Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
House of Cards report a settling of the local market as winter conditions progress. They implied stocks are in a good place and many ships are in place for winter works. One ship was expected soon.
At Amberfield, near Triel, the site of recent salmon poaching, a shrine to Helm was attacked and destroyed. The local militia, well organised, and equipped quickly rallied only to be confronted by a small group of Devils. Following a well drilled plan they fell back to await help from nearby communities. However by the time they arrived the militia group had been destroyed or scattered and the relief force was quickly in trouble until the first group of Hellriders appeared. Two devils were destroyed and the rest moved. The shrine was beyond repair. The reason for the activity was not clear.
Rumours of work to be had at Roaringshore surfaced. Perhaps pay was raised in the aftermath of recent troubles there but for whatever reason word that gems were sought for top prices, and rare original books of the Ramsi series and the Younger series were mentioned. Information it seems was at a premium too with mouth-watering fees offered for information about the location of Gifts of the Gods relics, and the lair known as Yondalla's coastal hideout. Even the docks were busy and one trader there was offering top prices for green sunfish, small octopus, sturgeon, Marlin, fleshwort and stoneroot with a bonus for a complete collection.
A knock on effect of this new trade was the de population in cloakwood of a growing hamlet as settlers relocated to better paid fishing jobs. Many a druid in the cloakwood was relieved to see this growth in community trimmed to manageable levels.
Recent troubles with cultists and undead in the hills north of Nashkel were apparently put to an end when a mixed patrol of Knights visited the hills before moving north and along the chionthar apparently hunting devils.
The winding way river insurance company reported their best and safest week recently. Trade negotiated winter conditions in fine spirit. Though one group of treasure hunters chose to leave the area declaring their work there was done.
A rumour circulating Beregost suggested there was a reward of two hundred bags for a mace hidden at Nashkel.

Trade opportunities, in the form of pop up markets along trade routes have and continue to provide opportunities for profit especially for those with trade skills or perhaps less willingly providing a profit to those with sleight of Hand skills. (ooc mechanical pop opportunities for extra profit, rp as suits the gaining of some extra gold)
Lost lore is often to be found along the coast. Lore effectively locked away from the ignorant in research. Research lore skills are the key to unlocking lore hidden usually amongst so much information the true value of information can only be established with such expertise.
(ooc locked lore books might be found that need skills to open and unlock lore - please rp as research among a large collection of information at scene or elsewhere)
Long lost treasures exist along the coast so they say. During the normal course of making a profit along the tradeway, in between training and patrolling, on a rainy day perhaps, exploring strange and otherwise useless pieces of information might open a door on this lost world and it's wealth.
ooc: TY to all players who keep the world alive, and particularly those who one way or another do not discard found information dropped into game, even if not particularly interested for their pc, but move that information and items along as part of enhancing the drama for all.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
House of Cards report a temporary shortfall of farm goods brought about by events at Cloakwood along the Tradeway. Here it is reported a procession of Fey fell upon the corruptions in the Cloakwood filling the vacuum more to the liking of Silvanus. This led to the displacement of Shadow druids and other cultists who disrupted trade wagons heading north.
This and recent sightings of shadowy undead in the Wyvern hills near the Tradeway had done nothing to inspire traders of late.
The Trade company owner concerned about a lack of support for the route shifted business further east and this shortfall for Baldur's gate has not yet been filled.
At Amberfield, near Triel, the site of recent Devil raid a inquiry inspired by local legislation has been undertaken and concluded that the devil known locally as Yhogovolish the Invincible, was behind the raid and apparently it had been to demonstrate a certain rage at the Everwatch who had laid low a messenger sent by the devil. The village committee concluded that though this was an isolated incident and they were at no special risk in the future steps should be taken to enhance the rapid deployment of appropriate adventurers best able to fight devils and specifically ones that were invincible.

In contrast to other routes it was only the winter weather troubled the trade along the Winding River as traders continued to report an uptake on safe runs along this route.
A rumour circulating Beregost suggested there was a reward of two hundred and fifty bags for a mace hidden at Nashkel.

Roars from the Arena
The sounds of cheering and shouting could be heard roaring through the wide of Baldur's Gate. A display of the newly established soldiers of the Golden Crux had some to test their strength against the best that Baldur's Gate had to offer. Many came from all around the Sword Coast to compete or watch the display. A valiant effort was noted from a man named Yuri and and a burly woman who went by Sabel. Few seemed to make it past the third round as both Belrix and Callo were stopped on the one against one challenge against the trained mercenaries. Upon the conclusion of competition, it kicked off into its final stage where teams were formed from the contestants who made it the furthest. Yuri and Sabel were defeated after a hard fought battle against one of the elite soldiers of the Golden Crux. All hope seemed lost for Baldurian pride until Callo and Belrix made it to the second and final test of the competition.
The arena shook as the final opponent made its way into the dusty arena. Standing sixty feet tall a massive golem made of iron, wood, and plated armor stood against them. Its body seemed to be constructed of different siege equipment that had rotted over time. When the fight kicked off, the golem swung sluggish as it tried to catch Callo. It bashed and beat the ground trying to crush Belrix. After a long fought battle a loud crash shook the wide and the golem was no more. Baldur's Gate had taken the day.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast

Not but a day after the competition in the arena, a duel has been posted between two knights among the city.
What started as an argument after the competition spilled into a moment of near violence. The knight dressed in a long tabard of yellow was seen removing his glove and striking the man of Tyr. He demanded his satisfaction and the duel was set.
Sir Kreston of Tyr is expected to show up to meet Sir Amalith of the Morning lord at sunrise to settle their dispute by blade and blood. The church of Tyr has not set any word on the duel, but some citizens expect a long lengthy contract before it begins.

House of Cards report a useful winter season investing around the expanding docks of Baldur gate. Elsewhere fashion has gained traction in the form of a new market around Neverwinter. The traders hope to gain from locally sourced snow tiger skins and the expanding demand from Neverwinters fashion market for snow tiger skins and fully made garments from this currently fashionable material.
Further south trade near Beregost fell foul of a vampire attack along the trade routes. Local militias made sweeps to drive away this latest threat to trade.
Triel produced a raft of tax laws favouring local development and contractors building on long established support of this region by charity and adventurers over the years. Local traders expect that this will provide a state revenue that will be ploughed back into the communities in a manner likely to support law abiding organisations across the region.

Cloakwood they say continues to be shaped in the likeness of Silvanus. Many speculate this wild wood is a favourite of the God.

A blue dragon was spotted near to Greenest sweeping far and and wide before retiring into the Greenfields further east.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
House Divine winter snow tiger fashion wear has taken neverwinter by storm. Their exclusive and limited lines were exported by House of Cards and demand for snow tiger skins around Baldur's Gate has seen a strong uptake.
Further south trade near Beregost a lich was laid low by an expedition of knights led by the Lathander Temple.
Triel announced the arrival of Captain Keene and his elite company of specialists at Triel on an exchange mission, rumour has it this strong and disciplined force will conduct joint patrols and share ideas and training with the local garrison.
Rumours at Roaringshore suggest a group has formed to locate and loot the lost Yondalla hideout. In a counter move the Temple of Yondalla at Gullykin is said to be forming a company to locate their lost hideout as a recent local interest has raised concerns that others may be ahead of the chase.
Traders on the Winding Way report bumper profits as raids fall to a one year low along the river.
Cloakwood they say continues to be shaped in the likeness of Silvanus. Many speculate this wild wood is a favourite of the God. In other parts of the large wood Seelie and particularly Unseelie remain increasingly active.
A rumour circulating Beregost suggested there was a reward of three hundred bags for a mace hidden at Nashkel.
A blue dragon spotted near greenest many dyas ago generated some trackers interest and strong patrols and there has been no further signs of the blue dragon. Though locals report they have sighted such a creature on rare occasions over the years.

A wanted book thief Bethany Binder was recently tracked to one of the many caves scattered along the wagon trails east of Greenest and brought to justice. A number of books were recovered there and elsewhere in a cave in the Uldoon and returned to the owner. A single rare book was held as part of the reward for the bounty hunters. Some other books were not recovered and lost to time.

Whispers started in the Outer city of Baldur's Gate about lost treasures in far off Upperdark tunnels grew in stature down in the darkened taverns and illicit gatherings below ground. Before long a glimmer of hope had been offered to the more optimistic adventuring groups. Nothing ventured nothing gained said some. Before long some had slipped quietly from the city to far off hills and caves. It is said a small hoard of treasure and a long lost book returned later to the city with the promise of further payment looming.

Two organizations grow in prominence in the Greenfields and Greenest in particular. The first: the Myradon Vindicators. Their recent exploits in resolving a bandit mage threat in the area has earned the group a reputation for being seekers of justice and problem solvers in the region. The second: the Masquerade Court, an organization seemingly comprised of masked agents, has grown in notoriety for being ruthlessly efficient in any task that pays well.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
Whilst it may be said that Neverwinter fashion scene has dipped slightly it nonetheless remains a coveted market currently fashionably pursued by the design elite - House Divine and the trade house - House of Cards operating together in profitable tandem.
Further south trade near Beregost rumours persist of warriors braving the wyvern infested hills around Beregost in pursuit of Undead lairs. Their grim and determined collective visage telling it's own story of their dangerous work. The nearby Temple of Lathander appeared to have no knowledge of the current expeditions.
Triel reported the recent arrival Captain Keene and his elite company of specialists had expelled a group of travellers who had arrived at Triel unbidden and without papers. Reports suggest their suspicious behaviour around the shrine there led locals to think they had been planning some kind of heist.
A company of mercenaries slipped to sea from Roaringshore, hired locally on behalf of an undisclosed patron elsewhere, they set off to recover the treasures hidden behind the so called lost Yondalla yarns. What has led them to think they might succeed where many have failed was a closely guarded secret.
Traders on the Winding Way spotlighted two books of interest to the adventuring market thought to be stored locally somewhere the first was called the big book of loyalty and the second The daughters of Sadie Younger. Both seem related to lost relics.
Cloakwood may have been touched by more unseemly Unseelie mischief for spiders and undead were once again seen roaming the far west. However things remain generally naturally wild.
A rumour circulating Beregost suggested there was a reward of three hundred bags for a mace hidden at Nashkel.
Some adventurers led by the Blake brothers were rumoured to have been exploring in the Mountains of Amn driven by rumours of lost treasure. The group tight lipped revealed no details.

The Geenfields:
An execution of a witch at Fort Abraxus was halted by unidentified persons. Rumors fly far and fast about the culprits: some claim they were a motley and disparate crew of uncertain allegiance, including a green-hooded ranger, an old man, a frightening-looking tiefling, a duelist and a youthful novice. Others suggest that it was actually a group of masked knights and mages.
Regardless of their identities, these interlopers were able to rescue the witch. In their wake, the self-styled Lord-Inqusiitor Abraxus was slain. The fort is soon abandoned as the peasants and farmers who resided there no longer felt safe.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
The upcoming season of trade will be dominated by defence and ship building is the prediction of House of Cards trade house, and meanwhile they report Neverwinter fur fashion holds its prices.
The Wyvern infested hills north of Nashkel was the scene of a recent conflict and a party of necromancers and summoned Undead were brought to ruin by a group of justice seekers from Keczulla.
Triel increased security at most entrances and a series of random snap inspections of all travellers. The cuase of concern was not immediately obvious.
Agents hired by the temple of Yondalla at Gullykin have been seen up and down the coast asking questions about the Yondalla yarns.
Questions have been asked in the Upperdark about a long lost rumour the so called Onyx Orchid.
Cloakwood reported an unusual number of rare sightings, and troubling encounters with angry woodland defenders. Some locals have taken to calling the woods The wild one.

Re: DM Rumours of the Sword Coast
A rise in crime around the city of Baldur's gate has been noticed and some consider it realted to the boldness of pirates along the coast. Whatever the reason Maltz the well known trader offers ten bags for the recovery of a stolen cloak and the arrest of the thief. He is particularly keen to know the whereabouts of a Kanett....Kiznett...something? around the time of the theft a few days ago.
In other crime news from Baldur's Gate, a traveller was no sooner off a ship from Neverwinter, having a near miss with pirates, only to have one of his rings stolen. He offered one bag for the return of this ring named 'the docks ring'
In Gullykin news emerged that a dedicated group of hin employed by the temple of Yondalla had located the lost hideout of Yondalla. They immediately set about reinstating defences and opted to keep the location secret.
