This new parry mode makes it so you can't cast spells with it on, but it still spends the spell slot if you happen to forget or misclick, which is illogical - inability to cast and spell failure are two different things - and needlessly punishing. Could this be tweaked to simply block spellcasting without using up one's spells?
Also, Rhifox: do you remember that suggested parry mode alternative to bring back the option to stop auto-attack? Is that possible after all?

Engine limitations. The spellhook runs after the spell has been "cast", at which point we have no way of refunding the slot without force-resting you.

Re: Parry Mode Fix/Enhancement
Is the intent for parry to not block grapple attempts? It blocks knockdown attempts.
