Feytouched suggestion

I'd like to suggest to include bards among the feytouched class, as a requirement. Bard, sorcerer and warlock.

However I'm curious: was there a reason on why bards weren't included?

I don't see any reason why Bards would not be included mechanically. It'd be pretty meh, but it could have plenty of role-play potential.

That's what I thought too. It seems strange to me that it hasn't been added until now, especially given some of the plots I've seen happening on the server itself. It would therefore be necessary, in my opinion, to add it to give the possibility to bards too.

True, it wouldn't be particularly OP, but ultimately who wants to be OP with basic spells if you're a bard?

But yes, I was also wondering why the PrC had never been included. Whether for background reasons (so that "bards cannot be feytouched") or simply an oversight.

The best I can think of is that sorcerers and some warlocks are born with heritage of planar nature (fey, in this instance). But they aren't the only kind of people with ancestry like this. In fact, there's feat for that (Fey Heritage) that Feytouched requires. Makes me wonder if even more classes shouldn't be allowed to take this PrC, but frankly non seem so on point as bard that already has knack for charisma, illusions, enchantments and is non-lawful.

Ooo yes I totally second this! As soon as it came out I was sad cause I traded out sorcery for song magix! It’s a perfect class for crazy bards everywhere !=^^= *giggles manically *

Don't know why it wasn't opened for bard. Bard magic can definitely come from fey descent as well.

I imagine mainly because this class doesn't particularly do anything of value for bard and so those who made it thought no bard would be interested. But that's the same with frost mage to be honest. Don't see a lot of frost mage bards running around, but it does qualify for it, and progress it.

Even eldrich knight qualifies and progresses bard, but it's generally considered a bad choice because it doesn't progress inspirations and songs.

If you want feytouched also to progress inspirations and songs, that may need some more consideration though. But if you just want to enable it for bard, why not.

My idea was just to enable it for bards in general, without song and inspiration progress.

If in the future you'll want to progress even those, sure, maybe a 6/10 progress for inspiration/songs. But my proposal at the moment is to just enable it for bards too.
In short, like Dragon Disciple: it progresses spells, it is available for bards, but it doesn't progress songs / inspirations.

Even with the no song progression yep I’d love it! Of course wouldn’t mind the song progression if that’s something we could have!=^^=
