(here commences the scribblings of Virem D'Ukac, a Drow Necromancer of Sshamath)
Death...
"where am I? I've never seen such darkness, am I blind? The raid on Beregost..." My thoughts fade to nothingness.
Dreaming?...
As my mind clears I see a face, decaying, dark, the stench. "Velsharoon" I whisper in harsh realization as the god image fills my mind with forbidden knowledge and dark thoughts? Rituals blaze like icy fire through my mind. The Binding of the Crypt and the Pact of the Everlasting, I recognize these from my studies in Necromancy at the Academy. But what is happening to me, the number 7 flashes in my mind...
Velsharoon lifts his head in silent laughter, a sea of undead behind him, but something greater is rising in the distance. I can barely make it out. Could it be a Dracolich? But wait their are thousands of them.
Everythings dims and is replaced by a new vision. In my minds eye I see the underdark... and a black womb bursts open spilling forth a legion of dracoliches.
Blinded by sunlight...
I awaken back on the Pirate ship the acursed Sun blinding me as consciousness embalms me. That grinning Duargar standing above me is the fisrt sight that assults my eyes. Memories flood back of Cel'lith, our appointed Captain, the voyage at sea, and the raid on Beregost.
I apparently was killed at Beregost and dragged back here after the raid and revived. I'm surprised any of my brethren would care enough to do this. Perhaps another's hand has perused fate to make things so. More important to me at the moment, however, is what of my dream? Was it all just a dream? Was it a vision of whats to come? I can't Imagine Velsharoon would have taken notice of me, I'm only a senior apprentice at the Academy, and my studies into Necromancy have only just begun. I need to get back to the underdark and back to the Academy. Research. I need answers.
Well I should stop writtng for the moment and look at the bounty we've taken, before there is non. I'm hoping this is the last night I breath this disgusting "fresh" air.

Re: Virem's Little Black book
Note to self,
I should investigate more in depth the svirfneblin named Dshanz who accompanies us on the ship. she hides beneath those rag robes of hers, but I know she is rotting and decaying beneath there, I can smell it. At our first encounter she seemed to respond mostly to me after I had mentioned my studies in Necromancy and Velsharoon. Maybe I can learn some useful lore not available at the Academy from her. Much to my dislike the little creature far exceeds me in power, she must have some profound knowledge lying in that decomposing corpse of hers.
