All,
Read the latest thread on the status of evil RP on the server etc. I wanted to reach out given the discussion and points made and see if any others are interested in evil RP that is vehemently loyal to Amn and the Council of Six (and possibly hostile or at least skeptical of arcane magic that is not loyal to Amn) and Amn citizen based out of Nashkel or at least living in Nashkel with residency in other Amnian locations further south. As far as I know, Natalia Fernanda, a Waukeenar cleric and merchant/mercenary character I have played for a few years, is the only such themed character on the server that is actively played at this time, but I could be mistaken.
I was hoping to see if any other players would be interested as such as I really do believe there are huge openings for RP in the theme of evil moral dispositions that are loyal to Amn and really this has not been a thing in any meaningful way for many characters at once on the server for probably at least nine years. I would be happy OOC to run either support or lead (ideally would love to support another IC/OOC leading the RP as I already have another character that is pretty heavy on leadership in theme) on aspects of this theme of RP if others were interested and would be widely flexible insofar as it being mercenary, merchant, adventurer, or otherwise in its make up.
Please share your thoughts or feel free to PM me as well. Appreciate you all so much in your RP on this server!

Noticed this a bit late... IMO, Amn is too small and isolated to organically support evil RP, except maybe with constant and unwavering support from the DMs. All you can really do is talk and pray that the NPCs agree with your characters' viewpoint, because basically anything you can do in Amn is high-level adventures (where you will almost automatically become a pariah if you're actively antagonistic towards mages), or happening inside Nashkel and thus requiring DM oversight to do anything meaningful.
In terms of expressed attitudes, recent Amnian behavior (and the corresponding opportunities for evil) reminds me of Barovia over on NWN:EE's Prisoners of the Mist: Mages must remain extremely secretive around most Barovians or expect to die, and most outlanders support the mages out of practical or ideological reasons. This works on PotM for four key reasons that I can think of:

This works on PotM for four key reasons that I can think of:
- You are forced to start in Vallaki, and can often expect to spend most of your pre-teen levels in Barovia. The server dedicates roughly as much space to Barovia as to all the other domains of Ravenloft combined, and even high-level outlanders have a tendency to revisit Vallaki just because they know people there. It's a much larger population than Nashkel, both PC and NPC alike, so there's more opportunities for interesting RP.
- The Vallaki Garda, and to a lesser extent all the Barovians (besides occasional sympathetic PCs) are a clear and present danger, even in the total absence of DMs. Being seen casting spells damages your reputation, potentially (and often) to the point of making the NPCs refuse to deal with you, chase you off (or run away, depending on their temperament), and even try to kill you days or weeks after the initial incident. (Since these kinds of reputation penalties will only ever mostly wear off, it's possible that particularly dislikeable PCs will never be safe around the Garda NPCs again!)
- Adding to the Garda menace is a healthy contingent of PC Garda officers, often seen leading NPC subordinates out on patrols during the day, and with all the authority their positions imply. Not only are they capable of gravely endangering newly misted PCs with their own abilities, but they have the ability to post bounties on persistent or severe offenders - bounties that are, AFAIK, financed by the DMs, and tend to greatly exceed the daily income of many Barovian adventurers. (Their economy isn't perfect either, but a mixture of lower monetary rewards, no individualized loot nodes, and considerably less-soloable content means that gold only really starts to depreciate when you leave Barovia... and even then, not to the same extent as it sometimes feels on BG.)
- Death, whether to NPCs or to PCs, is hardly inconsequential. Players can expect their characters to be dead for months (if not forever) if they screw up badly enough, raising and resurrection costs are considerably higher (relative to average income) than BG, and their Cyric-equivalent can eat entire levels' worth of XP if you respawn. (And depending on what happens to your corpse, respawning may be impossible for a good while, if a DM doesn't permakill you outright!) Add to this the fact that muling is both legally and mechanically prohibited, and even the staunchest altoholic may think twice before getting into a potentially deadly situation. Thus, bystanders may choose to tolerate the Garda's numerous evils (at least on the surface) lest they find themselves the next visitors to the gallows... or worse.

I can say for sure that this topic has potential, lots of it.
The player initiative is awesome and there is effort from the DM Team to see rp like that grows.

DaloLorn, thanks for sharing your perspective.
DM Glittergold, understood! If there is some traction here with other PCs, hopefully this goes somewhere then! I have not found another active player interested yet though for better or worse.
