north.

When she returns to the Gate, however, her behavior transforms drastically. She no longer seems to leave her traditional perch in the Steeps for much besides visiting the nearest toilet: She sleeps under the rooftop, she eats and drinks from a set of magical utensils, and instead of sitting on the edge and dangling her feet in the air, she spends most of her time sitting against the wall behind her, using her knees as a pillow. Perhaps strangest of all, though, is the fact that instead of climbing up and down along whichever route feels most convenient at any given time, she has started to acknowledge the existence of stairs.

Whatever happened in the north, it must have shaken her deeply...

On this foggy morning in Baldur's Gate, citizens would notice upon passing by Darius Estate, a new addition to their sign. The sign, which usually announces the location of their tavern The Lewd Lyre, now has a piece of parchment hanging from the sign resting over the word "Lewd". In Lewd's place, the parchment hanging gently from a small pin is furnished with the word "Prude". The word itself, drawn in what appears to be charcoal and carefully chosen paint colors, follows the same character style of the rest of the letters on the sign itself, but it has been embellished with highly-detailed vines and flora. The word is painted in a rich plum color, with a sleek charcoal outline. Lush green vines with pink and silver flowers curl around each letter like ivy. The artistic expression not only makes the word stand out, but is visually-appealing to the eye. The masterpiece on parchment waves ever-so-lightly against the breeze, now proudly welcoming patrons to The Prude Lyre.

In the Eastway district of Baldurs Gate, rumours are appearing of another sighting of a werewolf. This time there was blood found at the scene of an attack, though not of the people or of the assailant it seemed.

*A note is left near the Boatman at the Wyrms Crossing.
The handwritten warning is first in elven and then in common.*

((Be warned! If you take the boat to the Shore,
you risk being taken to Calimshan as a slave
for there are those eager to get their hands on the coins you will bring.

Be warned! If you are an elf, stay away from the Shore.
You risk your life and freedom by going and getting shipped to Calimshan as a slave
for there are those who are eager to spend the coins they get from your hide.))

A phenomenon lit up the site where a Shrine of Chauntea resides in the farmlands by Wyrm's Crossing. It melted the snow around the shrine and made the flowers grow anew in the middle of winter. Old graying priest, a faimiliar face tending to the shrine, could be seen praying and marveling the sight. He was soon joined by his hulking friend from House Vale. Later on the large half-orc could be seen wrestling with a runaway cow, graping it tight on her horns. Successfully leading it back to the pen across the road with an impressive display of strenght, much to the relieve of the priest and the old lady owner of the cow. Later on the priest was seen putting large quantity of vegetables and even fruit on offer at the shrine, no doubt inspired by the favor bestowed upon it.

With other troubles resolved and new concerns of Malarite lycanthropes stalking the city, Osric withdraws House Vale guards stationed at the Shrine to Chauntea and elsewhere to reinforce the defenses around the estate.
