Hello there, I was told that General Discussion would be the best place to post this so that others can see and it's something I feel I should do, because I know what this place meant to them, and I'm the only one who can do this.

There is a character who has been active in your server for quite a few years, Terri Xon (Years ago Terri Lalani) member of The Phoenix Company. (On this forum DarkCloud777)

I am the IRL niece of the person who played Terri, and I know they have been playing this game and roleplaying on BGTSCC for years, all the way to present day! (I used to play on the server with Terri years ago and it was so much fun) I posted in the discord, and was told it would be good to post this here as well to make sure it has the best chance of being seen by anyone this could be important too.

I'm posting this for anyone who knew Terri... For anybody who is wondering where they have been these past few days... For anyone who cares about the person behind the character Terri, and those that care for Terri in this lil Roleplaying universe... The person who played Terri, passed away in their sleep sometime in the night of November 21st and is no longer with us...

I know Terri had friends, and family, and community here that meant a lot to them, and I used to be incredibly active on the BGTSCC and I don't feel right not saying at least SOMETHING in the hopes it reaches anybody it needs to reach.... You deserve to know where Terri is. <3

Thank you so much for your time, and thank you for being a server that my family member loved so much and created so many memories on. If anybody knew Terri and would like to message me and chat, my DM is always open for you here or on Discord. The player of Terri/Darkcloud was a good friend OOC really since the first week I started playing in 2013 and IC Terri was very close to Wai really since the beginning of playing her here. Condolences to you all again.

Darkcloud gave a lot of joy to so many in this server for so many years. I will always remember the stories we played through together. Thank you Darkcloud for being a wonderful person and part of my life and this community and so inclusive to so many. They were so generous and welcoming to so many regardless of how long they had played on the server or how well they knew them. Very grateful they could be a part of our lives.

Below are some throwbacks to very fun RP that I remember with Terri over the years and some of probably tens or even a hundred of plots or RP lines that Wai engaged with Terri over the years or that Phoenix Company had with the Everwatch. Terri was Chaotic Good to Wai's Lawful Good, the simultaneous close friendship and tension IC given that over time was a fantastic source of roleplay and joy for so long and so many laughs and fun times too OOC. Terri and Wai would literally call each other sisters IC due to their closeness over the years and Wai respected and appreciated Terri in so many ways while Terri simultaneously drove Wai crazy a lot (and vice versa) -- this joyfully RPed over the years again and again, ahhh so many wonderful memories with Darkcloud I never want to fade. I am just one community member here, they impacted so many others in a joyful way as well. History now. Miss you Terri/Darkcloud. Will always remember the joy we had in this community and in the world of BGTSCC. Terri/Darkcloud you are immortal in the stories we lived together here.

Speartop Watchtower Part 1
((Player Run Quest To Be Continued))

Word spreads along the Sword Coast and in the Amnian areas of Nashkel and Beregost in particular that a Helmite Paladin and member of the Everwatch Knights of Helm, Wai Li, formed an expedition of fellow-paladins and other allied adventurers including Durn, Terri, Mercury, Sani, Valiant, Cecilia, Bandit, Oxthain, and Leo to survey a site for a watch tower on the 3 mile high peak of Speartop in the Cloud Peak Mountains. Rumors say that while the surveying of a site for the new watch tower to aid the security of Amnian trade routes, of travelers, of regional centers of civilization, and of merchants passing through the area was successful, an offshoot of the expedition that intended to cull the threat of a nearby dragon cult and its master wyrm to secure the site of the watch tower for eventual construction was a dismal failure. Denizens of the Sword Coast blabber that the expedition returned in a gloomy state with many a blood stained armors and outfits as well as bite, burn, and scratch marks visible. People say that it has yet to be decided whether a stronger and more robustly supported -- with better arms, manpower, and financial backing -- return expedition will be organized to cull the dragon threat for the construction of the watch tower or whether the dragon cult and its banner wyrm, an extremely powerful white dragon, will respond with escalation in kind. It is known, however, that the Helmite Wai Li has put out public postings in Amnish lands looking for financial backing and/or noble patronage for a future expedition, if any.

harken to tis tale tis night, a tale of a dragons plight the dragon scoured the lands through and through until one day a hero named koryeneer roused trusted men and women to rally blades and spellfire

followed him did wai, dante, mercury, terri and sani did, with a lone traveling priestess through the lands of cold they tread, up mountains nigh and high, to only where eagles do darebupon the summit did they stare, at the maw of thine great wurm

For they knew death waited, one or all, friend or for, all knew for certain they would stand or fall together for all

Through the wurms minions did they slay laid waste to them for worms to flay one by one did they fall, like snowflakes pristine from mountains fall

when beholden they the lair of thy beast one by one did they pray to their fates and contemplate being in this time, this place

Onwards with cries to helm and the other gods did they lead into the fray of destiny
Wai Li fiercely craved the beast away with utterances of the gods upon her lips and in her heart fueling her inner fire, light bursting as if through her blade with desire,
to slay the great wurms ire, sylena calling forth shaundakuls healing, flowing through wai's viens

mercury and koryneer did swing might blows in unison did they work a dance of steal and of sparks on blade versus scales of ages untold

Terri did let loose her rage untold upon the beast, it shrieked, it roared in vain, creature profane

Sani let forth a mawful spew of magik fierce, lighting the darked cavern for all to see,
for in that moment all saw one thing, this wurm expressed something deep in its eyes,
and all could see, fear as it knew its time was nigh

As the battle raged, it's life began to ebb, and with it the adventurers spirits soared,
flying up, where only eagles dare, as the beast breathed one last mighty breath, freeing the north from its balefull burden once more

A letter submitted for all Company agents to review

*the following is a summation of a proposal to formalize an alliance with the Naskel Everwatch Knights in order to bring about prosperity to the war torn Sword coast*

"I am sure you all know me. Hello Sir Ghrimold, Eleanor, Miss Reine, Sir Klait. I seek to see Baldur's Gate flourish, this can only be accomplished by a solid exchange of trade between nations.

The Everwatch Knights here In naskel has always been a source of Moral support for me. It has influenced my actions and how I have set up Phoenix Company. With the war finally at an end Many people seek to rebuild. For myself I have announced that our company will provide free escort service patrolling the tradeway In an attempt to increase trade. I dream big, but I realize this is not possible for just our company alone. We will need help.

I would formally request an alliance to free up the banditry that is running rampant all along the free trade way. If we see success then more trade will occur which will require more escorts and so on and so forth. I am all for a time limit for the free services. Once the prospective governments have reached a point where they can afford to pay for these services then It can be renegotiated with them. Right now The Dukes Coffers are bare. I will pay for food and repairs for you if that will garner your support."

Wai Li spoke, "I propose a vote: all in favor of exploring cooperation with the Phoenix Company and other possible allies on matters of trade lane security, say Aye, and thank you for the offer Terri.

"One thing I would ask however. Do you know of the ANT Initiative? It is an initiative started here In Naskel. I have very little Intel as to whether they are in the up and up.it is a project of Lady Zakine. I will approach her then and give you my take on there operation and submit a report if you have no objection." No objections were raised.

Just want to share that Terri was very nice to me too when i came back to the server.

She never pick and choose who to RP with as long as its legit nice interaction, and help anyone who needed help.
She even sparks lots of others to do the same just being helpful and nice to each other such as the roller coaster from the Phoenix Company in spite whatever anyone says.
Huge condolences and pray for her to be with her loved ones there. i'll share some of the nice RP we had together down here.

Hello, Katteratter. First of all, condolences to you and the family and everyone she cherished.

I cannot say that I've known her, if not just RP'd with her once or twice and never for long (because simply we never had a lot of chances for that). I can't bring any memories, but since my character has become administrator of the Phoenix Company (the same Company that she led for years with as much passion), I hope I can carry on her legacy somehow on this server, and continue her project that she liked so much.

I wish I could share more, but this is all I can do for her, and say about her.

This is highly unwelcome, sad news. I wish it was otherwise, but I offer my gratitude for the knowledge necessary for closure all the same.

During my early days on BGTSCC, interacting with Terri and their group has formed a significant component of my experience. A positive one usually, especially with the eventual union of Vendor Xon and Terri Lalani. I am grateful for these experiences, and feel bitterness that they remain ever in the past.

You have my deepest condolances for this loss, may their memory shine ever brightly.

Awww sad I’m sure she is with Eilistree now! I wish Terri and I got more time together! The Phoenix company was very welcoming for me and helped me break out of that awkward new player stage! I’m sure I would have driven her crazy if we had more time!=^^= hehe I’ll cherish the happy memories we shared!

My condolences too , I used to rp a lot with Darkcloud's characters , especially Terry , and this comes as quite the shock .

I'm so sorry that your family has faced this, that you've lost a person who I hope made as great of a mark in your life as they have in ours. I have my own personal stories with Terri as a character, as well as hours of talk OOC about everything from mice to the plans of men. I spent the last hour going back through some of our conversations that were had over the years after hearing of this tragic news. The only solace perhaps is the hope that it was peaceful in their sleep.

Along with the rest of this community, we've lost someone who contributed a huge part in not only its dynamics but also in our own character developments. I'm glad you got to find a place in this society as well. I got my own nephew into it and then later tried to with my own children since they're both fans of Dungeons and Dragons. This place, its players, whether the characters meet with kindness or animosity, most everyone remembers such to be in character matters. Respect and mutual kindness towards one another OOC.

With your relative though my character found annoyance in some of Terri's actions, in that same way the character reminds me of my wife and marriage. I was/am/will always be fond of Terri. Aidan Thatcher, my character, didn't meet Terri as far back as Wai Li. In fact, my first engagement with Terri was in late 2014. By 2015 when the Phoenix Company was to be built, Aidan was among the members and taking into account the supplies needed to build the place Terri wanted to bring to life. A relationship as a couple formed between them. One of my character's most notorious stories arises from the early start of their relationship.

Aidan felt compelled to tell Terri anything and everything. He thought the world of her, and still does though they ended as friends, he was there often to help her and her husband.

Terri and Aidan had a sit-down meal in Beregost a couple of weeks after he opened up to her about something he told no one. It was a matter of how he had deserted station on an Amnian ship and defected to Baldur's gate. But here he is now in Beregost occupied by Amn. Terri takes his hand and tells him something to the effect of "I know you told me in secrecy but I know someone who could help us." Aidan was bewildered to say the least not sure which secret of the many she was speaking of. In walks Wai Li, armored out, a Helmite. Who relayed the story she was told by Terri and wanted to hear the rest of it. As a player I couldn't stop laughing, my character was furious but held his composure.

After Aidan gave his confession he expected some form of absolution for his failings. Instead Wai Li in the politest, stern way possible... Told Aidan he could do the honorable thing and turn himself in or Wai Li was going to have to take him to jail. Imagine being the boyfriend and finding out your girlfriend told the cops you stole from a store, while she sat next to you when the cop came in.

A lot of rp went into the aftermath. Between Terri, Wai Li, Aidan, and the many requests that had to be sent in by people who knew Aidan to be a changed man.
I mean, the charge could have very well been hanging. He spent three months jailed (sped up by server days and DM Golem handling it to the best of their ability). Aidan was both still very in love with Terri and at the same time thinking "the heck is wrong with you?"

I hope your family knows how much both player and their character meant to many here. I was even given the honor by Terri to play a character for two months who ran the kitchens of the Phoenix Company. With every intention of Terri removing the character and turning it into an NPC after they had seen what life could be brought to her. She's still there to this day Joslyn the cook who would be a scary match for any man. Thank you, thank your family for me/us for sharing Terri's player with us.

I didnt' know Terri, our paths just never crossed. But for me its always a sad thing when one of ours doesnt log in anymore. Do accept my heartfelt condolences. As you can see, she will be missed. God bless.

When I first came to the server more than 10 years ago, Terri was one of the characters I had the most interactions with. She was a good friend to all my characters, and we had relationship of mutual respect and trust outside the game. Something which continued after my return to the server nearly four years ago.

She will be greatly missed, and both worlds are less for her passing. My condolences to you and your family, and thank you for letting us all know where she went.

I meet Darkcloud on her alt account (sunnyinflorida) maybe some of you knew her from this account. She was playing Peter Lalani and I Cala Claymore this was sometime in late 2021. It wasn't long and we we're playing together almost every day for nearly a year. Needless to say, she was a great person and I have missed out time together. Thank you for sharing this information with us and please accept my condolences for she will be missed!

Terri was one of my very first pals on this server - and I learned a lot from our friendship.

Phoenix Company was an open door guild that accepted all of us misfit RP'ers. But even though there was not much in the way of grueling acceptance requirements, I recall still feeling very honored when I was formally invited into the guild. I wore my Phoenix Company pin with pride.

I lost touch with Terri over the years but I was always very happy when we would bump into each other.
I think a cure to anything ailing this server, would be for all of us to simply be a bit more like Terri.

Terri was my main characters best friend, one of his first and one of the most important. I haven't been around for a very long time, I stopped playing nwn2 quite a long time ago. Terri was a huge part in bringing new faces and new names into stories and plots, while many groups ran in circles being friends with Terri/Darkcloud opened up many doors not just for myself but for many faces that came and went.

They supported me during hard times and we sent a few messages back and forth about our personal happenings IRL over skype, supporting each other now and then. I give you and all of darkclouds family my deepest condolences and sympathies, I want to finish this post with something our characters would often say to each other.
