Hello!
The requirements of the Darkfire Disciple PrC is Level 2 divine spellcasting ability. The Blackguard PrC gains divine spells, up to spells of level 4 (Level 2 spells at Level 4 of the PrC). Thus...I am requesting the consideration for implementation of the Blackguard Level 2 spell ability to qualify for the Darkfire Disciple PrC req of Level 2 Divine spellcasting.
In the vein as to how Assassin PrC spell casting ability qualifies to unlock Arcane Archer.
For reference to how the Blackguard PrC casts actual Divine Magic, here is a link in D&D Tools: https://dndtools.net/classes/blackguard/
Of note: "A blackguard prepares and casts spells just as a cleric does..."
Now...it is a point as to whether Darkfire Disciple would progress the Blackguard CL, such as Dragon Slayer PrC does as implemented currently. I'm all for it...but that probably makes it less likely!! lol.
Thank you for the consideration!!

I think it's only fair. Paladins qualify for any PrCs that require divine casting and gain CL from those PrCs, where applicable. So should their opposite.

It does make a lot of sense, I believe. Funny enough I was just looking at both of those prc earlier.

Re: Suggestion: Blackguard PrC qualifies for Darkfire Disciple Req
There are some technical hurdles (Assassin spellcasting doesn't qualify for Arcane Trickster; the Assassin class does, and the arcane casting requirement boils down to "must be a class that gets arcane spells eventually")... but Rhi has inadvertently offered a path to overcome those hurdles, because we can track spellcasting ability via the spell progression milestone feats instead of the game's built-in tracker.
My verdict: Technically feasible, arguably even trivial. Do we want to do any of it? Beats me.

I personally don't really see any serious RP objections to it, at least.
But I am curious, what sparked the interest? What would you build with blackguard/darkfire disciple?

Re: Suggestion: Blackguard PrC qualifies for Darkfire Disciple Req
I was thinking of a monk/Blackguard split, which is kinda weird in and of itself. And thinking that how Blackguard gets Sneak Attack dice, thus if you use Monk to Stun your opponent, you'd get a small SA dmg boost. Then I thought about what other evil-leaning PrCs are out there to add to that SA dmg, and Darkfire Disciple is one such PrC. Seeing it required level 2 divine spellcasting, I was like..wait a frickin' minute! Blackguard gets level 2 divine spells, so does it qualify? And of course, with DD also needing 1d6 SA to open it up, and BG provides that, I was like match made in
So yeah, I really like the idea of of a Blackguard/Darkfire Disciple and having that synergy, both mechanically and toward Role-play. Always can use more Kossuth worshippers! (yes, I know DD is not Kossuth specific, but...)

I happened to be looking at these same classes on the same day this post came into existence. My own reasoning was searching for a class makeup that would go well with the story arc happening in Amn as a mage hunter. I also found it slightly curious that I would have to take another divine class instead of 3 way split it would have to be a 4 class character for it to be viable. Otherwise I may have actually gone with a build using this.
