Katli spends the day around Gray Harbor, working various jobs at the docks. Gently repairing Fishing nets, helping load and unload cargo, and securing crates for shipping. All the while, she keeps her conversation light and friendly with the workers. If any would ask about the recent rumors of the attacks on the Selunites of the city, she would simply reply simply.

"Aye, would seem dat simply by castin' da light o' truth in der direction dey withdraw, some might call it cunnin' but I call it cowardice."

She'd continue to work with what crews allow her, talking with navigators and answering their questions about how to sail at night, which constalations to measure to accurately mesure where along the coast they are, so they can have a better idea of how far they traveled during the night.

In the wake of the news of the war in the South having ended, a lone figure carrying a big sack has been seen entering the city through the Black Dragon Gate. It is said the figure was small elf and blue haired, barefooted too. Anything else of note beside the big sack was the red marks around her wrists. She had headed towards the Temple District.

The usual hustle and bustle of the Wide, with merchants peddling their wares at passers by was briefly interrupted by the sudden appearance of a teleporting tiefling. She had clearly arrived where she did not mean to, and as the passerbys looked and offered assistance, she merely rejected their help, storming off in a clearly agitated mood, mumbling angrily to herself in a strange, foreign language. The doors to the Lewd Lyre were slammed shut hard, echoing throughout the marketplace. Whatever had happened, it was clear that the tiefling known as Sera was not in the best of moods and would likely be so for some time.

As the summer has progressed on it's natural warmth and blossom around the city of Baldur's Gate and the lands surrounding her, a usual graying Priest of Chauntea has been a rare sight within the city and in the grand scheme of things. Even at his beloved shrine by Wyrm's Crossing, no doubt thanks to the support given by travelers of faith from Greenest caring for it. Kervel seems to have almost dissapeared into his chores of faith with the land and people in the farmlands, both new and old. More over it seems he spents greater amount of time on his own fields with his pupil at his beloved home. Desptite his current low profle existence, the man is completely focused on his goddess work as much as before.

Two of Selune's faithful spend the day collecting milk, paying farmers for a large quantity of it, and hires a wagon transport to deliever a large quanity of milk to the Underceller Tavern at the entrance of the Wide. The two entered into the tunnels beyond the Tavern and approached the underground waterfountain in the depths of the tunnels below the city. There, the two filled the fountain with the milk until the whole fountain was pouring out opulant pearly white. One ignighted her blade of light, and pressed it to her forehead, the other bowed her head in prayer.

"Lady o' Silver, Moonmaiden Selune, Bless dis milk 'n 'ear me prayer, aid meh in bringin' yer light wit yer divine moonfire ta places ye cannae se from upon yer seat in da night sky."

"Selune, Grace us with your healing light, pierce the darkness around us an in each of our hearts. Embrace us with your ever kind light. Cleanse the gloom as we ever take your light into the dark."

The one bearing the divine sword then read a scroll, and a pitcher of milk not poured into the fountain was set alight with the everblessed Moonfire, and with gentle reverence, was pushed into the fountain, the splashing of fire and the pouring of the milk from the fountain then combined to create a fountain of Moonfire that was blinding in divine light, reaching up to the top of the cave. Due to its divine nature, only the light was emmited from the white holy flame, no smoke, no soot, and not even any heat could be felt.

Hours later, after the Moonfire had burned its divine light out, the blade bearer returned, skimming off the top of the fountain a white divine substance, placing it into several vials to be used at a later date.

In the taverns and inns of Baldurs Gate you can find the following notes among all the others:

Hidden: show
Part of the background story of my player character Sheren Aseph. Maybe someone (PC, DM) want to help shape this story - or it fits someones own background story? There is no more information from me, so free for your own ideas. Even the names couldn't be the real names here at the Sword Coast - everything is 20 years ago. Joint arrangements are welcome via PM.

The Sickly Priest of the Rose Portal

-Theme-
Image
Words come around of a new priest visiting the Rose Portal of Lathander in Baldur's Gate.

Normally such an event would not make it into a running rumour, although the people talk of something odd. This priest seems to be affected by some sort of affliction, a disease. He covers his whole body and wears a metal mask. He is thin, weak and yet he offers healing and assistance to those seeking it under the Light of the Morninglord.

Ironic, a man offering healing while unable to treat his own afflictions.

Perhaps there's more to it.

As folks around the wide gather to look at the sight, a headless body in red robes is displayed before the Thayan Enclave. A sign hangs about the well-dressed corpses shoulders plain to see "Veshna, traitor and enemy of Baldurs Gate, responsible for spreading plague". It appears that the Thayans have exacted justice befitting Thayans on one of their own.

The commoners wonder what "plague" this could be, but rumour has it that whatever it was, the Enclaves Khazark put a swift end to it personally before it effected the people of Baldurs Gate.

A human woman wearing tattered gray/black robes would take notice of the beheaded display before seeking entrance to The Enclave, leaving shortly after her visit.

A large half-orc keeps visiting The Flaming Fist Head-quarters, Anyone familiar with him immediately recognize him as Thok.

It is currently unknown to the masses why the frequent visits happen, friends and aquaintances might easily deduce that it has something to do with the recently jailed Maevyn Arkalis, as rumors spread.

The candle marks passed slowly and painfully as she busied her time with singing or whistling for the guards on duty. With each shift change she would greet the new Fist guard with a wide smile and genuine questions about their outside lives. Surprise marked her features with each visitation from allies and friends. Some seemingly just to confirm that her own husband and brother placed her in shackles and marched her to the gate.
A spectacle made as others gawked with their passing. Her cheeks flushed with her initial embarrassment; frustration and anger palpable as she used humor to soften the situation. She knew her crime had consequences and she would face them head on and without fear or regret. If this was to be her new life for however long, she would make the best of it. As the night drew on and the newest guard fell into a slumber, she spoke soft prayers to her goddess. Asking that the powers that be see justice through, whatever that looks like.

A male tiefling entered the Flaming Fist headquarters and headed down to the prison, staying near a cell for as long as allowed after some conversation with a person in a cell.

The eve prior Gaven walked through the City of Baldur after having been seen escorting Maevyn Arkalis by chained manacles with Declan Nash to the Flaming Fist Citdel. Many marks went by before they and a few others emerged, Thok, Jak Steward of House Vale, and Ser Alexander Marshall, Warden of Trielta. Most would disperse, Marshal and Arkalis would be seen going to the Temple of Torm then departing soon after to outside the City. Upon Gaven's return he would be seen meandering the streets to the Temple of Ilmater, where he lingered in Prayer. Then onto the Temple of Tyr, where he lingered in Prayer, and then finally to the Temple of Torm where he also gave Prayer. He departed back to the Temple of Tyr, where the man would be going over documents well into the morning.

A familiar man, to perhaps many now even if only by description from the rumors milling about, would be seen entering the Flaming Fist Citadel at the times of visitation. He would go through the motions needed for the guards, weapons and all held or peace knotted before being escorted down into the Jails, a nod given to any others as he encountered during them.

As the day turned to night once more, the jailed bardess remained unaware of what time of day it was outside the drab stone walls. The stone seemed to be closing in tighter even though she had found solace in her cause. She had found resolve knowing that she would face Denton in court. This is what she was truly in this cell for. Maevyn knew that the only way to get a guarded audience with Denton was to be guilty of a crime that involved him. She had been successful. For now, at least.

She was grateful for her friends and loved ones who had filled her days with visits and comfort food. A select few ensured that her food could not be tampered with, means provided to handle such a situation. The overpouring of love and support was nearly enough to overwhelm the woman. Despite not being able to see the moon, she continued to speak her prayers to her goddess. She would ask for strength in the coming days when the excitement of her arrest had worn off. When everyone had heard enough of her tale. She prayed for momentum. She prayed for strength of hope She busied herself during non-visitation hours singing to the guards, even teaching some words so they could sing along should they choose. She took comfort in his cloak draped around her shoulders. The ring on her finger twisted. The inscribed phrase meant more to her now than anything. The good, the bad, and the between.
